    Shrimp in lobster sauce
    Valerie D.

Restaurant is big but very clean. They have a parking lot which is nice. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was hit or miss, unfortunately. The shrimp in lobster sauce had no flavor. The Mongolian beef and cashew chicken were tasty. The chicken with vegetables was a little bland. Everything though was very fresh and hot. If in the area we would try it again.

10/10 me and my family love this place. If you are looking for flavorful Chinese food this is the spot to go to. The portions are huge but the food is also good some places have huge portions but the food sucks this is not one of those places. The orange chicken was probably some of the best I have ever had and the pork fried was amazing the pork was tender and soft a must get. I called to order but next time I might have to dine in

TLDR; delish food, huge portions, & we'll be back! First time here! I've had it bookmarked for years, and just got to it ... should have come sooner! We tried: -Cream Cheese Wontons (8): Delish! Savory, Creamy, perfectly crisp! Comes w a nice sauce too. -Orange Chicken: big Juicy flavorful pieces, sauce is delish and lots of it. Maybe not as crispy as other places, but the quality of meat makes up for it. -Mongolian Beef: meat cooked to perfection, flavors are good! -House Special Chop Suey: great flavor sauce! Comes w/ Chicken, beef, shrimp, mushrooms, broccoli, snap peas, and tons of bean sprouts. We loved everything. And had TONS of Leftovers. Portions are huge! Also, they wine & beer. Limited options, but it's there! Wine was like 9.50/ea Beer was like 6.95/ea ??? I think! *a lil high? :/

Takeout lunch portion - salt and pepper squid
    Cindy D.

We have been searching for an authentic Chinese restaurant since Seafood Port closed and found that Golden Pheasant offers some of our favorite menu items and also has generous lunch special portions. The salt and pepper pork chops and salt pepper squid need a bit more seasoning for our liking. Their vegetable-forward dishes are tasty well seasoned, and prepared al dente, particularly the mixed vegetables, bok choy with garlic sauce and mixed vegetables. Unlike most take/out places, they include the hot and sour and/or chicken corn soup as part of the takeout orders; however, we found the soup to be too thick and pasty. Service is fast and efficient. Overall, It's worth trying the lunch specials.

We,picked up takeout. We placed an order for 2 shrimp fried rice, with extra shrimp. 2 BBQ ribs,Singapore noodles, that had pork chicken and shrimp. Cooked to perfectly. Garlic string beans mixed veggies, salt n pepper chicken wings and salt n pepper pork chops. Chicken with black bean sauce. Egg rolls and steam rice. All a 10 authentic flavors. Large portion. The service is always friend and kind. They have a large dining area capacity of 153 max. There appeal parking street and parking lot.

Chow mein, Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice. Definitely gonna have left overs.

Came here for my mom's birthday and it was excellent. Was sat real quick and service was friendly and efficient. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, chow mein, Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, and fried rice. Everything was great and huge portions. Restaurant does get pretty noisy though so don't bring a date here to talk. But take out is definitely a win.

Word on the streets is that Michelle Kwan's family previously owned the Golden Pheasant back in the day. Love getting the duck, fried salt and pepper pork chops, sautéed garlic snow peas, filet mignon French style, and beef chow fun dry. The service was fast and really nice. My only issues that dropped a star was the cleanliness. My tea cup and silverware were dirty. Also the presentation of the roast duck. The picture I took is how it showed up at the table. Whenever I order roasted duck from a Chinese restaurant it's cut with precision and placed on a serving plate showing the carving skills of the chef. Sadly it wasn't done here.

My nephew had his Graduation Luncheon here and all the dishes were delicious. They ordered so many dishes, I didn't take a pic of everything. Aside from the main dining area, there is a small back area that has enough room for 5 large tables. The service even though they were packed, was good. A few times we had to wait for drink refills, but considering we were a party of almost 30 and a full restaurant. The parking is limited, but there's additional parking in adjacent lots. The interior is the usual Chinese Restaurant decor, nothing fancy, but clean and charming. They do a significant amount of to-go trays, keep them in mind for your next gathering.

We stopped in for late lunch for the first time at this restaurant. We were seated pretty quickly around 3 pm. The restaurant was busy with a birthday party in the back area and other tables about half filled with customers. Our server who took our order was abrupt and not very friendly. It was businesslike and she didn't seem interested in answering questions. Acoustics in the restaurant not great if you're trying to have a conversation. We enjoyed the beef chow fun and price was very reasonable. We also ordered the fried flounder, which was overly fried with a thick coating. Hot and sour soup came with the lunch specials. Don't get the Thai iced tea. It had no flavor. Portion sizes were generous for lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

    Shrimp Chowmein
    Sharif A.

We were looking forward to the takeout after reading such great reviews. But the food was below average (ordered five dishes). I found myself regretting not going to Panda Express instead. The shrimp chowmein was decent, but I would never want to eat any of the other items. How do you mess up pineapple fried rice (lacked flavor), that will remain a mystery. The bittermelon beef (should be called Boring Beef), house special chicken, and fried garlic squid (over cooked and chewy) were all below average. On a positive note, the portions are large. We'll have to repurpose all the leftovers somehow. The portion and price should be slashed by half I'll never go back unfortunately. It was a very busy night, but that should never be an excuse for making below average food.

My friend's family tradition is to have Chinese food on Christmas eve, and this is the place they have gone to. I was really looking forward to it, because I was missing my Chinese food. Lol. This place did not disappoint! Everything was so good. Not only that, their portions are huge! Definitely had leftovers to enjoy later! If you're craving Chinese food, then definitely try this place!

Always a good time at Golden Pheasant. Party of 3, we got upgraded to a bigger table because our eyes did all the ordering. Food for 2-3 days.

I love Golden Pheasant. The food is always delicious. It's a busy place but they have enough staff to keep things moving. It's always clean. Decor is just what you would expect. I call my order in to reduce the wait time. The lady that answers the phone is nice but fast. You won't get any small talk out of her over the phone. I've had the broccoli beef, their house fried rice with shrimp and beef, chow mein, bok choy with beef, honey shrimp, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and the list goes on. I've never had a bad dish and their food is not greasy. The portion sizes are plentiful. My last order was the house rice and the broccoli beef. It was enough to feed three people, myself, hubby and my 23 year old son. It is my go to Chinese restaurant in Carson for sure! A must try. So busy eating I forgot to take a pic of the food!!

Closed by exterior fire. Don't know anything specific but it's always problematic when a restaurant burns as to whether it ever reopens.

Has it officially closed down? It says on here that it is permanently closed but when you look it up online it says it's temporarily closed. :(

It sadly seems like it is permanently closed if it hasn't opened by now.🙁😔😢 I drive past it everyday on my way home from work and it doesn't look like they are even working on it. It still has that fencing all around it.🙁😔😢

Is this restaurant permanently closed? It has been closed for many months. It originally said they'd reopen in January, then it said March, now the Yelp listing looks like it's open, but when you call the phone number it's not a working number.

I've been calling in hopes they have reopened. It says they're open but says call can not be completed when I call number

    Yes, it has. :)

We plan to reserve for 25 people for late afternoon around 3-3:30pm, are we required to Order from the Family set? Or Can we order from the regular menu and lunch specials?…

Very flexible place. Great customer service. I see big parties order from lunch menus but keep in mind, the portions are a bit smaller. We just chose to order from regular menu. Portions are very generous!

Can we make a reservation for 20 pax on a weekend? How soon do we need to reserve (days before)? What is the least busiest time to dine in during weekends?

Yes, there is plenty of room. Call at least two days ahead., just to be safe. Anytime is a good time for this moderately busy resturant.

    1. Open on Chinese New Year? 2. Offer lunch special on Sunday?

Open on Christmas for take out?

    Do you have weekend dimsum?

You can order dim sum items any time. However, due to Covid, you just order the items off a menu rather than rolling carts. Excuse me, they offer some dim sum items, however, they do not offer formal/traditional "dim sum".

    Happily, yes!

    Do you have family meals?

Hi Betty yes we do, we have family meal offers that serve from 6-8 people up to 10-12 people. Please come to the restaurant and take a look at the menu or find some pictures of the “family dinner” menu on Yelp, thank you!

Cons: The Hong Kong Style Crispy noodles and Fish with Black Bean Sauce were a 2 out of 5: The flavors weren't really there, mostly a sugary "gravy" taste. Not bad tasting, perhaps similar taste profile to Panda Express but with less distinct flavors. Overall may be crowd pleaser dishes but if you're used to good Chinese food, you may be disappointed. Personally, I don't see how that's a negative. While dining here, I saw families with children enjoying the food without any issues--they simply cut the dumplings into smaller pieces before eating them. Larger portions mean you're getting more for your money, and the quality certainly backs it up. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff stayed on top of everything, from bringing out dishes promptly to keeping water glasses filled and checking in to make sure we were having a great experience. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and comfortable throughout our visit. The restaurant also has a modern, upscale dim sum atmosphere that feels inviting without being pretentious. As for the food, the Shrimp Har Gow and Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai were absolutely fantastic. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and every bite was satisfying. At the end of the day, I'd much rather spend $10 on high-quality, jumbo-sized dim sum that actually fills me up than spend $20 on tiny portions at DTF. For me, Lunasia is an easy 5/5 and has become my favorite spot for dim sum.

I ended up coming really close to closing time but the service was still fast. Food was HOT & of course made to order. I did burn my tongue.... But it's okay I had a cold Thai tea to help suppress that burn. Thai tea 4/5 -- on the sweeter side for me. But still carries that robust Thai flavor to it. Spicy chicken 5/5 -- huge kick to it. Looks innocent... is deadly. I loved the spiciness. I'm all about spice so this was really nice to try. Shrimp fried rice 5/5 -- I can't believe a shrimp fried this rice... it's splendid. Uh-mah-zing. We love her. Perfect shrimp to rice ratio. Not too salty. Perfect amount of umami 12pc shrimp dumplings-- 4/5 oooo they were HOT. This place has only 8 tables so either you come on a good day when its empty which we did but it can get filled up quickly due to a large party or families. We ordered the cucumber salad appetizer...pan fried nappa pork dumplings and pork scallion buns.....and They had nooooo FLAVOR. The cucumber salad was diced to oblivion ..we might as well have gotten spoons instead of chopsticks....no spice just drenched in water and soy sauce....no garlic...no szechuan pepper oil. The dumpling and buns had no flavors....no ginger...no seasonings... my wife had to put SALT IN THE CUCUMBERS! ....yes!.... SALT!.... Parking was plenty...
