Decided to try the restaurant again after having a terrible experience. This time service was good and attentive. Food was delivered quickly and everything was delicious. What a difference when you have different servers.

We came here after seeing it from walking around the shopping center. The #20 soup was excellent. We had the vegetable fried rice, And a noodle dish with basil and tofu. The music was nice and slow variety of genres too. The service was slow to order however the taste of the food made me forget the 15 minute wait just to order. There were lot of phone orders and pick up orders that delayed us ordering our food. Definitely coming back.

So many Thai restaurant so a little time. This place came recommended to me, but sadly, it missed the mark for me since many of the dishes, lacked rich flavor and tasted inauthentic.

15. Tom Kah Soup with Shrimp

I accidentally ended up in this location..I was looking for a different Thai place with 4 stars but I'm So glad I ended up here! I would give this place 10 Stars! It's clean, staff is friendly and food is full of flavor and delicious! I come here once a week and try a different dish every time. I highly recommend their padseew and cucumber salad..and they have the best pickled lol

Tom Yum Kai

TL;DR - the tom yum kai is a chicken and mushroom soup that should be seen more as an appetizer to share. I was still hungry after it. My friend loved their lunch special. Came here for lunch and honestly I was a little disappointed with what I ordered (I was still hungry when I left but it's kinda my fault). The service was great, everyone was nice, and the food came out quickly. There were others eating there and it wasn't noisy or anything. I got the tom yum kai (large). It's basically a chicken and mushroom soup/hot pot. The bowl is really cool because they can light the flame underneath it to keep everything hot. The soup was good, the chicken was tasty, the mushrooms were plentiful. Unfortunately that's all it was lol. I should've added the noodles for an additional $2.50 because I was still hungry at the end of the meal. My friend told me that is typically more of an appetizer that you share among your party but I thought it was for one person given the price. It WAS tasty though! My friend enjoyed their lunch special and would get it again. I'll be coming back for round two. I'll order properly next time lol

It's been years since I've been to Thai Rama. And when I say years...I mean years! The last time I've been to Thai Rama was when I was little kid. My grandpa would treat us to the original Thai Rama that was located at a plaza at the corner of Anza and Torrance Blvd. It was only recently that the Thai Rama moved to this new location off W. Carson St. I went to Thai Rama for a Friday lunch with my mom and we enjoyed their lunch specials. Thai Rama's lunch special is daily from 11am to 3pm and consist of 14 different offerings that include salad and a cream cheese wonton. Prices range from $14.95 to $15.95. I chose to get the Noodle Supreme and my mom got the Yellow Chicken Curry. For the lunch special today, the waitress informed us that it would be soup versus salad. The soup of the day was a heartwarming corn soup. I enjoyed this light soup. It had good corn flavor. I hope Thai Rama continues to offer soup for their lunch special. I also really liked the cream cheese wonton that accompanied the lunch special. It was served crispy and hot. I loved the sweet cream cheese filling. The main dishes were also quite enjoyable. The Noodle Supreme consisted of flat rice noodles, chicken, egg, bean sprouts, scallions and crushed peanuts. I'm a fan of flat noodles and was happy to see Thai Rama's noodles to be perfectly soft and chewy. The chicken, scallions and peanuts brought a nice depth of flavor. The Yellow Curry was a dish that was spot on in terms of creaminess. I absolutely loved the curry sauce. It was enriched with coconut milk and was perfect over white rice. The curry had the most tender chicken that paired well with the chunks of potato and carrots. I would definitely get this again. I was happy to try Thai Rama again after so many years. New location, new experiences - I know I will be back!

I had the pad Thai and yellow curry! As a kid I hated Thai food I haven't had Thai food in years! My Best friend shiloh challenged me to eat Thai food and give it a redemption! I was really scared coming into here! BUT i ended up really liking the food! Great service! Lots of flavors! I'm a chef myself and I really enjoyed the food! I highly recommend!

We were excited to learn this Thai Rama is the same one we loved years ago on Torrance Blvd and Anza. Now located on Carson St across from Harbor General, it's even closer to home--and just as good as we remember. This was our fourth visit, and the food continues to impress. Everything is flavorful and well-prepared. We had the Mongolian Beef lunch special (with soup), Eggplant/Tofu Stir-Fry, Poached Fish, Seafood Coconut Soup, and my favorite--Beef Panang, which is always spot on. The space is cozy, the staff is friendly, and there's plenty of parking. Thai Rama remains a gem, and we'll definitely keep coming back!

We were here yesterday so it's Round 2 ! Love the food Love the service Love the ambiance Big portion!

Fried tofu
Rina C.

Delicious and authentic Thai food. Friendly service and casual ambience. We had the fried tofu appetizer, which was crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside...yum! Basil chicken fried rice was well seasoned and a good kick of spicy heat bc we asked for it. Their fried pompano fish dish is a great option too. The fish fried perfectly and the sauce with its flavor mix of sweet, salty, and a little sour. All in all a good place to get your Thai food fix.

Shrimp Pad Thai Noodles

A must-try hidden gem with a new location! So happy to have Thai Rama back open! I stopped by their new Carson Street location today after they moved from Torrance Blvd, and it feels like they haven't missed a beat. This is a true hidden gem, and the new spot is just as welcoming as the old one. The ambiance is great, it's clean, comfortable, and has a really nice, relaxed vibe that makes you want to sit and enjoy your meal. The food is clearly made with a lot of love. My favorite dish is the Pad Thai, which I ordered with shrimp. It was absolutely delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the flavors were incredible and authentic. Everything tasted so fresh, which is exactly what you hope for in a great Thai restaurant. If you're in the area and looking for some amazing Thai food, you have to give this place a try. The flavors are top-notch, the ambiance is pleasant, and it's the perfect spot for a great meal. So glad they're open again!

This place is a gem. It's a small location with big flavors. Location is always neat and clean…read more We've taken our food to go and we have dined in. When you dine in they bring metal cups with an icy cold carafe of cold water to your table. Customer service is efficient. The person behind the counter is very soft spoken and gives you a slight smile but gets your order correct every time. Hands down so don't argue with me they have the absolute BEST orange chicken. It has a slight crunch on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside. The orange sauce is perfection. It has a great balance of salty and sweet without being overly sweet like an orange candy. It's not tart and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. They put the right amount of sauce so it is not drenched. Pair it with the garlic rice and the salad that crops and fresh no dressing is even needed. Order this and you will be happy. The regular white rice is good too! The Zapp chicken is crunchy, juicy and spicy. I normally cannot eat spicy but this one is perfect. Since my 24 year old son told me about this restaurant I've been here four times in the past month. Simply delicious!!!

Without a doubt, a hidden gem in the South Bay!…read more It's tough to find quality Hainanese chicken, but here they serve it both the traditional way and also fried up + crispy. Both plates come with a bed of ginger garlic rice, lettuce, two large cucumber slices, a heaping serving of the chicken, and their house lime crema + the sweet and sour sauces. I'd personally double up on the line crema and skip on the sweet and sour sauce, but that's just my preference. Their soup with chicken and mushroom is so soothing. An underrated pickup for when you're congested and don't feel like cooking, I should add. You can even order their broth in small or large portions! I think what I enjoy about this restaurant is that there are so many addicting individual components to each dish, but they all mesh so incredibly well on a cohesive plate. I normally choose to call in my order and pick it up so I can't comment on dine-in service. But my interactions, though brief have been pleasant. I don't have much to say about the ambiance, but it strikes me as a family owned business. Be kind and be patient with the staff. And respect the craft of the good food they cook up!

When we arrived it was apparent the "chef@ was also the hostess. As a result we waited quite a while to be greeted and seated. I should note that the chef did arrive about thirty minutes later. I ordered the Waan Om Khom Kluean yellow chicken curry and my guest had the deeb Sao Thai Pad Thai with shrimp. I also ordered a Thai ice tea and the server forgot to bring it. I had to remind her after my meal was almost finished. To me the chicken curry had a terrible unappetizing presentation. It looked like shredded chicken and big lumps of potatoes. In fast that's what it was. While the taste was pretty good, the over abundance of potatoes felt like a filler for less chicken. It was a decent dish but far from one of my favorites. The Pad Thai looked a lot better. My guest said it was good, not great, and that he'd order it again. Now to the price. Nearly $70 including the two dishes, one Thai ice tea and rice. This was not fine dining. I realize they have bills to pay but it was much more than I've paid at other Thai restaurants for similar meals. All parking is on the street. One need a bit of courage to park on PCH as passing cars make it scary to open the driver's door. Cars were flying by in the 40's and 50's and it's a very unsafe parking location.

Our larb salad was painfully salty to the point where it couldn't be enjoyed on its own and the kang kio wan curry was somehow watery and bland. Both the pork and beef were overcooked and tough. Unfortunately that the meal turned out to be such a flop, the chicken was the only thing that saved this from being a single star.
