I'm doing this review for a friend who just got food from there about an hour ago. The food was okay like normal, but the customer service on the phone and in person was not it. The guy sounded like a know it all and didn't give her the chance to speak and was just being demeaning towards her. She wanted extra rice and he said, "every Asian dish comes with rice already, so that's just extra carbs and I see you." That made my friend uncomfortable so she said, "fine I'll get the macaroni and regular salad." Really fair pricing and love that the teriyaki plates are sauced up--no need for an extra side of teriyaki sauce. I ordered a combo plate with the Chinese chicken salad here for lunch on a Monday. Just a couple of customers were in the restaurant, so the waiting time was a very quick 5 minutes. After eating, I say I prefer the beef over the chicken teriyaki. Big portions and dirt cheap! For 10 and some change, you can get big scoops of rice, a styrofoam container full of teriyaki protein and mac salad or another choice of sides. I've been coming here for years because their food was always great. But, we've experienced food poisoning twice now. Extremely disappointed!! 1st time was my experience with the teriyaki chicken. 2nd time now is my hubby's experience after eating the pork. It doesn't look like much from the outside or inside . Honestly it could look a little cleaner and more up to date. But that's not why I come here. Might not be the best quality rice or salad but overall the sauce is delicious and the meat is cooked very well. Only a couple times has the meat been dry or over cooked and the staff messed up my order once. Overall I like the place for what it's worth. It's a perfect place for a hard working person to eat. Family friendly as well. They got stuff your kids may like. It's no Michelin star restaurant but for the price and portion of food it's worth a visit if you haven't already tried it. They serve the food pretty fast and it's not always packed but during lunch time it may be a bit of a wait. The chef is prepared and kitchen looks up to par so I don't mind the wait if there is one. This is one of those places that feels a bit rundown; almost as if there are people living in this restaurant. You can see various shelves that have boxes of filled with supplies. There's even a very old non-flat screen TV in the back. There's a bike chained up inside the dining area. I ended up ordering a plate which included fries, a side salad, rice, and chicken teriyaki. This is one of those meals where it didn't feel like it was made with any "love." It's a bit hard to explain but it feels like they bought all this food from a frozen section of a grocery store and followed the instructions on their packaging to the letter. It made the food feel quite average. There's a large amount of food too. I finished only about 80% of it before I got full and it cost me $9.81. I will say that I found a long strand of hair in my food which was quite gross; they really should be using hairnets. read more
