Authentic Sichuan style cuisine like these soup dumplings that are thin skined and larger than typical others that are juicy with tasty filing, compared to Din Tai Fung these are just as good but larger and cheaper and no waiting. Can't resist the delicious tea smoked duck which is only found at a very few restaurants. The green pepper fish filet soup that has the mala numbing sensation as opposed to the chili hot spice. It is also a gem and the portion they serve is enough for 4 to 6 people, but you can take home leftovers and it reheats well.

So impressed with Tasty China! Never underestimate this Chinese food place! We ordered the beef roll, vegetable XLB, dry pot cauliflower, and salt & pepper fish fillet--everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The lady staff recommended the dry pot cauliflower and she didn't disappoint. It ended up being our favorite dish. Great food and great service! Definitely coming back.

Torrance Food Crawl #441 Tasty China is tucked away to the side of the Ramada Inn on PCH. I'm sure there are many people staying at the Ramada who pop in here and discover that, yes, this is a Chinese restaurant, but it's skews toward the authentic Chinese side with some dishes that are very much on the spicy side. I remember one visit where I had ordered the Boiled Spicy Sliced Fish. The menu showed two chili peppers, indicating it was very spicy, and yes, it was very spicy. The large quantity of chili oil and Szechuan peppers left my mouth tingling in a delightfully spicy way. Sitting to my side were an elderly couple who found the menu challenging, and they ended up ordering some orange chicken and fried rice, something familiar to them. Too bad they missed out on an opportunity to try some dishes that they probably won't be able to find wherever their hometown is located. I've also enjoyed some of the other soups. The House Wonton Soup came with a dozen wontons in the hot soup base. Simple, but tasty. One of the main aspects that I like about the menu is that there are many items not found in a more Americanized Chinese restaurant. For instance, Squirrel Fish, a battered white fish covered with a sweet sauce. Or, Dry Pot Bullfrog, with frog legs, vegetables, and lotus root - perhaps not the 'best' item on the menu, but I'm glad it was there so that I could widen my taste experiences. The Stir Fried Chicken with Chili Pepper was another spicy dish I liked. Lots of vegetables with the chicken chopped up in chunks, in a Chinese manner. I understand that this is a traditional technique that makes the chicken much easier to fry in a wok, but the downside is that you have to eat around bones in almost every chunk of chicken. Not too annoying, however, as this was one of my favorite dishes here. The lunch specials are a good deal. For $12-14 you get an entree, spring roll, soup, and steamed rice. Plenty enough for a meal. On most of my visits here, it's been somewhat quiet, but on some weekends, it can be very busy when people show up for group lunches or dinners. The service has always been excellent, and for the less experimental folks, you can ask for a fork without getting embarrassed. There is very little parking right in front of the restaurant, but you can park further back in one of the Ramada Inn parking spaces.

Tasty China is one of few Chinese restaurants in this part of neighborhood and replaced Lee's Kitchen in October 2024. [Parking]: Limited parking near the storefront and I wasn't too sure whether I could park right next to Ramada's lot, but I had no other options so I just parked at the lot & my car wasn't towed after a hour. There's a sign at the entrance stating "additional parking in back". [Menu]: Mostly Shanghainese style food. Top highlighted items are Xiao Long Bao (aka soup dumplings), Beef Noodle Soup, Pan Fried Pork Buns, and other stir-fried dishes. [Food]: It was a classic banquet style setup for my experience and overall most dishes tasted alright. Cucumber appetizer (free from the restaurant) tasted slightly too salty. Xiao Long Bao had no juice inside. The only somewhat memorable dish was Pan Fried Pork Buns as they actually had some juice inside of buns. [Conclusion]: This is one of those last resort options if you are not able to book at table at Din Tai Fung in Del Amo Shopping Center in Torrance as the wait could be up to 2+ hours. Personally this restaurant is not quite up to the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) standards.

Food came out quickly, was fresh and hot. The cucumber was super salty and the server took it back to fix it. Beef chow fun was on the bland side but the beef was well marinaded A little bit of soysauce & sambal made a big difference. Dry sautéed green beans were really tasty & garlicky, beef noodle soup was also good and just the right amount of five spice. The chili wonton is really good too. The panfried pork bun and soup dumplings are super juicy and filling. The restaurant is clean and not that big as it is next to the Ramada. Parking is limited. Definitely worth coming back.

Basic Chinese restaurant attached to the Ramada Inn on Pacific Coast Hwy. We ordered honey walnut shrimp and vegetable chow fun. Order came quickly. Vegetable chow fun was tasty. The shrimp was good but needed more mayo or whatever they have on it. Portions were large. Not sure if I'll return. Service was below average. Never was asked if we needed anything after food was delivered.

This is not your ordinary Chinese take-out. It's the real deal. Prices may seem high but it's so reasonable. I ordered the Typhoon Shrimp. I didn't see it listed on their updated menu but they still offered it. Yum if you don't mind working for your food, but optionally. You can consume the outer shell as it is fried to a nice crisp. This was very tasty. We also ordered the lunch size pork with rice. This was just enough rice for the two of us. The hot and sour soup was probably one of the best I've had. We'll be back to try a few other dishes. The place is clean. Service is helpful. Parking spots seem limited but we found parking in their small lot.

First time dinning here. The food is very tasty. We ordered the Pork Chow-Mein and Pork Fried Rice. The service was great. From the outside it looks like a small place but looks are deceiving. Thanks for the great service.

Back at Tasty China for the second time in less than two weeks! Two weeks ago, I visited Tasty China for the first time. It was a weekend, so their lunch specials weren't available. I told myself I'd definitely return to give them a try, and today, I finally did! Their lunch specials are offered Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Since today was a Thursday, it was the perfect opportunity to explore the lunch specials with a friend. Tasty China offers 17 different options for their lunch specials, including classic Chinese favorites like Kung Pao Chicken, Beef or Shrimp, and Mongolian Beef. They also feature popular Taiwanese dishes such as Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa, Rice with Stewed Pork, and Rice with Red-Cooked Pork. Each lunch special comes with a spring roll, daily soup, and steamed rice, priced between $10.99 and $11.99. My friend and I decided to try some traditional Taiwanese dishes. I chose the Rice with Stewed Pork, while my friend went with the Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa. The meal began with the soup of the day, which happened to be hot and sour soup. It was flavorful but packed quite a spicy punch! If you enjoy bold, fiery flavors, you'd love this soup. The vegetable spring roll that accompanied our meals was served hot and fresh. It was crispy and a delightful start to the meal. Now, onto the main dishes! My Rice with Stewed Pork was a standout. The tender pork and savory braised meat sauce were packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the steamed rice. The braised egg was a great addition, complementing the rich, fatty pork wonderfully. Every bite of this dish was indulgent and satisfying. I also sampled my friend's Fried Eggs with Yuba and Luffa, and it was another flavorful success. The fried eggs and luffa were soft and tender, while the yuba added a chewy, slightly spongy texture that contrasted nicely with the other ingredients. The dish had a light yet savory profile, with an excellent balance of flavors and textures. Overall, I'm thrilled to have returned to Tasty China. Their lunch specials are an incredible value, and I'm already looking forward to trying more of their offerings. Next time, I plan to explore some of their classic Chinese dishes. I love how their lunch specials feature a great mix of both Chinese and Taiwanese flavors!

Hours, but they closed from 3-4:30PM

There's a younger server with an athletic build that works Wednesday through Friday there. If you plan to visit this restaurant, please try and have him be your servers. He's really polite and considerate, plus a pleasure to talk to. He can provide you meal suggestions based off your tastes and cravings. The restaurant is always clean, but the tables can be a little close together. For larger groups, there's a room off to the side to accommodate your party. However, must have item is there salt pepper pork short ribs, it's so good!

12/2024- some items are not on this menu

Located where the Ramada is on PCH in the front area. Honestly I'm not sure where to park but there are spots near the restaurant but it was all full due to hotel guests it even people at the restaurant. There are so many menu items but choose 7 different items for pick up. Pretty pricey for the amount of food they give. And it did take longer than quoted for the items to be ready. Fried pork dumplings: pretty good and if you have chili oil at home it would even be better. There is soup inside and the fried crisp bottom was a good texture difference. Green onion pancakes: okay. Flakey almost. Dan Dan noodles: really good! A good kick and chewy noodles. Beef chow fun: stir fried noodles. Good but I expected more of a serving. It's just a black container of noodles while other places would fill a styrofoam. Salt and pepper spare ribs: good but a bit different? Like maybe the pepper was a white pepper I think? Or a different spice. Typhoon shrimp: fried shell on shrimp. Tough... so tough. And you can't even eat the shell like it wasn't fried enough to make it easy to eat. Dry pot cauliflower: had some beef pieces and had some . Overall for over $100 it was mid. Flavor wise some items I liked like the stir fried noodles and pan fried dumplings, even the Dan Dan noodles. Wish they did give more servings for noodles. It was such a small amount to share since its family servings.

Located inside of Ramada hotel complex, the restaurant has changed the ownership and name recently. From outside, the restaurant still looks the same, but the interior went through some remodeling and looks refreshed. The server was very nice and we were seated right away. The menu is quite extensive and below is the list of what we ordered: THE GOOD ONES: Beef Onion Pancakes: the beef were tender and well seasoned, pancakes had good texture and hoishin sauce went very well with the roll. Pork Pan Fried Bun: the pork filling was well seasoned and the outer wrap was well cooked and soft. The pan fried bottom with sesame seed was slightly over burnt. Beef Cube with Pine Nut & Rice Cake: the sauce was light but flavorful. The beef slices (not cubes) were tender. Boiled Shredded Dry Bean Curd: If you like tofu, this dish is for you. The soup is light but flavorful. THE GREAT ONE: Pork Xiao Long Bao, they are huge and I really mean it. The wrap was nicely steamed with the broth juice intact inside. The pork filling is well seasoned and tender. THE STRANGE ONE: Stir Fried Knife Shaved Noodle: it had tomato base sauce and slightly sweet. The dish also had sliced potatoes. THE UNEXPECTED ONES: Squirrel Fish: deep fried fish shape filet topped with crazily bright red sweet and sour sauce. All I can say is wow. The sauce really hit you when you taste it. Duck Blood Soup: Didn't think I would like it, however the duck blood cubes were so smooth and went very well with the sauce/soup. I couldn't stop eating it. Overall, great experience and happy to have another option for Chinese food in South Bay.
