Took my truck to get the gas tank replaced after it was drilled into. They got it done but then a week or so later my check engine light turned on and I took it back and it turns out they ordered & installed the wrong size tank. That's fine, whatever mistakes happen. I take it back for them to fix their mistake and they call me the next day at 1:30pm to tell me it's ready. I was at work, but I left an hour early to be there before they close at 5pm. I pulled up at 4:40pm, gates are closed and there's a security. I ask him if they're closed and he opens the door to check with the workers (I can literally see them just sitting inside talking) -- they say they're closed. I ask "I can't just pick up my truck?" He asks me which truck and opens the door to the workers again and then back to me and says "nah, come back tomorrow". I wasn't mad about the wrong size fuel tank, but I didn't realize I had to call beforehand to ASK the employees to do their job until they actually close at 5pm. Look I get it. I work for a small business in town and we also close at 5, but we wouldn't turn away a customer that comes close to closing out of sheer laziness. They were there, I was there, it shouldn't have been an issue. Reply to owner: I appreciate the response but I answered and told the guy I'd be there before closing, which I was. A while back, I visited this shop for a quote on a valve body repair because my car was revving past 5,000 RPMs at low speeds and etc. I explained the situation to the front desk team, but in hindsight, I probably gave too much detail prior to giving the reason why I was actually here. They understandably assumed I wanted a full diagnosis because of the different issues described rather than just a quote for the valve body repair. And to be honest, that's what the process should be like. Because what if I am wrong about the prognosis, ya know? After dropping off my car, I later received a call letting me know they don't work on transmission-valve body replacements and was charged for the diagnostic, along with a recommendation to another shop. At the time, it felt like I paid for a referral, which didn't sit right with me. Recently, I came back to discuss this with the owner, Richard. We had a great conversation and agreed it was simply a misunderstanding during a very busy day. Keep in mind that Richard is also not the person who took my car in. I am sure if he was there when I first walked in, he would have recommended me elsewhere. But what stood out to me was Richard's professionalism and integrity. You have no idea how easily he could have said "no" to my visit today because at the end of the day I signed off on the paperwork prior to handing off the keys. But instead, he took the time to hear me out and make things right--not because of the money, but because he truly cares about the customer. That kind of passion and commitment is rare in the industry, and it's clear he's one of the only ones to have maintained it for however long he's been in the business, respectfully. That said, the shop itself is spacious and welcoming, not cramped like some places that make you feel rushed. Poor communication. For customers with a Check Engine light or diagnostic needs, let me share something that I wasn't told by them: BE PREPARED TO LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE THERE ALL DAY. I was told they don't take appointments but that they work on a "first come first served basis." This is misleading. I was the first customer in the door at 7:30 and I watched them service 2 vehicles that arrived after me while mine sat in the parking lot. I waited for 1.5 hours and asked for my keys back. They said they only have certain technicians designated for diagnostics and that person was "working on a car from yesterday," that the vehicles being serviced before mine "were just oil changes." I called later in the day and spoke with owner Christina who was apologetic and said she would work with the staff on communication. Unfortunately that does nothing for the time I wasted. Had they been up front initially about how long it would have taken I would've arranged a ride or picked a place that offered firm appointment times. read more

Melissa at the front desk was nice and courteous. The place was clean and tidy. I do love the interior decor. There are neat touches too, like The Avengers arcade machine. There are vending machines also, which is nice. The mechanic/techs are friendly as well. Perlu was upfront about everything which makes me trust them. They told me what to expect, how they will approach the service, and gave me a quote. With that said, the pricing was very reasonable, especially for a 5-star business who backs up their work with warranty. I was actually surprised they didn't charge me more for labor. I went in for brake service. They let me know exactly what the condition of my brakes were. Another business would've just said I needed to change all of my brakes, but Perlu told me I had 90% left on my rear pads. No sketchy stuff here, just an honest business. I know how to work on cars but sometimes you just don't feel like it. I usually never feel like working on cars, but I HAVE been lately because of sketchy shops (who don't actually change your oil). You don't have to worry about that at Perlu. Now that I found a place I could trust, I can pay for the service instead, which is worth it to me because working on cars can be a headache. So far so good. Came here to get an oil change and had a free brake inspection. I was overdue for a new set of brakes and probably rotors anyways and so I had that done, and they had a cost effective option of resurfacing the rotors instead so I went with that. And recommended cleaning of the rear drum brakes which I have still 50% left. I may come back later on doing more work, and they work with Snap! Finance and I believe a couple other finance partners. Though I'm approved under snap! I'm thinking about what to do (like struts front and back). Anyway a total wait time of about 3 hours; just went over and had some breakfast nearby at a cafe across the street. read more

Took my 2016 Chrysler 200 here in December. Once they determined what the problem was they quoted me a great price to repair. I know it was great because my mom encouraged me to call around first before proceeding forward with repair. They also helped with payment by offering snap loan which came in handy as it was the Christmas holiday season. They also filled my tire to recommended PSI as the light went off the same morning I dropped the car off. My car has been working great ever since. Honda Dealer, expensive to diagnose and if they do the work there is no "giveback" from diagnostic dollars. Other place was abrupt and rude "we charge $110 an hour, what else do you need to know." I was referred to Perlu by Jiffy lube. My wife's Honda needed to replace or rethread the oil pan in order to have the oil changed. Visited Perlu around 7:30am since it's a first come basis and to my surprise was relieved knowing our car was going to be worked on same day despite how busy they seemed. At first for the inspection I was going to be charged $60, however, it was waived since I agreed to have them replace the oil pan & I also received a little discount off of my total amount. This place charged me $135.00 for a diagnostic and $558.63 for repairs and did not properly fix my car, I went to JC auto and got my EGR VAL replaced the day before bring my car to Perlu. My car did not want to accelerate so I took my car to Perlu. Richard the owner decided to put a hole in my brand new egr val because he said my rear cat converter is clogged and the air needed to go some where else in order for the car to drive. As a license mechanic he was wrong for damaging and rigging my car and not fixing it the correct way. I took my car to another shop and they replaced my egr val and break booster and my car was fine. Richard the owner refuses to give me my full refund back and says he did what he had to do. Richard is not a honest mechanic and he's purposely damaging customers cars And portraying to fix them to make money off ppl which causes more car problems in the future. read more
