I appreciate that they have an online appointment system. Once we are confirmed we received a text with our appointment time. And then we also received another text asking if we would like to be put on their waitlist for an earlier appointment. An earlier time did pop up and I received another text. Careful. They will inappropriately overcharge you by freezing way more AKs than necessary, just to boost up the bill. I used to pay $120-200 per visit. My last visit they charged me 2.5x. You think you can trust practices like this, then they scam you when you're not looking. read more

Wow. This place is so confused. I've been going back and forth with Cassandra Harris, medical assistant, that has no clue of medical terminology. Due to the confusion I asked to speak with the doctor and told her that I was going to contact the office manager as well with my concern. Now I see in our text notes that she actually deleted a very important part of our conversation. I know this because I started screenshoting our conversation. The doctor, Elliott Call, did call me tonight with a bit of a bullish attitude. First he said that he didn't see anything wrong in the transcript of the conversation between Cassandra and myself. I therefore read it to him with the deleted part and told him that I screenshot everything. At first he said that things can get lost in translation over text. I stated there was no getting lost with the incorrect description of basic terminology over and over again by his assistant. He replied still with a bullish tone bringing up that he was calling me on a Friday night at 5:30. He did however agree that the staff needed additional training. In my mind this is very concerning when a medical assistant doesn't understand medical terminology that even the every day person can grasp by a quick internet search. It is also scary when the doctor seemed to be trying to protect her wrongdoing. Basically she was giving me the wrong results from my biopsy. My next step is to get my sample reviewed by another facility as I have lost all trust in this establishment. read more

Will start by saying that Dr. Greenberg is a great doctor and I have been seeing him for many years and more than satisfied with his service and care. Saying that, I am giving low rating because of the negative experience with a person who works at the front desk. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to find out her name (she is wearing glasses and sits on the right hand side of the front desk ). She was rude and unprofessional. Wait time was over 25 minutes and there were other patients, including 84 years old woman with an earlier appointment time, who were waiting over 30 minutes. No apologies or explanation were offered as what would be the wait time. When I finally asked what consider to be " little behind" (she used that phrase when someone else asked her about wait time), that person used her hands to talk to me, accused me to be disrespectful after I told her not to talk to me in that manner, and told me that next time I can choose to talk to someone else... simply because I asked her a legitimate question. The behavior of that person was unacceptable and the fact that she can talk in this manner with patients only tells me that it's not her first time. Very poor representation of the rest of the staff. If you don't like people or communicating with them in a nice way, just don't work in this line of business. read more

Honestly so disappointed. They do not care about their patients at all. I had an appointment with Marie Goh. Both the doctors and receptionists were extremely careless. My appointment felt very rushed and the doctor didn't even properly analyze my skin she was ready to just prescribe just any medication that didn't even align with my skin concerns. I'm very unsatisfied with this dermatologist and would not recommend to anyone. read more

"I have been recommending Golden State dermatology, which is the office of Dr. Robert Greenburg, for over 30 years now. There is no better dermatologist here in the San Francisco Bay area, Possibly here in California. I know because my brother, a doctor in another state, reached out to find the best on the West Coast. He was pretty surprised to find that there was a newcomer to the medical community that quickly raced through the ranks and was known as quite possibly the best dermatologist the Stanford university had at the time. Dr. Robert Greenburg reviewed my case and quickly found the time to get me in to see him. He grew cultures to find out what aggressive strain was attacking my body. Over the years, I've been told by so many doctors and medical Institutions that Dr. Robert Greenberg is the best and brightest dermatologist here in the San Francisco Bay area. I have yet to find any medical professional who has anything negative about him. Anytime I bring up Dr. Robert Greenburg's name in a conversation with a medical professional. I get smiles, handshakes, and people telling me how lucky I am to be able to work as one of Stanford's best dermatologists. This man has saved my life over 30 years ago. My daughter would not be here today and my son would have grown up without a father. If it were not for the outside-of-the-box thinking that Robert Greenburg had at that time. I do not typically do reviews for anybody. But this one is a no-brainer. This man and his staff deserve recognition for their outstanding services for me and so many people. I am proud to know this man. The only thing I can think of that cannot be in his favor is he seems to be a workaholic and does so much for his patience. 5+ stars! I met Dr Greenburg to take care of a suspicious mole which he removed swiftly and painlessly. He was pleasant and kept the whole appointment light - which I appreciated. After the biopsy, it was clear I needed additional work that Dr. Call performed. The atmosphere was comforting and Dr. Call was very communicative so I knew exactly what was going on throughout the procedure. My GP made this recommendation and I'm so glad he did. Super rude receptionists, forced me to buy goggles for UV-B when all the others furnish them. It took them over 30 minutes to get me in and then when the tech then came in, she tried to get me to apply vaseline for something I didn't even have. It was clear that she didn't even look at my chart. Nasty experience and I will never go there again!! read more

I have the worst experience trying to get my daughter's prescription in a timely manner. One of the office staff was rude when I tried to explain what I need it help with! Them my message somehow got sent to another person in the Livermore office! The worst customer service EVER! She was snippy and abrupt on the phone! I am a nurse working in healthcare and I was literally in tears after how I was treated by these people! Not a cent of kindness let alone customer service skills! I really enjoyed my time here and know how helpful another yelper's review was in me finding Dr. Greenberg so I wanted to take the time to write a review. I went to Golden State after really struggling to get a firm price point on a small procedure with Kaiser, I spent hours on the phone, no one could help me, I was going to pay out of pocket anyway so why not turn to private practice. It felt nice to be back in a small office after years of going to Kaiser via work insurances. Dr. Greenberg's office was accessible. Prior to booking an appointment I got a thorough breakdown on pricing and billing and more of a number of what to expect from a ten minute phone call-already a huge improvement from the hours spent jumping from one rep to the other with kaiser. Dr. Greenberg was super nice, punny, old school good at his job and worked with me on pricing. His Medical Assistant Lauren was great, she helped out for all three of my appointments. Dr. Call checked in during stiches removal, Lauren took them out apologetically and without puking. Also they are moving offices which is exciting. The women who run his front office are efficient which I'd take any day over friendliness but these ladies are also pretty nice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR BOTOX. I went and got botox here and it didn't take. I'm a nurse so I knew something was up. I went in to talk to the nurse who had injected it and she admitted, yes I was right, something had gone wrong with the botox. Since I wasn't particularly keen on trying it again with another round of ineffective botox I asked for a refund for the $448 I had spent. I was told I couldn't have a refund as it was "services rendered" Even though in their contract you sign it clearly states it should last 3-4 months. The manager Garratt was rude and wildly unhelpful and took ages to return any phone calls and I ended up having to chase him to eventually receive nothing. I won't ever go back here for anything cosmetic or dermatologic. I found another great place right next door at Dr. Korman's. Go see Hannah there. She's amazing. read more

Unprofessional and worst dermatological practice I've encountered. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was made to wait almost an hour. The medical assistant who checked me in was rude, acted like I was a bother for her to check-in and wouldn't even make eye contact while talking to me. I had to peek out after 45 minutes to see if they forgot me. Dr. Call came in and basically rushed through my treatment which took about 2 minutes of his time - all that waiting just so he could take a minute to spray liquid nitrogen on my skin and then the same rude medical assistant handed me a piece of paper without even bothering to check if I had any other questions. The only positive was the receptionist who at least had the decency to apologize as I was leaving for making me wait. read more

Probably I'm not quite right in the head or plain off my rocker! To drive 200 miles round trip from Santa Rosa to San Ramon, at least twice a year for the last 7 years to see my dermatologist, meant saying a lot for my doc! Dr. Greenberg hails from NY like me and we both have helluva time entertaining each other with our dry senses of humor that not everyone appreciates. But he is good, in fact darn good in the field of dermatology and particularly his specialty in psoriasis. I haven't seen him in over a year when I had other pressing medical issues, until a cluster of skin inflammations in my groin (of all places) were causing me tremendous grief, discomfort, pain and mobility. In the meantime, Dr Greenberg sold his practice to Golden State Dermatology, a leading medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in the skin and hair. The previous staff and office of Dr. Greenberg remained the same I was introduced to Ms Marie Goh who was the Physician Assistant. It was inexplicable that I instinctively trusted her right off the bat and her "it-won't-hurt-a-bit" assurance! She mentioned a procedure "Incisions and Drainage", which sounded painful and gross. Just do it I mumbled to myself! I had my eyes closed and I could tell the difference between the gentle and soft touches of Ms Goh versus the more forceful, purposeful and unemotional hands of the master. I returned for a follow up visit 2 weeks later and the wounds and healing were all copasetic. This time though there was something else bugging Ms Goh more than it did me. There was an unsightly skin tag growing from my lower ear lobe like a cheap earring. She could snip that off in a jiffy and she guaranteed me only minimal bleeding. (I'm on a blood thinner). I tended to be easily upsold by a lady and interestingly, she was right - no bleeding! I'm a little too old and of the wrong gender to be interested in anti-aging, cosmetic skin care and body contouring! And for those of you, who are in need of psoriatic care and other skin problems or God forbid skin cancer, look no further if you're within a hundred miles radius of San Ramon! I wish to give props to Dr. Greenberg, Ms Goh for their competence and professionalism and without forgetting the cordial and helpful Medical Assistants, Cerai and Bella for assisting during the procedure. By the luck of the draw I found my ideal dermatologist! First and foremost Dr. Gosh is amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable and after years of trying she was able to identify what my issue was and began treatment. I had severe acne in the back of my neck! One of my greatest insecurities that lasted nearly 2 decades. And she was able to address it and I instantly saw a difference! She has a gift of making me feel welcome and comfortable, and she also makes it pleasant when she is injecting me in my head lol! Shout out to Henna the MA who is always very sweet and attentive! I have been seeing Dr. Greenberg, now part of Golden State Dermatology, for many years. I very much appreciate his manner, no nonsense, tell it like it is. He has treated me for a couple of things over the years, always completely taken care of them. I've had psoriasis and, taking his advice, I've been getting laser treatment for it. The physician's assistant, Ms. Tan, has completely cleared up my elbows, and the knees are greatly improved and will probably be clear soon. She's always very charming and pleasant. Others have typically given me "sunburn" with the laser, but never Ms. Tan. Also, her aide, Lauren, has been so nice, always cleaning the required protective glasses so carefully. Even the staff at the counter has come to know me, greeting me every morning and taking care of all the appointments. Dr. Greenberg was introduced to me in 1999 when I arrived in the US by my mother. If you're seeking someone who knows everything to do with dermatology, you found the right place. On multiple occasions, I have been treated after sun exposure because of a rare allergy to the sun, and each time I have been treated by no other than doctor Greenberg. My mom always recommends him to friends and family, and now, I am recommending him and his team to the public. My daughter has been referred to see a dermatologist due to her condition, but of course, after speaking with my daughters' Stanford Children's Pediatrician Specialist regarding her needs due to Humira and prednisone intake for her condition, I decided not to see anyone other than Dr. Greenberg instead of her Specialists recommendation. Why seek other doctors when your entire family and friends had a positive experience for decades? If you need a dermatologist, do yourself a favor and make the appointment. I'm currently rescheduling to go back after our family vacation because of the high amount of sun exposure in Florida. Trust me, the best doctor with many years of experience should be your choice! The clinic is good, front desk person Tina is awesome, doctor Goh was really good and kind, but the back office ordering of medication is not good whatsoever. They use some kind of online provider and you are at their mercy to send you a text and then go a link and do all the extra work in just getting your prescribed medicine. Even after that it's a coin toss if you will get your medicine or not, it can be a week, 2 weeks or never. And there is no follow up from the clinic on this and you are on your own trying to call various people. Very frustrating. The service suppose to be easy and fast but this is opposite to say the least. read more
