Dr. Ellis is an absolute magician. I love this woman. Two years ago I got a VERY bad sunburn. My face had healed, but it looked like there was NO collagen left and 46 years worth of sun damage had decided to make its appearance. Day after day I would look in the mirror and just want to break down crying. I didn't even recognize my skin. I decided to go to Dr. Ellis after seeing her YT videos. She seemed like she knew what she was doing and she was in my geographical area. I also LOVED the fact that she is a cosmetic derm that gets procedures done, but still looks 100% natural. I wanted someone I could trust to keep me looking human. BEST DECISION EVER! She mapped out a plan for me to start with Fraxel lasers. After each session I could see my skin firming up a bit. Then she helped me with Botox to brighten up my face (slight eye brow lift, lip flip, and Tech neck). Now we are doing VBeam and going after the redness. I have struggled with blushing and flushing my ENTIRE life and watching the redness (in my face, neck, and chest) get lighter and lighter after each VBeam session is absolutely life changing. Next...we plan to go after the brown hyperpigmentation and sun spots. This woman is amazing and a total GODSEND. I love that she's dealt with a lot of the same issues I'm dealing with, so she knows how it feels AND she knows how to treat them. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I'm honestly surprised to see some of these negative reviews, but I suppose it will depend on your condition. I recall the first time I went around 2020, I was taken care of by Dr. Potozkin himself. I happen to read news articles online how he was big in SoCal and he had celebrity clientele. I went to a dermatology chain in the bay after seeing a couple of doctors, I got fed up and needed someone new. When I went, my first thought was, "Why are all of their nurses and assistants so attractive?!" Then I met Dr. Potozkin. No BS, he handled my problem not only thoroughly, but relatively fast too. And the cost with insurance was so much lower than my other visits to other clinics COMBINED. Then I went again in late 2024, but only this time, it was with a physician assistant named by Heather Nudo. I went there for Potozkin, so I was a little disappointed and scared the quality of care may not be up to par. I was wrong. Heather analyzed the issue, provided an opinion, and gave me options. She took care of me relatively fast, and then scheduled a follow-up for no charge. I was tremendously satisfied with the work. So now, I am under the impression that everyone at that office could take care of me. The only downside is how far the place is, given how I live in the South Bay. Wish they had another branch around here. This place is my go-to. read more

My regular skin cancer screenings and preventive appointments with Charlene Boatright are so reassuring! Charlene is very thorough, careful and knowledgable about any skin-related issues that come up. I feel so confident in her approach and appreciate her emphasis on education and engagement. She's an encyclopedia of skin insights! The medical assistants in this office all are very professional and upbeat. You'll meet them when prepping for an appointment and possibly during the treatment itself. HORRENDOUS NIGHTMARE!!!!! Caitlin gave worst facial ever had, total waste of time and money I have never had acne in my life but after the facial I broke out with bacteria-ridden cysts. Went to Urgent Care and then was referred to a specialist and was told it is from dirty tools and improper techniques. The front office manager Courtney is the most miserable person I have EVER met!!! So rude and treats the customers like garbage. she yells at them and has major attitude and all reviews I read agree with this.. I had my initial cosmetic dermatology consultation with Dr. Ellis which was booked more than 6 months in advance due to how busy their clinic is. I was so looking forward to this appointment since I use Dr. Ellis's Prequel skincare line and watch her YouTube videos. I thought the appointment itself was good, and I left the visit with a 3 month treatment plan. It went downhill from there. After I left, I realized I didn't have a follow-up appointment scheduled so I called the office to ask about this. I received a message on the patient portal in response stating that if my skin condition didn't improve, I should see Dr. Wall instead since I am Asian and Dr. Wall, also an Asian woman, is the clinic's "Asian skin specialist." In order to see her though, I would have to pay another $250 new patient consultation fee. I was not given an option to follow-up with Dr. Ellis. It felt like - sorry, you're not white, so you can see someone else. During my initial appointment, I was advised to consider the Clear and Brilliant or PicoWay laser treatment. I went ahead and tried to book this, knowing that the consultation fee that I already paid could be applied to the cost of the treatment. I called to schedule the Clear and Brilliant (they were booked out the next 4 months) and received an appointment confirmation through the patient portal which indicated a provider who I was not familiar with. It turns out this was the nurse who works with Dr. Ellis. I expressed reservations about a laser treatment with a nurse who I have never met, who is not even listed on their website under staff member, and who was initially touted by the front desk staff as having "many years of experience" which upon further clarification ended up being "maybe 2 years." I requested laser treatment by a dermatologist, after all, I thought that was the whole point for going to a dermatology clinic as opposed to any other medispa. Also, $650 for a single treatment is not a small amount of money. I was told that the dermatologists don't perform such a "basic" laser treatment and they didn't think it would matter anyway since it probably wouldn't do me much good (or harm). When I asked for the other laser treatment that had been recommended to me, PicoWay, I was told that it's no longer recommended. By the way, the PicoWay is performed by the dermatologists and the price I was quoted was actually cheaper for the PicoWay compared to the Clear and Brilliant. Apparently, Dr. Wall is able to do all of the laser treatments, but since I did not see her for my initial consultation, I could not request her to do my laser treatments unless I pay another $250 consultation fee for a "second opinion." Had I known that the dermatologist I would be seeing would not actually be the one doing the treatment, I probably wouldn't haven't booked the initial consultation with her or this clinic. This was not transparent at all during the booking process. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff, they basically said, too bad. In retrospect, I remember the process of getting an initial consultation was quite a hassle since they don't respond to your email/website request for an appointment and when you call, there's no information given except the date of the next available appointment with X, Y or Z person. I ended up canceling any treatments after this whole ordeal. I was surprised by the lack of transparency from the front desk staff, the breakdown of communication between the staff and clinicians which is then relayed as misinformation to patients, and the seeming unwillingness to follow-up with patient treatment plans or turfing patients to another provider. Overall, my first time seeing a dermatologist was quite disappointing, but now I know better. read more

I scheduled a consult with Dr. Ellis. I love her YouTube channel and was excited to meet her in person. I waited for her inside the room for more than 25 minutes, and when she finally got in, with no apology, and with an assistant with her, she made me feel rushed and uncomfortable. She and her assistant were wearing masks. While I can totally understand their fear of getting sick, this is a skin care clinic, and not an urgent care waiting room, and their faces are also their "business card" in a way, as they sell aesthetics. After the 7 minutes "consult" in which I felt rushed and did not appreciate the fact that I was not talking to Dr. Ellis, but also to the assistant (yes, I needed privacy, and no one asked me or told me that there will be an extra person in the room), I got my treatment. Before that I was notified about the price and was a bit shocked by the price tag. They do not charge by the unit for Botox, but by the area (when divided to units in was ~$21 per unit, which is A LOT), and their reasoning is that if I will need any corrections, it will be included in the price. Well, If the doctor knows what they are doing and is listening to the patient's wants, than usually you do not need corrections. I should have left but I already paid a lot for the consult, so I stayed, as the price for the consult was deducted from the price for the Botox. My Botox looked great, like it looked with any other dermatologist that did it before, but it lasted only 2 months instead of the usual 3. Not sure why, but it clearly doesn't matter, as I plan to never go back. read more

I have been going to Dr Potozkin for about 5 yrs, for filler for lips and parenthesis ( lines from nose to mouth) with the pandemic I was absent for 2+ yrs. since I wear a mask everywhere i go, I saw no need for the injections, I went in recently for a sun rash I couldn't alleviate for 2 weeks. Dr.P. examined it, and prescribed some topicals, I applied the Rx that evening and by the next day, rash was 95% gone. As I write this it is 100% gone. Also the filler for the lines, injections were 100% painless and this time there wasn't even one little bruise at the injection sites. Dr. P. assistant is so nice, comforting and and applied the numbing topical expertly and effectively . Some assistants can apply too much & it drips too close to your mouth so you can taste it, and it doesn't numb well that way.. Dr Potozkin's assistants are meticulous. Dr P. is nice, professional, really knows his stuff, he's funny and every visit at his office is a pleasure, and the results are beyond. This is an office visit I always look forward too, and always leave pleased and happy with the results. :) read more

Dr. Potozkin and the entire staff are all highly trained and professional. I come here for everything from my general dermatology needs to hydra facials and laser treatments to botox. The medical assistants are all really nice and fun to chat with. He helped dissolve bad filler from Prestige Med and used an ultrasound machine to find the placement of the filler so he knew exactly where it was. He sees both my daughters for their general teenager skin needs and has been seeing my stepdad for over 15 years! Sarah has done my IPL laser treatments and is wonderful as well. I had been here a handful of times for Botox over the past few years and decided to invest in other skin treatments in the year leading up to a milestone birthday. Here's what happened: First, had a hydrafacial with dermaplaning with the esthetician here. She dermaplaned into my hair across my whole hairline, leaving me with a row of stubbly little hairs that are still growing in. Three months later, had Botox in my forehead and around my eyes and was left with one droopy eyebrow. A month after that, had an IPL laser treatment (which was prepaid so I had to go back), and was burned on my chest, which was so painful and left red rectangular marks. By the time these marks faded, my chest was still pink - so not really better off than I was pre-laser. I reported all of these things to their office. I received a refund for the facial, but that's it. I don't love leaving negative reviews, but would hate for anyone else to have even one of these things happen to them before a special event. read more

This review pertains to Dr. Barry Waldman, whom I saw today for the first time. Dr. Waldman asked all the right questions and, though obviously a busy man he answered all my questions thoroughly. We in effect "reasoned together" toward what I believe is a correct diagnosis of my problem. In addition he dealt effectively with an unexpected problem, which did not throw him off his stride in the slightest. It was obvious that Waldman has a wealth of experience behind him and I'm confident we're on the right track. I intend to follow his advice to the letter with the expectation that, when I see him again, I'll have substantial progress to report. A nice touch was the fact that when I left the office I had with me a paper listing the five most important recommendations from the visit, Based upon other recent experiences with dermatologists I was prepared for a cosmetics sales pitch somewhere along the line. Wow! My face feels absolutely amazing!!! I just left Julee at Potozkin MD. We did my first facial ever and the one that caught my eye was the hydra-facial. So today I tried a HydraFacial and it was so refreshing and such a relaxing positive experience I immediately scheduled a second session. So first I must commend Julee for her customer service and exceptional bed side manner. I had no idea what to expect and what to expect to feel as I went through this experience. Well first timers....have no fear, ask for Julee when you schedule and she will provide clear communication as she goes through the process and each step, consistently checking on how my skin was feeling, pressure, moisture, you name it! I let Julee know that I am not the best at my skin care regimen and I needed some guidance. She didn't skip a beat, she kindly walked me through some quality habits I need to develop to get the best look out of my skin. I have facial acne scarring and was given strong encouragement by Dr. Potozkin that using the Dual Laser treatment would show good results after 5 treatments. After 3 treatments, the scarring on both sides of my face became more noticeable and my right side became even more scarred. Of course, I was told that it wasn't any worse and what I needed was additional laser with increased intensity. Needless to say I declined. Fillers were then used but unfortunately my face looked worse. It is critical to do some serious research of both the physicians and the proceedures before proceeding. 5 stars does not do justice to the experience I had today at Potozkin MD. A more accurate rating would be 100 stars. I saw Dr. Ellis for my first ever cosmetic procedure (Botox + filler). She listened very closely to all of my concerns and my goals. I felt like she was on the same page as me and knew exactly what I wanted. She helped me come up with a long term plan that would continue to benefit me through the years to come. When it came time to begin the treatment, her and her assistant Alyssa were SO supportive.
