Finally got my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out, it was a 1-3 hour wait but it was worth it because once they start the procedure your in n then your out. Depending on your pain tolerance it will go by fast. Doctor and staff were amazing, thanks to Natalie for being such a big help towards this process. If you've ever been to Western Dental, this place is VERY similar. It sucks!!! Scheduled an appointment for consultation for partial dentures. First off, during a pandemic, unlike other offices, they do not do any COVID screening. Second off, the dentist is so busy that he does not spend enough time diagnosing the patient. I've been to 3 other dentists for dentures consultation so when I went here, I felt like he didn't do a thorough consultation. I kept asking "what about this and that" questions and he's like "oh you're right". He totally neglected needing to extract a wisdom teeth "oh I didn't see that". Lastly THE PHONE SERVICE/RECEPTIONISTS suck!!! Be prepared to wait FOREVER to get ahold of someone and if you do get ahold of them, they'll put you on HOLD FOREVER!!! 1 star because I have no choice and because they at least saw me at the scheduled appointment time. read more

I was refer to this place by my dentist. Although i am not yet a patient, all the negative reviews are spot on regarding to not calling back and especially playing game with patients who have medical/denti-cal. I called this place to see a periodontist in Feb 2020. They said that the periodontist won't take on client until April 2020. I called the dentil-cal providers directory to get another periodontist. The operator told me that the periodontist at the Golden State Smiles see clients as of Fed 14, 2020. I told the operator that it was not the case. The operator called golden state smiles then he told me to go to the office so make appointment. I went to the office with the referral within 15 minutes of the call. The front desk told me the same lie (not take on clients until april 2020). I told her that a representative of Dentil cal just called the office 15 minutes ago then told me to come to the office. She was stunned for I told her that [according to the representative] the periodontist should be back from vacation by now. she took my referral, went to the back office, then told me that she added me to the waiting list and will call. Whenever I call for a follow up, they put me on hold. I gave up after three tries. Who knows I might contact dentil cal and suggest that it should considering doing business with this horrible company read more

I'm not a great patient when it comes to treatment. I don't numb well and even though I've always taken care of my teeth the drill has always terrified me. Dr. Mo was funny and connective, putting me at ease. He was with me through the whole experience, letting me know what was normal and what was not and I enjoyed my whole experience from beginning to end. Very irresponsible front staff. Called to get an appointment for my wife. I was able to schedule one at 8am in the morning on a weekday a little more than a week later. Awesome. I was then told they'll call me in a few days to follow up with a cost and confirm to confirm the appointment. NEVER CALLED. I called them the day before the appointment and was then told the insurance info was wrong. So I provide them the insurance info again and was told they'll call back in an hour. NEVER CALLED BACK. I called them again to confirm and was told everything is fine. We get to the clinic. Had us waiting for 2 HOURS. They then call us and asks us if we brought the patient info sheet to the front. They completely screwed up my jaw and I am still having problems a month after my wisdom teeth surgery. They are money hungry and will not see me unless I pay them for a followup. I love the doctors and staff at this office. They always make patients feel comfortable and relaxed, regardless of the procedure.

I called in this office and confirmed that they would be able to do digital xrays for me through my insurance. I went in and the front desk girl was too busy talking about her boyfriend(s) then concern with her job. The technician that came in the X-ray room to do xrays did not look like she wanted to be at work. All the sudden I had the Sheriff of the office (this big woman slicking her paper work at me while explaining..) approach me and tell me "we have had a misunderstanding and we cannot do the xrays". All this cause I was going to get work done elsewhere from the interogation by big momma sheriff chick. This place did not put a smile on my face that's for sure and found another place who will do what I need without this nonsense. This place reminded me of my ESL class (English as a second language), they were speaking in Mexican dialect at work and when I heard English, it was all around their dating scene.. READ ME !!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Honestly this was beyond the worst experience I have ever had in ANY customer service experience I went in on Monday and made the appointment a month in advance for a typical check up, cleaning and fill. Apparently they didn't have time for the cleaning or fill and I needed to come back Tuesday for the cleaning and Wednesday for a fill which is fine because an hour a day was better than 3-4 hours on Monday. When I got quoted the prices before I left they tried to charge me 80% of the price and my insurance 20% so I wanted to call my insurance company to confirm if that was correct. Why pay for insurance if it doesn't cover enough of your services right? So after speaking to my insurance I was indeed correct I was only supposed to be paying 20% and my insurance was supposed to be paying 80%. When I went in on Tuesday morning and explained that my chart was done incorrectly and it needed to be adjusted the woman at the front desk acted as if I was lying and trying to get over on paying the higher price which was incorrect. The woman at the front desk spoke to the office manager that quoted the prices for services and said they would need to fix it it could take an hour to a day to 3 days to be fixed so I left and had to reschedule my appointment for Tuesday to Thursday. The girl at the front desk said they would call me by 4 p.m. that day to confirm my chart was updated as I never got a call I assumed my appointment was canceled. The girl at the front desk with the SF tattoo on her arm is so unprofessional, untrained and unfriendly. I had to call them myself Tuesday after 4pm to make sure my chart was fixed but as she was already unpleasant to work with I asked to speak to the office manager which is apparently the women who quotes you on prices as well and the front desk girl continuously kept saying well is there something I can help you with in a condenseding voice. I politely explained no I would like to speak to your manager and she started up with the well is there something I can help you with being extremely rude so I hung up I assumed if it was fixed that they would have called. We are now at Wednesday morning and I called just to confirm my appointment was canceled of course it was not again speaking to the woman at the front desk she was saying we did not say we were going to call you by 4pm and I had to pay a $75 cancellation fee. I immediately said no you guys said you were going to call me and I was not going to pay the fee because I needed Child Care prior to the appointment and it was up in the air if it was even going to be done today. I started explaining to her that it was such a horrible experience and extremely unprofessional on how they were acting and she hung up on me. I tried to call back and no one was picking up the phone. I called my insurance to complain and file a second complaint as this is already an ongoing issue and when they called the office the office manager said that they were going to be removing me from their roster as if I was in the wrong. Funny part is I was already looking for a new office to be transferred to because of how bad their customer service was. No fault to the dentist there at he was completely amazing but the office staff acts as if they are in high school and have no professional courtesy or training correctly done. During a one year period and many cancellations even though temporary two temporary crowns fell out on the same day they were put in and having to redo crown because of many cancellation, my son finally got a crown and the crown which he paid for ($1200) fell out the same day they put it in. Drove almost two hours for the appointment and the receptionist said that there isn't a specialist that works at the office, even though I called beforehand to confirm that there was one there. It's very unprofessional that the receptionist doesn't know what type of dentist works in the office. Ended up canceling my appointment cause they don't offer the service that I needed. read more

Being pregnant at the time I didn't get X-rays done but had the best cleaning ever by Shabnam the dental hygienist. She was very efficient in doing my cleaning and I have been at many dental offices. BEYOND PISSED!!! I've never had a break in my 6 month cleanings until the staffing changes here. Not to mention I was already a new patient but to wait hours with my child in the waiting room, for a general cleaning during the break in Covid-19 was absolutely the worst! So they rescheduled me to come back and same thing, long wait. So I told them I would reschedule when I have time to sit and wait in their lobby with other people, less than 6 ft apart coughing and hacking around me. Months pass and I got a courtesy email saying I was overdue for my cleaning, I decided to call and give it another try after expressing my concerns, and frustration with the prior two visits. I was given a morning appointment to eliminate my wait time, since the afternoons were the busiest. Sadly, my appointment was over a month out but no big deal... WRONG! I received a call today that my dentist had some training and requesting that I come in at 2p? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! Like that's the entire reason why I was scheduled for mornings to avoid the wait in the afternoons. Like I truly understand things happen, but be accommodating. My son was a patient of the SmileCare ortho office for years, we always had a good experience with Dr. Bailey whom retired, his staff also knew us welk after so many years under his care, we always had a overall good experience. I was a little nervous about the new practice. My daughter had a consultation for new braces and the receptionist was kind and professional. We talked about insurance and payment options with Lily the Treatment Coordinator, she was personable, friendly and professional as well. We met with Dr. Kalika and he was nice, informative and answered my questions. They took my insurance and gave me a good discount for signing up the same day for my daughter's braces, I can say their price is very competitive and affordable. They also offered that at the end of her treatment we could sign up my daughter for retainers for life if she ever loses them! Everyone was very polite, welcoming and accommodating. So happy this new practice took over this office and my daughter is in good hands. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. Went in for a checkup and to get a crown replaced. This was on a dental HMO plan. First they upsale me on a "deep cleaning" which was a joke, as I've had better "regular" cleanings from a county dentist. Then, they say that the copay is $700 (on an HMO?), but I paid it. 3 months later, I get a bill for another $700. I contact my insurance carrier, who contacted them. My insurance rep stated they revised the bill to $382, which I still thought was too much, but agreed. I waited for the revised bill, and what do you know, it still says $700. I tried to call them to discuss, first 4 times, I sat on hold for over 10 minutes and hung up in frustration. The last time, I left a message on their voice mail to call me back to discuss, but never received a call back. Still getting billed for the $700. This time I'm taking it to the BBB. read more

I had scheduled an appointment for oral surgery to extract my wisdom teeth my appointment was at 9am I arrived 30 mins early to fill out paper work. At 9:45 I was concerned because a woman who had showed up after me with the same name went back 1st. I told the front desk and she assured me I would be next. Iam finally called back and they take me to a xray room and prepare me for a new patient teeth cleaning. I told them I was here for surgery and they called the Manger who then told me I was booked for the wrong appointment even though they charged me 250$ for nitrous for surgery the staff had no idea they had mixed me up with another patient until I told her my last name. Finally they get me into the right room and the surgeon tells me that iam serverly in packed and that I should have had this procedure at 16years old which now iam 34. He recommended I don't take them out because of how complicated the situation was. I agreed at this point I had to get out of this CHOP SHOP. I requested money back and ran out of this place.
