I do not recommend Harmony Dental to anyone- regardless of what insurance you have, DO NOT come here. My experience here was identical to the other 1 star reviews. The entire experience was poor, the office was very outdated and felt stale. I realized once I started my x-rays that the equipment they are using is outdated as well. The x-ray mouthpiece was unusually bulky and uncomfortable and the yellow and blue plastic pieces that you bite down on appeared dirty. They weren't completely covered with plastic when going in your mouth and you could see little dark grey spots and bite marks on them. I asked the x-ray tech if it was clean and she assured me that although it was a re-useable piece she herself sanitizes and brushes it after each use and it was clean. I believed her but still, not a good look. At other dentists the entire piece inserted in your mouth is completely covered with plastic. For the sake of time I'll spare you a few other details but what set me over the edge and led me to write this review was the cleaning. Never in my 35 years of life have I experienced this much pain at the dentist. I have very good teeth and my cleanings are always straightforward and simple. Usually the most uncomfortable part of a cleaning for me is that little metal pick they use to scrape the crevices. Whatever technique Dr. Noroozi is using needs to be THOROUGHLY evaluated and reconsidered. After using the little metal pick she began using a tiny drill to clean in between each tooth up near the gumline -from the outside and then from the inside. It fully felt like she was drilling ON my gums. I have no idea why I didn't leave at that point. Then, she proceeded to do the polishing which I figured would be painless but it's like the drill she was using to polish was way too high-powered because it felt like the polishing was also drilling into the surface of my tooth. At this point I was extremely uncomfortable and in pain and knew something was way off. She was working her way towards my front teeth and then going to do the other side. I couldn't do it. I took the mouthpiece out of my mouth, removed the bib, got up and said I was done. Dr. Noroozi seemed shocked and asked what was wrong and I said it was extremely painful and I was done and she said "yeah you're having a lot of bleeding your gums are very inflamed" I said " yeah I bet I am having a lot of bleeding this has been the most painful cleaning of my life. I never bleed a lot and I'm not sure if your equipment is dated or you have a heavy hand but something is wrong and I'm done." She asked if I was sure I didn't want to finish and tried to offer me fluoride and also tried to push their stupid electric toothbrush again and I declined all and walked out. When I got to my car I looked at my mouth and on the side she had "cleaned" my gumline was dark red and bleeding still. Compared to the other side she hadn't touched (shown in pics). It made me so sad and mad that this was my experience. I will be contacting the Dental Board of California and the ADA to file a complaint and I would advise other patients with this experience to do the same. I really hope that she does not see children at this office because if I had brought my son here I would be LIVID. In addition: my appointment was at 9:45 for a cleaning. The x-ray tech greeted me and handed me paperwork, the receptionist (who started work at 10am) came in and started verifying my insurance etc. They took me back at 10:25 for x-rays (the woman who took my x-rays was the only pleasant thing about this office) and did not start my cleaning until 11:15am when the dentist (who rolled into the office at 11am) was ready. Mind you, there was only one other patient in the office (an elderly woman who, from what I could hear was also experiencing extreme discomfort during her procedure). When I left it was 11:30 am. Almost 2 hours for an incomplete cleaning. Completely unacceptable and inconsiderate of patients' time all because Dr. Noroozi is trying to operate on a skeleton crew to save $ and waltzing into her office at 11am. Had I known this would have been my experience, I much rather would have paid $200+ out of pocket for a cleaning at another dentist than come here for a medi-cal covered cleaning.

Dr. Jain stands out for being both highly knowledgeable and genuinely thoughtful. I had a number of questions about more advanced dental procedures I was considering at the time, and she took the time to walk through my options in a way that felt thorough, honest, and never rushed. That level of attentiveness made it much easier to make informed decisions about my care. Michelle, the hygienist, was also excellent. She was consistently gentle, detail-oriented, and made cleanings feel comfortable rather than stressful. You can tell she really cares about both the quality of her work and the patient experience. What left the strongest impression overall was how patient-focused the entire practice felt. From clear communication to a supportive, welcoming environment, it never felt transactional- they genuinely care about doing what's best for you long-term. It's also clear they handle a wide range of care, from routine cleanings to more advanced procedures, which makes them a great option for individuals or families looking for continuity in one place. The only downside for me was the location- it's over an hour away now from where I live - but if I were closer, I would absolutely still be going there.

Dr. Cohen's whole team was so kind and patient. Very attentive to my needs and ensuring I was comfortable (even so much as to giving me a blanket to shield from the cold but more importantly to provide a sense of comfort) . From the front desk personnel, to the dental assistant, and the doctor himself, everything was thoroughly explained. They assured me that I would not feel the root canal and during the procedure, they worked with me until I could confirm that I was properly numb before proceeding. Dr. Cohen and his support team has great chemistry which cultivates seamless collaboration to complete the procedure professionally, timely, safely, and with ease. I am extremely grateful for the education, play-by-play explanation of service, their complete generosity, and extending their day to accommodate my needs and my nerves. After one session, my perspective of dentistry is shifting. Especially because that BIG scary root canal I had been cautioned about and denied access to by one of the greatest influences in my life, turned out to be immensely tolerable. So much so, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if it is needed. I walked in knowing I was going to lose my front tooth, and walked out from a care team that worked to ensure I kept it. A mere thank you is simply not enough. Therefore, anyone seeking an evaluation and/or a root canal, I give a 10/10 to A. Scott Cohen, DDS and the whole team.
