The two movers, Tim, the crew leader, and Sergei, were both very professional, courteous, and took great care with all of my possessions. I had a lot of furniture and 85 boxes and a long stairway for them to go down, and they were very careful with their hand trucks on each step. Nothing I own was damaged. Tim also disassembled and reassembled a large dining table I was concerned about. I left some items curbside for LA Sanitation "Bulky Item Pickup" (I had previously arranged the pickup) to pick up the next day (which they did), and both movers cooperated with me every step of the way. They were also careful moving items into the hardwood floors of my new apartment, reassembling the table, lamps etc. in my new place. I chose Trek because of their very favorable reviews on Yelp and Google, but what really sold me on them was the way their Customer Service people Arthur and Andrew handled my initial calls. I called several movers, but both Arthur and Andrew at Trek were outstanding communicators and from the first call made me feel confident and well informed regarding my move. They were very helpful throughout the 3 week time period from first contact to move completion. Trek's strong commitment to full disclosure and transparency was evident from the beginning. She made the company sound organized, reliable, and worth the price. Unfortunately, what followed did not reflect that impression. Although the company presents itself as a California-based operation with its own fleet, our belongings were transported more than 2,000 miles in what appeared to be a standard rental truck with a trailer attached. Our suitcases were placed loose in the open back of the truck exposed to dirt, weather, and potential theft. They were not transported in a secured moving vehicle, and by the time everything arrived in Florida, several items were dirty and damaged. The delivery process was especially frustrating. My husband was pressured into helping unload everything, yet they still expected a tip afterward, but he did most of the heavy lifting.We were also charged extra to have our items brought to our door, even though the truck could have parked directly in front of the building. The driver simply chose not to because it was inconvenient. We had missing and damaged items, including lamp parts, table legs, and a damaged KitchenAid due to careless handling. While the pickup crew in California was professional, the delivery team was disorganized and rushed. To make things worse, we were told at the last minute that our building supposedly didn't allow Saturday deliveries. The driver said our belongings could either be left on the side of the road or placed into storage at our expense...even though we paid for door to door delivery and were never informed of any restrictions and this is a very long move as is. This was not an inexpensive service, and the experience did not come close to matching the promises made during the sales process. When a company positions itself as premium, the gap between what is sold and what is delivered becomes impossible to ignore especially when they try to charge you extra for every step of the way. I wish my experience had been different, but unfortunately, it wasn't.

Ashley movers handled my move from start to finish with professionalism, and care. Something I learned from this cross country move process is that when you are dealing with the trucking industry, there are a lot of unknowns as far as dates and transit times. So many factors lead to that, and the process is confusing and frustrating- no matter who you go with... Ashley Movers is the only company I quoted with that actually tells you that! Brokers and big companies will say literally anything to book the deal and then leave you shocked at the wait times for your stuff to get there.... I wanna give some kudos to these guys who will be up front about what you can expect - even if it's not what you want to hear. They work with you, are communicative, and very calmly explain how they can help you - even if you aren't the most calm. I moved from SoCal to South Carolina and I would highly recommend Ashley Movers LA! Thanks for all the help guys!

The two movers didn't use dollies until the very end after speaking with the supervisor, took one box at a time and 15 minutes each trip to move one bedroom (just bed, dresser, art ikea shelf, and bins of clothes that were stacked together) that I had already boxed and moved together to save time and make it easier. They stretch the time out to five hours, after 2 friends of mine stopped by and said something about it did they start using their dollies and moved more than one box at a time. , the two locations are 15 mins, 4.2 miles, from each other. During this time one of the movers broke a vintage custom matted $300 framed picture , instead of coming to me about the damage he took it around the corner and spent 45 minutes trying to put the glass pieces back together that were shattered . I came downstairs to walk my dog and watch the other mover drop bins and spilled my items all over the concrete multiple times (one was all the silver wear on a side walk off Hollywood Blvd, put back in the box and said nothing:.. if I hadn't seen I wouldn't have known to rewash everything . Gross) At end of the move called his supervisor again about everything and they said all they would do is take 30 minutes off of the charge . Filed a complaint through the BBB and BCA ***also in response to Sam who responded... when the one star reviews are clearly all the same issue about the 'minimum amount' then obviously scamming more hours to make more money is really pathetic as a company. They don't send enough people for the work. Their people did not even have have to eat lunch. Even after I had to put the desk, dinning table, bed frame together, it has been taking them more then 10 hours to move one bedroom , 680 sf. and a small storage, and it is still going. When I called the company to give me my observation, their owner, Sam Samalian, told them to collect the money right now because he thinks I would not pay. What a jerk. As for their movers, there is no air conditioning in the truck. This is Southern California end of July!
