The two movers didn't use dollies until the very end after speaking with the supervisor, took one box at a time and 15 minutes each trip to move one bedroom (just bed, dresser, art ikea shelf, and bins of clothes that were stacked together) that I had already boxed and moved together to save time and make it easier. They stretch the time out to five hours, after 2 friends of mine stopped by and said something about it did they start using their dollies and moved more than one box at a time. , the two locations are 15 mins, 4.2 miles, from each other. During this time one of the movers broke a vintage custom matted $300 framed picture , instead of coming to me about the damage he took it around the corner and spent 45 minutes trying to put the glass pieces back together that were shattered . I came downstairs to walk my dog and watch the other mover drop bins and spilled my items all over the concrete multiple times (one was all the silver wear on a side walk off Hollywood Blvd, put back in the box and said nothing:.. if I hadn't seen I wouldn't have known to rewash everything . Gross) At end of the move called his supervisor again about everything and they said all they would do is take 30 minutes off of the charge . Filed a complaint through the BBB and BCA ***also in response to Sam who responded... when the one star reviews are clearly all the same issue about the 'minimum amount' then obviously scamming more hours to make more money is really pathetic as a company. Worst moving experience EVER. Stay far away from this moving company. It took them nearly FIFTEEN HOURS to move the contents from my one bedroom apartment only 35 minutes across town. NINE HOURS to load the truck with a small one bedroom's worth of stuff. They blamed it on the distance between the moving truck and my apartment, but it was a short walk from the moving truck to my apartment's elevator in both buildings, and then my apartment was right around the corner from the elevator. They had no stairs to navigate, no bad traffic to blame, and the problem seemed to be they were just REALLY REALLY SLOW. They took between 10-15 minutes to load a dolly with each load of 1-3 boxes or a piece of furniture. I've never seen movers move so slowly in my life. When I begged them to go faster, they yelled at me. The one kept ordering (NOT asking... not a single please or thank you) to fetch him water, even after I told him he could help himself to water. They took my front door off its hinges because they said the couch wouldn't fit otherwise, but I've had plenty of movers in the past fit that couch through doorways of the same size. They were rude through the whole experience, even snapping at me when they couldn't figure out how to navigate around furniture they'd moved inside and then blocked themselves in. Incompetent. And they bilked me out of over $1500 for a simple move of from one one-bedroom apartment to another. That should be the cost of a cross-country move from a 1 br apartment, not a local move! It was nearly THREE TIMES as much, and more than three times as long, as it took the last set of movers to move the same set of furniture, other than a new bed. I called management after my furniture still hadn't been delivered at almost the eight hour mark, and they knocked FIVE DOLLARS an hour off the price and refused to discount me beyond that. read more

The movers were nice enough, but they broke my bed frame in the process of disassembling it. I didn't realize how bad it was until I tried to put it back together and couldn't because of large cracks. They didn't even unscrew some of the hardware and just pulled the boards apart with the screws still in. I called the company to inquire about the insurance that they supposedly include, and Sam reported that "Ikea beds are made for one use" and there's nothing they can do about it in terms of reimbursement. Terrible response and terrible customer service. Anyway, I would not hire this company again. Replacing the bed frame doubles the $300 I spent on 'professionals'...obviously not worth it. read more

2 sides to my review: #1 quote and communication: I had multiple conversations and received emails garantteing the price with no last minute extras like "the other companies". Quote was supposed to be exact and I prepared the exact money I was told it would cost me, as it was "guaranteed". At the end, the plastic to wrap the furniture wasn't included even though the wrapping labor itself was included... Also the driving time was counted twice when they billed me because "that's the way they count it" but it wasn't clearly advertised at all and I ended up with 2 extras even though I did prepare everything in advance to make it easy and fast. I hate when people always find a way to charge you more telling you it's your fault when they use all different systems to trick you. It wasn't a big amount but I like when everything is 100% clear from the beginning. #2 the job itself: The 2 guys that showed up (late by more than 30min) were good workers and knew what they were doing. They were efficient and the whole job was done properly with no damages and no incident and we liked that. Overall it's been a decent experience, and we also enjoyed a Yelp coupon that lowered the bill a little bit. read more

This is a 2nd review. I used them again for another move. They took apart beds & all other furniture & moved stuff upstairs & packed up all of our clothes. Boxed up all of my hoarder items too. I don't know what I would've done today without these men. I paid for 3 guys but I got 4 to start w/ no extra charge. I wish I could find a hardworking man like these guys to marry. They moved me from Downey to Long Beach quickly and efficiently. None of my items were damaged and they took apart and reassembled my bedroom set once we arrived at the new place. This is my experience with LV moving on Mar/23/2018, I hired them to go to Santa Monica to pick up 150 boxes (random sizes, all 10 lbs or less), and deliver to city of industry (37 miles). Nobody ride with them on the truck, and here is what happened. It took them 3 hours on the road because they said it was lots of traffic and accident. They start the job on 2pm, leaving Santa Monica on 3pm, arrived on 6pm and finish unloading before 7pm. Here is the beauty--they said this job is over 4 hours minimum, therefore I have to pay the "double driving charge" which is an additional 3 hours. So my final bill is 8 hours (5 actual hours + 3 hours double driving charge) times $99/per hour, plus a $32 service charge. Normally it took me about 1.5 hours one way with traffic during weekday and business hour, and less than 40 mins at night time or weekend without traffic. It was suppose be a 4 hours job (or less), and total charge should be around $400, but because I have nobody ride with them and I got a $790 bill (they cut it down from $824 after I complained about it). Don't trust them and always give them no chance to screw you, they will do all they can to go over the minimum hour rate and hit you with the "double driving charge". I can't proof those movers used my time and went to take a long break at a burger store, but I knew they did it. Because after a long 3-hour driving they did even ask for a restroom. Worst moving company ever! Don't hire them. Don't get me wrong, the guys were nice and friendly so I almost feel bad writing this review, but it's nothing personal, it's strictly business. They were supposed to arrive at 1pm and showed up at 1:25pm. They were rushing, thus being careless with our items. They damaged my property and damaged my very expensive fridge. While trying to move the fridge down the stairs it fell and damaged our drywall. In addition the wood framing of our stairs was torn off! When I called to complain the owner tried to down play the situation and kept saying it's not a problem and that he'd fix it. He came down the same night to patch it up, but it doesn't look good! Out baby's crib was not assembled correctly and I found loose screws everywhere! Oh and the sensor for our ice on the refrigerator is no longer working. Horrible moving experience. After having a TERRIBLE experience with a moving company with 304 reviews and 5 stars... Don't want to name any names, but you can figure it out... these guys were able to swoop in and save our day. We had a large bed, huge dresser, and many other weird items left over from the first half of the move. They were polite, efficient, and above everything else FAST. This move was VERY last minute and the fact that they were able to accommodate us was amazing. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They were just fantastic. No issues. I would give this company ZERO reviews, if possible. Simply unprofessional. It was like watching to lazy children forced to move things, purposefully prolonging the process. First, I've moved my furniture and belongings multiple times during the past years. Never has it taken 4 hours to just move it out to a truck until last week. The total job was 10 hours! The other three times it only took 3 hours total! I had already packed and put every thing in boxes. The two guys who were actually moving my things out of my apartment were intentionally wasting so much time by carrying one pillow out at a time. Literally, these guys was carrying one item, such as bag and pillow out. Where most movers would consolidate boxes and then move them through the elevator, these guys literally took two boxes at a time on their hand carts. Finally, I had to ask them to put sofa pillows in a box or bag and stop wasting time. It fell upon deaf ears as the guys acted like they did not understand English. I finally complained to Sam, who refused to acknowledge that they were intentionally wasting time. At the end, after wasting my entire day, they refused to put my bed back together! I had to call Lydia to complain. (Sam did eventually assemble my bed.) When I asked that they also assemble my dinner table they left lying on the ground, Sam had the audacity to ask me for more money! They had represented that they could pick up my boyfriend's things from his apartment located a few blocks from the new apartment. I even asked that they unload my things first before going to his place, but they refused to do that. Finally, because they did such a poor job of placing furniture and boxes in the truck, they didn't have room for 2 tables. Lydia refused to have her workers come back and move them. She informed me I would have to pay the 3 hour minimum if LV Movers were to finish the job. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Moving is stressful enough, hiring a incompetent company should not add to the process. read more

We were quoted one price over the phone, then were told a different price once the movers showed up. The owner did try and remedy the situation by giving us the cash price for credit card. The movers did an okay job and one of the guys was very nice. They ended up chipping two of our dining room chairs, which we didn't notice until after they'd left. If this hadn't happened, I'd give them another star. If you can afford an extra $10-$30/hr, then I say absolutely go with someone else with more experience treating furniture well. read more

This company goes by LV Moving, LV Moving Inc. and Los Angeles Company. Use caution using them. Seems that they have a lot of different versions of their company on Yelp. Perhaps this is to help them avoid all the negative PR. They boast about not charging hidden fees when this is what they are all about. I contacted them to move my son from UCI Campus to Pasadena. He only had a full size mattress with a wire frame, two small bookshelves, small student desk and TV stand. That was it. We were only asking them to move one room worth of stuff. When the quote came, it seemed very reasonable. I called them back to confirm. I spoke to Anthony. His first response out of the gate..."Oh...UCI? I thought you meant USC". Really? That mistake surely is convenient. Guess what? More charges. They doubled the fuel charge. I bought that line and had my son call back to arrange a move time. My son stated that because he was on the 4th floor that the person he spoke to said they would have to send out 3 men at $79 per hour instead of the 2. On their add they specifically state" No charge for stairs" . Having an additional worker assigned to the move surely sounds like they are trying to charge for the stairs. I called them back, before the move, emphasizing how little there was to move and that we would probably go with someone else. They then conceded they could reduce it back to 2 men. Then he wound up charging a 4 hour minimum because of "state law" when their add shows 3.5 for Orange County (Irvine, CA) and 3 hours Los Angeles (Pasadena). Where did they get the 4? Oh...then they get you with a $45 charge to shrink wrap the mattress as opposed to a mattress bag valued at $3. Plus, they charged $10 per more extra because my son paid with his credit card. The original $270 quote turned into a $360 + move. I would like to add that my son is a student who paid for this on his own...shame on them for ripping off a student. In all fairness, the people that they sent out to physically do the move were on time, acted professionally and were very accommodating. The problem isn't with the employees but with management. They seem to almost be using an approach often used by used car salesman...the old "bait and switch". Be careful. I am seriously pondering reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more
