Casey is a fantastic hair stylist and consultant! She's also friendly and a great communicator. I'm so glad I found her because she is definitely an extension expert. I'm extremely happy with my new Dream Catcher hair extensions and love how the colors blend. Her move up and install prices are also very reasonable and the process for booking and paying is always so seamless. Golden Touch Salon is easy to get to, has cute decor, is clean and everyone I've encountered so far is friendly and helpful. My first experience getting the Dream Catcher extensions at another salon was horrendous. Even though the stylist was nice, the consultation was rushed and some of the hair turned a copper color which did not blend at all (it's debatable if it was even true Dream Catcher hair to begin with because I couldn't find a match on the swatches). Unfortunately, I missed the warranty timeframe and the salon was not helpful at all. Needless to say, I was hesitant to make the leap again to get them fixed since they are an investment (ladies you know what I'm talking about). Then I found Casey to do my move ups and she was so patient with me through multiple consultations as I debated which colors to go with the second time around. Casey is truly a professional and your hair is in good hands with her. She answered all of my questions (probably the same ones over and over haha...what can I say? I was nervous) and we came up with a game plan. I never felt pressured or rushed and ultimately went with her suggestions based on the look I was going for and it turned out beautifully. Toni Kathrynn is the best! For years after getting my hair colored and styled I would always go back to putting it back in a pony tail. But not this time! It is the perfect length (shorter then I thought I would ever like), and I LOVE the high and low lights! She also took the time to show me how to curl it correctly. He had heard about my nightmare experience that Evelyn ruined my hair, made a consultation appointment with him so that he can assess the damage and to get the hair back on fleek mode. The consultation appointment was pretty neat, he assessed my hair, asked what products I normally use on my hair, how I want my hair to be done, etc. I now know that some of the products I've been purchasing over the years (example: Herbal Essence, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, etc..) aren't the greatest for my hair - they're actually not good at all. EEK! I am soooooo glad he informed me of this. So after the consultation we set up the appointment for him to work his magic on my unicorn mane. Patrick went above and beyond to get the Red and Purple ombre colors I wanted done to my hair and even trimmed my hair to perfection. He didn't do a rush job, you can totally tell he is a great artist at what he does and truly cares that his clients are happy before walking out the door. He also ordered products that will work better on my hair AND is having them shipped to me so that I don't have to drive all the way back to pick it up. I am now happy to say that I think I have found my new go-to stylist and my hair now gets COMPLIMENTS and not COMMENTS (huge difference). Trust me...when Evelyn ruined my hair...i had a fair share of comments on my hair (i.e. did you do that yourself? what color is that supposed to be? what happened? etc....) My first time here, the end result was very nice CUT but Courtney has a very heavy hard hand when it comes to washing the hair, her tecqhnique was harsh she moved my head around fast and dug so abruptly into the scalp. It was almost as if my head was a basketball, I felt dizzy when I stood up. I'm use to a relaxing calming scallp massage - she needs to tone it wayyyyy down. So t be fair, I would give 5 stars on the cut, 1 for highlights and -0 on the washing. I have had many highlights throughout the years loved them, these you barely can see when she was done she said she knows I can hardly see them but after many washes it will fade I will notice them since it's "just toner" ? Looks like Scott has many good reviews so I would get back but perhaps I would try him. I've washed my hair 4 times I still can't see the highlights as I was assured I would after a few washings, I guess she never used a color just a toner- now I feel I wish I didnt give her such a generous tip and should have gone elsewhere. read more

I feel like she never even went to school that she was guessing at what she was doing. This review is for a gel manicure/pedicure that I got from Bonnie (who also goes by Impeccable 10 Nails). I found her and this salon via a Groupon (although I believe that the Groupon said that she was still working at Tru Salon). I had gotten my mani/pedi done to go to a wedding out of state. My gel nails (which should last at least 2 weeks although my previous ones have lasted about 3 weeks) did not even last 1 week before the gel polish was chipping, nail polish coming off of the majority of the top of the nail, and the color was different on the same nail. When I came back in town, I texted Bonnie to let her know what happened with my nails and to see if she could do my nails again to fix the ones that were ruined. Essentially, she stated that my mani definitely should not have been the way that it was when I texted her pictures of a few of my nails on 1 hand. Thereafter, she said that she would fix them for me (which I appreciated). However, the soonest she had available was about 1 week out from the date that I texted her (after I believe I had to follow-up with her). So, I booked that appointment and let her know that my nails were looking bad. I show up on the day of my appointment that we scheduled. As it turns out, Bonnie was not there. They informed me that she left for the day and told them she did not have any more appointments. I told them that I booked the appointment 1 week ago. They tried calling her. I sat there for about 20-30 minutes waiting to see if they would hear back from her. But, they were not successful. Thus, I decided to text her to let her know that I was at the salon. Her response to me was something like "oh, I thought I talked to you already". I informed her that we had not spoken since I made the appointment. She did not even apologize for forgetting my appointment (which I thought was rude and unprofessional). I asked her about rescheduling and if she could give me another date for the appointment. She said she would text me back later because she was busy. I followed up with her about 2 days later since I did not hear back from her. I saw that she read my text. But, she never responded back to me; and, definitely did not contact me again to reschedule the appointment - that was about 1 month ago and I still have not heard back from her (which I also thought was rude and unprofessional). Bonnie is nice. However, I will not be going back to her given the above issues (as well as the fact that the lady that was helping me at the salon when we were waiting to hear back from Bonnie told me that she had the similar issues that I had with my nails). Me spending the extra money to get a gel mani was useless and a waste of money. The time that I had to spend there for my 2nd appointment was obviously also a waste of my time. read more

I've been going to Golden Touch for a few about a year now and really love it. The salon is super clean and cute. The stylists have their own rooms, but share common areas and sinks. Everyone I have met is super friendly. I specifically see Casey Pfau (Hair by Casey Pfau), and she is AMAZING. Casey does my cuts, colors and Brazilian Blowouts. I am SUPER particular about my hair. I have actually never been to a stylist twice or found a stylist I felt truly understand what I wanted, but could apply her own knowledge and experience to that to create amazing hair, but Casey really gets it. She's extremely skilled and knowledgeable! I've been super happy with all of her services, plus she's also friendly and great to be around. First of all, I was born a very dark brunette and after searching all over San Diego (and several bad hair days)I found Ashley and she has made me the glowing blonde I've always wanted to be!! She is fantastic at what she does and makes me feel amazing every time. I have been going to her for over 4 years now and she will also be doing my hair for my wedding this summer- I can't wait!! She is such a doll and really listens to whatever you want. I kept wanting to go lighter and lighter and she would always do exactly what I wanted! Not to mention she does "baby trims" for me when I don't want a full hair cut because I want to keep growing out my hair...this has actually helped it grow tremendously! This review is for Scott Springstead. I met Scott through a mutual friend for whom he regularly does haircuts. I had specific ideas in mind for my two hairstyles for my wedding day, and from the moment we got in touch Scott was amazing. We did a trial about one month before the big day, and he was generous in the amount of time we spent, and was open and flexible to all of my concerns and wishes. I had a more traditional conservative updo for the ceremony (we had an indian wedding and I wore a sari), and then a looser more relaxed hairstyle for the reception. He was always on time, with all of his gear, and went above and beyond, staying for a bit to make sure that my hair did okay in the wind before our first look. Tisso is the best stylist in San Diego!! He's a celebrity stylist who could charge way more for his work but his pricing is SO reasonable! He is an absolute MASTER at color (can literally go from black hair to blonde in one day and your hair will be feeling healthier than when you went in). I've been to so many salons in San Diego, and none are as good as Tisso. I've paid an arm and a leg at salons like Hyde Edward's, and was very disappointed. I went to this salon today and saw Courtney V. First of all, the area is a bit random and you never know what a place will look like until you go inside. This is one of the cutest salons I have ever been to. They have a mini espresso/ coffee/ tea station and each hair stylist has their own room, so clients can be as loud as they want. I have been getting balayage done for the past two years.... I love my hair girl, but I thought I would try someone new. Courtney seemed very educated when it comes to hair. She answered all of my questions and was very thorough. As for the above comment, for washing, she was not crazy aggressive by any means, she just made sure your hair was clean. If people do not like the pressure, they should speak up. The end result was great. I had a highlights with lightener, a mini cut, and two cute French braids. We spoke the entire time, which isn't always easy to do the first time people meet. She is great! read more

Not thrilled. Made an appt with Diane. The wash was good, love Kenra products. The cut was quick. Not that that's bad. The blow dry was where it started to get bad. She blew AGAINST the cuticle, creating frizz. The round brush she used kept snagging and pulling out my hair. But fine, whatever, fix it in post processing. ZERO product, more awful snaggy brush, more blow drying against the cuticle, more frizz. Then she asks if I want it left as is or curled. I opted for curls. Bad bad bad... She uses a curling brush. Fine, the problem? IT GOT TANGLED TO SHIT in my hair. I thought she was going to have to CUT it out. Nope, just kept yanking, tugging, pulling, out of my HEAD, not the brush. Luckily she unplugged it so it didn't BURN my hair off, but she pulled enough to make up for it. I seriously feared I'd have a fucking BALD spot. I was pissed. No, Diane, no more curling brush. I stood up to pay and pulled out my card to which she replied, I only take cash. WTF?! Don't you think you should MENTION THAT?!? Her co-worker had the square thing and I asked, ok how much. She said $50 Fifty? Seriously?!? With that?! No, she went down to $30. Still a rip off. My now frizzy hair and I are going ELSEWHERE next time. read more

She definitely knows style and color, listens to what you want, and follows through with great results! She was fast, too, which is a plus, I don't like spending a long time at a beauty salon. Just got my hair highlighted & chopped by Courtney and I absolutely love the result! I hadn't cut or colored my hair in about two years, and a lot of my length was majorly dead and fried. I was on vacation in San Diego and yelped this salon and decided to try it out. Jesus (Jessie) took excellent care of me. He used amazing hair products and washed my hair thoroughly while getting a massage at the same time! The chair was even a massage chair and massaged my back while Jessie was washing my hair. It felt heavenly! Considering the amount of hair I have and how long and thick it is...Jessie blow dried my hair so effortlessly and it looked so beautiful!!!! He was very efficient as well.
