The Paradise Point grounds are very pretty - tropical with lush greenery. It is nice that there is free public parking right in front of the spa. My first impressions of the spa were that it was a bit outdated and could use some renovations and modernization. The check-in / waiting areas included a random chair for hair service and a small area for pedicures. The lady at the desk was friendly and showed me to the locker room. The locker room was small, but had sauna, showers, and some toiletry type items that you would expect in a spa. I was provided a robe and while it was clean, I instantly thought this looks super old and well used. I sat in the relaxation room, that more felt like a Dr waiting room other than the relaxing music and fresh fruit available. My massage therapist was very friendly and asked me questions regarding injuries, allergies, focus areas, and pressure prior to starting. I had the 50 min drift full body massage and I felt it was just ok. I've tried out quite a few spas in the area and I've had better experiences elsewhere. I also thought it was very pricey for a 50 min massage ($204 with gratuity already included) when I've had better massages in the area at the normal 60 min time for less money. I did enjoy the small jacuzzi after my massage and I was lucky enough that I was the only one there because the area is quite small. The grounds are very pretty, but overall there are other resort spas I would recommend instead. read more

Feeling so relaxed after the body scrub and massage at Paradise Point Resort Spa. Upon checking in, the sweetest staff walked me into their Paradise and a soon as you enter the gates you feel as if you were in a tropical paradise with lush trees and landscape. There is a private jacuzzi area for the spa guests and was set nicely with lounge chairs and fresh towels. The spa facilities include showers, vanity area to get ready in and both a wet and dry sauna. The body scrub was so relaxing as the spa attendant was detailed in paying attention to detail in making me comfortable and relaxed. Inside the treatment room was a beautiful nature wooden shower for after your scrub treatment. The relaxation room had very light refreshments of tea and some fruit. Ive gotten massages frequently through my life and Corey was 100% the best massage I've ever received. Absolute perfect pressure and technique. Afterwards I asked how long she's been a massage therapist, she said 20 years and it shows in her work. Highly recommended her. I would come back monthly just to see her but I was only in the area for a vacation. The spa prices are typical for a resort spa. I booked an exfoliation that featured a full body scrub using coffee followed by a shower and then a full body massage using CBD lotion. The juxtaposition between the roughness of the scrub followed by the relaxing massage was amazing. I am in awe of Corey's skills. Highly recommend requesting her. Also, the face massage was an add on, it should be applied after our 50 min massage, not during it coz it cuts down the time for the massage. My masseuse asked in the beginning how I wanted the pressure and def did not get what I asked for. And at one point, she prob thought I was sleeping and she stopped massaging me. Def did not feel like a massage, just someone rubbing oil/lotion on. What horrible service. Felt like we were ripped off. For that price, we should have received better service than that. This spa is run down and shabby and the customer service is nowhere near resort spa level. My robe was too small, tatty, and faded to a sad grey color. The waiting room had uncomfortable, torn seating and depressing yellow walls and half-eaten fruit sitting out. My massage therapist spent very little time on the areas I asked her to focus on and I walked out feeling worse than when I walked in. She didn't come back to offer me water or escort me to the changing room--I was just abandoned. The front desk person didn't ask me anything about my experience and then had the gall to tell me that it's an automatic 20% "gratuity" on all services. That's not a tip, it's a fee. Staying at this Resort or just in the area and looking for an amazing massage. Look no further! We went in to see what they have to offer, both my husband and I. They do have your regular Swedish and Deep tissue which sometimes I think those are boring or just the same. The front receptionist mentioned the Balinese Massage which is a mixture of Eastern/Western modalities and it caught my interest and If your gonna get a massage, you need to get the 80 minutes so you gett the whole effect of the massage. We booked our massage. Upon being taken into the spa area, they showed us where the jacuzzi was for after, then the relax room where we will be waiting and then off to the womens area. Nice and Clean, locked with your personal code, a steam room, sauna and all of your feminine hygenies you could ask for... Relaxing room had variety of hot tea, Yummy kombacha, ice water with crystals, and relaxing seatings to relax. Katie and the other license massage therapist greeted both my husband and I. I was with Katie, she was very nice, warm hearted, and such a sweet person. Asked me a few questions and got me situated. Katies massage was immpecabale. It was really a mixture of lot of different modalities which I found fasnicating. Her pressure was on point, no too hard, not too light, but just right! It was in no way invasive, especially when she was in some of the areas where it was really tender. She did it where it was hurting but, a good hurt that needed to be worked out! Some of the stretching and dry rolling she was doing was just "WOW" and many more different varities she mixed it with. I slept like 6 times catching myself snoring...Hahaha! But, when it was all done. You know when you had a amazing bodywork when your having a hard time grasping and just really relaxed! Great spring time deal for during the week service. Facial with Melody was great! The grounds were overall clean. I went March 19. The spa's jacuzzi was closed for repair and the steam room wasn't working for most of the day. It was finally working in the afternoon. So for most of the day, the sauna was the only functioning spa feature. Went to use the resort's adult pool/jacuzzi however it was also closed for repairs. I utilized a couple other pools on the property. It wasn't quite the kid-free day I had planned, but still had a nice time. Online it said the spa was open until 7, subject to change. I asked in person and was told they're open only until 5. Lockers kept malfunctioning, it happens. However to get it unlocked, you have to ask the attendant (which is accessed beyond the spa's gate) So you get locked out of your locker, maybe you have your robe, then you walk out of the locker room area, out the door, through the outdoor pathway, past the locked spa gate, into reception to ask the attendant to let you back into your locker. Then you travel back the same route with the attendant to be let back into your locker. This happened to several of us throughout the day. Wasn't quite the relaxing, care free day I had planned. If things are up and running smoothly, then I think this could have been a 5 star place. If I were to go back again, I would definitely get another facial with Melody, however I would call ahead of time to ensure the sauna, steam room, and spa's jacuzzi are open. read more

Since this is my first professional massage, I was a little ball of anxiety when I showed up. But the staff was great at understanding and explaining everything to me. Before I booked the service, I got on Yelp to see who was the most talked about and it was Eric. I was a little hesitant because he's a guy, and I was afraid I wouldn't be as comfortable as I would a woman. But I'm glad I trusted my gut and went with Eric. The staff even said he was a top requested masseuse. He's personable, funny and gave me some things to think about when I go home (like seeing a chiropractor because my hips are out of alignment.) And when I was done, he got me water, suggested I stick with water for the next hour and a half and walked me outside. Seriously classy gentleman! I was treated to a Mainland massage here by my awesome brother and sister in law for my birthday and can absolutely recommend the spa services! Even in the midst of summer, the spa wasn't overcrowded, though the actual resort is super slammed with happy vacationers. TIP: Pack your patience to find parking. There are two parking lots on the left side, and parking along the street, but do not pass up any available curb parking. I had to park shark and still didn't find anything close. However, it ended up a happy situation: I parked at the tennis court and had to hoof it to the spa, but I spied some absolutely GORGEOUS views along my walk. I didn't mind as I had arrived early to take advantage of the spa amenities. The Spa is located to the left of the Market - literally on it's corner. Enter into the little spa lobby to check in. Lovely receptionist set the whole relaxed mood and also explained that they include a 20% gratuity into the bill for convenience. When you walk into the services area, there are a couple of bungalows for services - making me feel like I was on Fantasy Island. The spa had just a few clients, so I literally had the luxurious changing room, showers (one was huge and could accommodate a wheelchair) and sauna TO MYSELF! Talk about private. I was even alone in the the relaxation room for awhile. The hot vanilla extract tea was delightful. My actual massage was perfect as well. I was in the couple's room which was gorgeously decorated. The massage table had some beautiful silk covers and I loved that the massage table was heated. David offered me the lemongrass scented massage oil - light and not overpowering - and expertly massaged my trouble areas. I was in heaven. And while he was friendly, i appreciated that he didn't overly-chat as I was in island mode. Post treatment, David greeted me with a bottled water and even had some professional tips for me for my next massage. Needless to say, I took my time departing... One size fits all robes and slippers instead of asking you your sizes. Staff wasn't that attentive to quiet/tranquility in common areas. One of my favorites and it's so close from my apartment! I love love coming here every summer with my baby! It's one of our to go places on every summer! Even on winter, this is a very nice place to visit as well. Love their lights on the trees that welcomed you as you drive coming in. It's beautiful, clean, pretty, lots of areas to walk around and see. Inside the resort has few restaurants you can go check and dine in. They offer live band every Sunday. My favorite part is their pool area, it's huge, pretty, clean, and very relaxing. The spa is very nice as well, they only charge $139-$160 plus 20% gratituty per hour and if you are not staying at the hotel, and just wanted to use the pool. It covers the pool fee which's is $25 if you are getting a one hour full body massgae. The gift shop is pretty neat as well, lots of stuff to shop around. The resort also had bicycles/tricycles to rent and just drive around the whole resort, it's really fun! Plus it's right next to the water. Definitely checked out barefoot bar and grill/tidal to see amazing view of the water. It's just lovely, especially on the sunset! I am not sure what the negative review below is about with respect to Carrie. My husband, son, and I just visited on Tuesday for their $99 massage "Lucky You" special. This was my first visit to this spa so I was not expecting much for the $99. I admit Carrie can be impersonal at first greeting, but SHE GIVES THE BEST MASSAGES. I walked in with a sprained knee and questionable IT Band injury. 50 minutes later, I walked out with a completely relaxed body and more education than my UCLA trained orthopedic surgeon has given me. She talked to me about how to improve upon my current approach to alleviating my sore muscles and at the end gave me a hug! I will be back when in the area for sure! read more

I was just there this past weekend. My wife and i both had 50 minute massages and 30 minute reflexology combined and it was a wonderful service. This is not a large typical spa. You check in a small area with zero seating. They walk you outside and back into another building where your lockers are (no attendants) Same size one size all robe and no spa shoes in your locker. There is a steam room only. No hot tub, no pool, no jacuzzi, no bathing or shower service (they did have shower stalls in locker rooms Again, services were great. Then we had arrangements for a stone manicure and stone pedicure (I thought it was $95 for both and it was for each) They build in a 20% tip on ALL services so the mani-pedi were over $200 per person..................NOT AT ALL WORTH THE PRICE! The nail technicians were very nice ladies, great conversations.........but certainly not worth $200 per person for a mani-pedi. We will likely return for the massage services some day read more

We had a great time at The Spa! From our massage services to the steam room and sauna, the entire spa was clean and well managed. They provide you with sandals and them most comfortable robes I've tried on in a long time! There are lockers for your belongings that can be locked with a personal number combination. The spa shower gels and shampoo are great and I want to buy their lotion in bulk now! I seriously need a bottle for home and work now! Our massage therapists were great. Kaylee and Eric were very attentive and gave our groups wonderful massages. Eric even connected gave us suggestions for places for our group to visit and connected us with a limo driver for a wine tour that we were organizing! I am disappointed. I've come to this spa many times but this time was not a great experience. The best part was that I was able to get a last minute appointment (the day before) and the front desk staff were helpful. I attempted to enjoy the hot tub prior to my treatment but not only was it dirty but the jets were broken. I normally wouldn't think twice about that but paying a spa premium for a lackluster treatment is frustrating. I upgraded to the deep tissue massage because I prefer a more therapeutic feel but what I got was a sloppy oil rub down. Spa day with my wife. From booking, to arrival, to treatments, it was a very good experience. I called to make arrangements and Edgar was very helpful. It took a bit of time to book both of us along with some customizations to the packages. He was patient, professional, and as I was to find out, spot on with his recommendations. On arrival, we were greeted and ushered into the spa area. On Edgar's suggestion, we chose to begin with a hot stone massage. I was a bit uncertain as I've had bad hot stone massages, but he convinced me. Tracy, my massage therapist, explained their process and I immediately relaxed...she knew her stuff. Once Tracy began, I quickly melted under the heat and pressure. One of the best massages I've had in 30 years. My wife went on to other treatments while I relaxed in the steam room. The spa environment is quiet and calming, located amongst mature tropical plants that transport you to an island paradise if only for a short time. Come for the spa but skip the rest of the "resort". We spent the night in one of their bayside suites. Beautiful view, but turn around and everything about the room was a disappointment. Subject for a different review. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary. I had purchased the couple's massage and it was AMAZING considering it was my first time ever getting one. The staff really makes you feel comfortable, relaxed and special! I had the hot stone massage and the husband got the deep tissue. To make the experience super romantic and special, we even rented out the private courtyard for a couple of hours. Strawberries and champagne were waiting for us and the jacuzzi was surrounded with rose pedals. My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary for a one night away from home and a spa treatment. The horror started with a security guard (Douglas) walking in on my naked wife and I in a private retreat section of the spa. He unapologetically stood there staring at my naked wife, with his sidekick stooge (Carlo) pushing the door aside to get a better look, until I yelled at them to "get the F out". Afterwards instead of being apologetic about his misjudgment and shameful act, he stood his ground as just doing his job...what an a***ole. Then, to top it off, this morning at 6:11 am the alarm clock went off, likely set by a previous guest. Why housekeeping doesn't check these between guests is beyond me. And of course, after being up at 6 am who can sleep when the blackout shades don't cover the arch windows at the top. That was a serious misjudgment in design (see pic I posted). Finally, this place is near to the airport so you can listen to every plane fly in and out of SAN because the windows are very thin. I wish there was something they could do to undo the damage but unfortunately the only real restitution that we would accept is time travel to go back 24 hours and choose to go elsewhere. No amount of refunds or future credits would ever make us come back here for any reasons, including giving away free nights to others. Don't walk, run away from this place if you're even considering SD for a relaxing trip. read more

I went there after a particularly grueling semester in grad school topped off with a big work event that I was responsible for planning, so I wanted to find a good place to pamper myself for the day. Out of all of the spas in the area, this seemed like the nicest one for the money. I had the Island Bliss Ritual which consisted of a 50 minute massage, sugar scrub, and then a relaxing coconut milk bath in a wooden tub. The massage wasn't the best that I've ever had and it was somewhat disapointing since I paid so much money to have this special experience, (a few hundred dollars plus gratuity) but overall I enjoyed it. I also loved the ambiance and functionality of every part of the spa- their locker room was updated and nice looking, they had a great eucalyptus sauna, their waiting room was tranquil and relaxing, and the treatment room was gorgeous with bamboo decor and a tropical island feel. The massage wasn't up to the caliber that I was hoping for, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars, but every other aspect of this spa was great! read more

I payed $175 per person for two tropical 50 min deep tissue massages for me and my husband's 20th year wedding anniversary. The place was quaint except for my terrible experience with my masseuse, Carrie. Carrie was so unprofessional and unpleasant upon greeting me in the spa jacuzzi as I had arrived 20 min early to relax and enjoy the amenities there. Carrie was unprofessional in every manner from the massage she rendered as she gave me few sharp elbows to my thigh's and buttocks that made me yell in pain and I almost fell off the table by flinching away from her to her not using oil to massage me as she forcefully pulled down on my facial skin and décolletage with no oil!!! It felt like a skin burn after! I had to ask her several times throughout the massage to stop using so much pressure and please use oil. It was such a terrible experience I was in the twilight zone!! Then Carrie jumped on my back!!! Yes with her knees ending the massage and I took a knee to my kidneys!!!! I was so startled and upset but couldn't even breath as it took my breath away with all her weight on top of me!!! When she got off I demanded that she stop!!! Carrie responded rudely and stated that "Maybe next time I would be better at receiving!" Whatever the H*** that meant! I should've ran out of there the moment I saw that she didn't properly lay down any clean towels on the bed for my face when told me to lie down. Looking back in hindsight, I wonder if she even changed the linen from her previous client before I lied down on her table because there was saliva , Yes spit on the floor that I only noticed when she tripped over a stool that she kicked away that she had placed beneath my head rest before I lied down. Carrie didn't clean it up instead she just threw a towel over it as if to hide it from my sight! It was not my Saliva!! I was so unhappy with the whole experience and felt worse after her massage than before I entered her massage room. It was my 20th wedding anniversary and didn't want to flipp out and ruin my husband's experience as his was amazing compared to mine, but he had a different masseuse. Marla was my aesthetician. She was stand-offish but I'm going to let that slide. I'm not hiring her for her personality. I warned her that I had a nose ring and even asked her if she wanted me to take it out before my facial. She said that I could leave it in. She proceeded with the facial and twice, she almost ripped it out when cleaning my face with a towel. It hurt like heck! How could she not be extra careful?? I gave her fair warning! Not that Marla has any control over this, but the towels here for your face are so rough. She is not gentle so it made the roughness even worse. The waiting room is supposed to be quiet and relaxing. There's tea and candles and soothing spa music. Then you realize how dumb the design of this place is. It's right next to their gym so you can hear the instructor jazzing it up with loud music next door. It was so pretty driving in, and had a nice website, it was a get away for my husbands birthday- (this was back in mid June/2018 ) Room check-in took forever, but Sam was so nice and friendly, he helped take the irritation out of standing in line for 20 minutes and arranged for the Bell Captain to escort us to our room, we ended up getting a very nice tour of the propety with the Bell Capitan, Mark. Our "newly remodeled room" was nice in appearance, but cheaply made. I killed 3 spiders IN THE CURTAINS, AND A COCKROACH IN THE SHOWER. This was our first impression of the room. The housekeeping is atrocious. Toenail clippings on the bathroom floor, light bulbs burned out, previous guests moldy food in our fridge and the floors are FILTHY. The soles of my feet were BLACK from being barefoot in my own room. We went to enjoy the pool, and found the towels are worn very thin and frayed. At this point, I'm embarrassed for this hotel, and ashamed of myself for ever choosing it! We went to the spa for his and hers massages. I cannot emphasize how much I loved my massage with Desiree, there are not enough words to describe her magical touch! My husband had Kate, and was less than satisfied with her subpar skillset. She was pleasant enough, but didn't seem very experienced, so that was a bummer, as this was our most anticipated part of the trip. The locker rooms were a mess, and my locker wouldn't unlock. I had to go up front, in my robe, and ask for assistance to get back in. The girl at the front desk of the spa was a scatter brain, (Vanessa) and all bad attitude, she made me feel like I inconveniced her when I asked for help. Why is there no house phone in the locker room? Barefoot Grill was a not so great experience. Zac, ( I think that was his name) went out of his way to make things right when my order came out incorrectly, and apologized profusely for the mix up. We did enjoy our last night on The Island, we had dinner at Tidal. Amazing food. Forgot our servers name, but he was fantastic, and was also our bartender!!!!!! Also the parking and resort fees are ridiculous. Plan on adding about $100 more per night because of the fees. This review is very tardy but we had such a good time, I wanted to make sure we gave them their 5 stars!!!! We had a group of 7 ladies at the spa celebrating a 30th birthday in October of last year. Yesenia was a fabulous contact and was able to accommodate our entire group with the services and times we requested. We were given free time in the private hot tub cabana area with a bottle of champagne and it was very fun. Everyone loved their services and the front desk girls were very kind, thoughtful and professional. The birthday girl enjoyed it so much that she booked another birthday celebration there the following week! I was together with these same girls last weekend and we were talking again about what a great time we had - the treatments and the service were A PLUS. Thank you!! read more

Full spa!!! Just want to let all my budgeters know they take a 20% gratuity for all services (THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOU CLICK THAT "USEFUL" COMMENT ON THE BOTTOM TO LET ME KNOW I'M DOING A GOOD JOB AND THIS ISN'T IN VAIN.............. IT'S COOL I'LL WAIT............) Couples massage room was very exotic. Nice size gym, , and steam room. Ask them about they're full list of massages. I love the hot stones, you kinda feel like the pharaohs of old getting a rub down. :-) n e who. They give you your own locker with a key to lock it, and inside the locker are slippers and (warm good quality) robe. The only thing I wish they would do: SURROUND SOUND SPEAKERS IN THE MASSAGE ROOM. With my eyes covered hearing plays a big part in surroundings and I wish they has a better system then a small Bose, Boston acoustic, or whatever clock radio type of set up. Something like a theater, with a 5.1 (that's 5 speaker and 1 subwoofer). But that's not enough for me to take off a star. I had a blast HOT STONE MASSAGES FOR ALLLL LOL!!!! read more

I got THE BEST facial here!!! My face has never felt cleaner or better than it did after this facial. I even fell asleep in the middle of it, it was so relaxing!! Who falls asleep during a facial?? I'm a very light sleeper, too, so I'm still not sure how this happened. Yes, it was very pricey, but definitely worth it. I've also gotten a Swedish massage here as well as a Balinese massage coupled with a mud mask. Heavenly. I'm not sure if she still works there but both times I had Heidi as my masseuse. Skip the $65 pedicure, though, this wasn't worth it. They also offer a 10% discount for San Diego residents, just ask when you make your appointment. I seem to remember them automatically adding 20% gratuity to your tab, though, just a heads up. I still dream about that wonderful facial. Sigh... read more

Spa Terre is FABULOUS!! My company kindly treated a few of us over worked, over stressed employees to two treatments of our choice at Spa Terre this past weekend. I had a 50 minute Swedish Massage and a 50 Minute Milk and Honey Body Wrap. My massage was with Annette. She is a miracle worker!! It's hard to get me to relax, but for 50 straight minutes, I was a total noodle. Per my request, she adjusted the pressure on different areas of my body perfectly. She was able to focus in on my neck and shoulders where she could tell I was carrying most of my stress. She has the hands of an angel and I would definitely go back to her to unwind! My Body wrap was with Lea. Lea was also wonderful! She started with a sugar scrub exfoliation and then massaged warm honey onto my body (which is oddly not as sticky as one would think). She then poured warm milk all over me and then wrapped me up. While I was wrapped like a banana, I enjoyed a scalp and foot massage. When she was done, she rinsed me down and sent me on my way. My skin is so soft that I won't need to apply any lotion for a few days! The Spa is beautiful and very clean. They have a waiting room with magazines, tea, water and fruit. It's a cute little place to chill out between treatments (also available is the gym, pool, steam room and sauna). I am giving this place 4 stars because of the price. I probably couldn't afford to make this as regular of a thing as I would like to because it's a little pricey. As a company outting, it was a perfect day! The spa was nice, my facial was perfect! I got the 50 min facial and my friend got one of the massages... The spa was very small but the grounds were beautiful. It was very difficult to make a reservation online , so I needed to call the next day to make sure that my reservation was actually made. Very pleasant staff. read more
