I used to go to Amber, the owner, and the cut was good, but this place is not safe for LGBT+ folks. She made some very rude and intolerant comments to me about people using they/them pronouns (without considering that I or someone I care about might use them) and I never went back. She also used to complain about her financial problems a lot during COVID, and break the health rules. Whichever way you think about whether the rules were reasonable or not, I think we can agree: don't put your customers in the middle of your money problems. This place has Karen vibes. Rude. This is an add-on to my last review about the hair cut I received from Melanie in mid November. I am not sure if both of my reviews will show up together on Yelp, so here is my rewiew 2.5 months later: After 2.5 months, I could not stand looking at my hair anymore and decided to get help from the salon where I was before. So I went back to my previous hair stylist (why did I ever take a chance and went elsewhere...?) today. She took a look at my hair and said that the only way she could fix my hair (after it has grown out for 2.5 months!) was to cut it a LOT shorter because my hair had been thinned out (= "textured") so much, she cut not give me the hair cut I want before it grew even longer. Since I didn't want to lose any more length, she cut in a few places but told me I had to be patient and wait for 2 or 3 MORE months until the hair that Melanie took out could fill in more. Major bummer!! So it will take 5 months + to undo the damage from Melanie's hair cut and to get my normal haircut back - I am not a happy camper. Melanie, restrain yourself and be careful how much hair you cut off when you are just getting to know a new client and their vision of what they are looking for in a haircut.... read more

I got a hair cut from Melanie and am not a fan of how she cut my hair. I will keep it at that. What I am learning is: When you go to a new person, tell them to be VERY, VERY conservative until you know that you really speak the same language and have the same vision. We discussed for quite a while how I would like my hair to look and Melanie explained how she would cut it, and yet we did not have the same vision. Now I am going into the holiday season with a hair cut I don't like. Remember: You can always cut more hair off but you can't glue it back on. That's where I am at.... read more

This review is specifically for Erika. I found Erika because I was looking for a colorist who worked with Goldwell. It was listed somewhere that she did so I called her and she confirmed she did. I gave her my formula and she colored my hair. My hair ended up a mushroom color when it should have been golden blonde. I went to another colorist nearby to get it fixed giving her my same formula and she did it perfectly. The bad coloring skills should have been a red flag for me but I gave her another chance. I made an appointment for a cut. Had to wait about 20 -30 minutes for her because she was running late. Once I came in she said she wasn't sure if I was myself and that's fine. I'm sure it's difficult to remember everyone. When she saw me I specifically asked for a blunt cut with no layers. I'm told her that I am trying to grow out my layers. She ended up making many more layers than what I already had and she made them very short. I'm done with the chances. So now my 6 months of grow out was in vain and I have to grow out my hair again. I think hairstylists should definitely learn to listen to clients and if they can't then maybe they should choose another profession. Just because you claim to know cuts and color doesn't mean you do. The salon has a good vibe to it and I'm sure the other colorists do a great job. I will definitely not be going in again or recommending the salon. read more

Erica is simply amazing. She is a hair therapist and cut/color artist. Her concern goes way beyond how amazing she makes your hair look, but also into how healthy your hair is. She takes time to explain any hair care and product tips to improve your look and hair health without being condescending or pushy. She is easy to talk to (which is important when you take the time for a cut and color) and super down to earth. Parking is easy and the salon is chic yet easy to relax in.....Oh yes and her scalp massage is to die for! I won't be cheating on her anytime soon with any other hair stylist! read more
