    Rockets

For years, every single time I've been to DCA, I have NEVER seen this ride in operation. It was always temporarily closed for some reason or maybe it was just running and then it would break down again and again. Unclear WHAT it is that makes this ride break down so much, but just recently it was less than a 5 minute wait walk on (probably cuz it just broke down and is running again) and my friend and I were like we gotta do this now cuz we never see it running. There's an elevator for DAS pass holders or anyone who needs to use it, but we just took the stairs. There's a couple rockets and 2 per seat with individual seat belts. The ride is QUITE short, but it's a nice breeze and view of the water and what's surrounding. There's no real music or any ambience for this ride, since the music from the Symphony Swings drowns it out. If anything, it's a more milder Symphony Swings since you're not dipping up and down and the speed is much slower, so if you're with a bit more apprehensive people this may be it (unless they too notice the ride keeps breaking down lol). Honestly, anything more than a 5-10 minute wait isn't worth it though in my opinion.

Ground Control to Major Tom (Ten, nine, eight, seven) Commencing countdown, engines on (Six, five, four, three) Check ignition and may God's love be with you (Two, one, liftoff) -Space Oddity Song by David Bowie I can't help but sing that song in my head when I think of this ride! I mean who doesn't want to take off in a rocket? lol Such a cool ride. It swings you around in a circle and is a lot of fun. Great ride. And great song too lolol

Officially known by our 28 m/o son as the rocket swings, this ride never has more than a 5-10 min wait and our son loves it! I do get paranoid he's somehow going to slip out of the seat and into the water down below since there aren't doors on the rockets, but they do make the little ones sit opposite the openings and everyone has a seatbelt. Nevertheless, if you have a squirmy little one, maybe hold an arm over the belly in addition to making sure the seatbelt is nice and tight! It's a bit of a hike to get to the top of the line of this one because its up 2 flights of stairs, so just be aware of that if you have multiple little ones to carry.

The Golden Zephyr ride usually boasts a short waiting period, efficiently loading many riders with a fast-moving line. Enjoy scenic views of the Mickey wheel and the Incredicoaster, and there's no height restriction for riders. On certain evenings, Golden Zephyr closes early to make way for World of Color performances.

Golden Zephyr is located at Disneylands California Adventure in Paradise Gardens Park at the Pier right next to Jumpin Jellyfish ride. You soar high in the sky in a gleaming retro spaceship inspired by science fiction stories of the 1920s. The typical wait time my daughter and I experience on a mid afternoon, during October is 10-20 minutes. It's a short ride, but it's nice to get a good breeze and nice view of the Pier. There is no height restriction required for this ride. It does a lot of spinning in the air though. As per Disney this is a retro rocket ride. You're in a big rocket and it goes around in a circle. At night, the lights of this ride is absolutely stunning!

If it weren't for my 8 and 4 year old I would have not rode this ride, this ride is so boring and out dated! Maybe newer music would help...

Golden Zephyr is one of the corner rides located at the Pixar Pier. Similar ride to the swings next door. Never super crazy busy unless it breaks down and the ride gets backed up. Group seating in the blimp. Kiddos like the ride. Great view when you are spinning around.

Seriously one of my daughters favorite rides This is located in front of the paradise garden parks area which is a little bit after the little mermaid ride and right before the jumping jellyfish ride I adore the simplicity of this ride you are essentially loading onto a rocket shaped vehicle and being spinned circular motion the speed is not too high because my four-year-old loves this ride. It is definitely a nice view spinning in Pixar pier with views of Mickey's Pixar Pala round. The line which you were waiting in to get onto the ride does start on the ground goes up some steps and then ends up on the upper level where the ride is so if you do have a problem with stairs this ride might get a little tricky as far as loading goes Overall we definitely try to ride this at least once when we visit the parks because it is wonderful and it simple nature for my toddler children

Be sure to take off your hat. Oops.

It's a classic ride. Not much on theme or thrill, but it's been a staple for a very long time. It's honestly 2 stars. It's maintained and the line for it is often short, but the novelty gives it an extra star. Good ride to just cool off on. Also, be sure to take off your hat. Oops!

Why is it called the Golden Zephyr when the rockets are silver?
    Steve F.

"You spin me right 'round baby Right 'round like a record baby Right 'round, 'round, 'round" - Dead or Alive, "You Spin Me Round" That pretty much sums up the Golden Zephyr - a very slow ride in a suspended rocket that goes 'round and 'round for about a couple of minutes. While each rocket can hold up to four people, most times there's about 1-2 riders (or less) in each of them. And you just sit in the rocket as it goes slowly off the ground in a circle. In other words, think of this as a much slower version of the Astro Orbiter (or Rocket Jets) in Tomorrowland... if anything, you have a nice view of the park at least. While I appreciate the throwback to the Roaring Twenties, I wondered why and how Americans of the era were so easily entertained by such a ride back then. In today's era, the Golden Zephyr is only good for the kiddies and the resort completist - otherwise, you're not missing much if you skip this one.

    Space Log

We've renamed this ride "Space Logs". That's about as fun as it gets. It's a simple circle gliding ride, and if you're prone to motion sickness (raises hand), it might not be the best ride for you. It certainly isn't a good idea if you're full up from a greasy breakfast. /burp Again, it's a simple and quick ride. The best thing about it was the cast member working the mic that day. He was in full-on performer mode, cracking jokes and adding sound effects at every "launch". His humor was much appreciated. The Space Logs go maybe two or three laps around the base before you're brought back in for your "landing". It was more than enough for this chick, who had to close her eyes to ward off a bout of nausea thirty seconds in. For some reason, the Silly Symphony Swings didn't mess with my equilibrium the way the Space Logs did. Don't think we'll be coming back to this one.

24 straight hours at Disneyland, how can you go wrong?…read more The last time something like this happened was 25 years ago when Disneyland turned 25 and they stayed open for 25 straight hours. Special food options, special entertainment and of course stuff to buy! I got there midway through the afternoon, I had friends who lined up at 10pm the night before since they were giving special edition Mickey ears to the first 2000 people through the gate. They had 3000 people there before the gates even opened at 6am. When I arrived in the afternoon it was busy, but not overly busy. Later in the day it was a different story...they actually hit capacity a few times and closed on more than one occasion. From 930pm to 1am they wouldn't let anyone in at all. The lines got worse as the night wore on, at 4am the line for Space Mountain was 140 minutes long. BUT...if you were there, you didn't really care about riding any rides, you just wanted to be a part of history. I really hope Disneyland does something like this again...I would be one of the first people through the gates. :0)

I'm pretty sure this is my first review in which I've given something Disney-related less than 3…read morestars. I was first excited when I heard about the 24 hour Disney day on leap day. After all, what better way to spend your extra day that only comes every four years at Disneyland? The problem was, everyone in their Mom was about to go balls-to-the-wall on this day as well. I know a few of my friends who stayed the entire 24 hours from 6AM on February 29th to 6AM on March 1st, and for them spending that long at Disneyland was probably worth it. However, the throngs of people I encountered when I attempted to walk through the happiest place on Earth was pretty difficult to endure. I went at night to do it for the story, and maybe stay a little bit their usual hours, but by by the time 11:30 rolled around, it was definitely not worth it. Literally, navigating down Main Street meant being sandwiched between strangers, nearly losing my friends and feeling like cattle. We only got to ride IJ with a wait of about 40 minutes, and that in itself was kind of a miracle because they had shut down the ride (unknown to us), and when they opened it up again, we nearly breezed through the maze. Next, we tried to check out Thunder Mountain Railroad but we found a 2 hour wait...say what? That was when my tiredness had gotten the best of me and I decided to get some ice cream and call it a day. When we left Dland was at capacity...that's like 75,000 people! No wonder the waiting times became sky high. While it was nice to be a part of Disney history, it definitely wasn't "as good as it gets", I'm not a fan, and it wasn't even just "A-OK". Sorry Walt but I've had better than becoming claustrophobic on Main Street.
