Autopia at Disneyland Park is one of those classic rides that is more about the experience than the thrill. It is definitely geared toward kids, but there is still something fun about getting behind the wheel and cruising around the track. Fast Pass is a must. Once you are in the car, it is simple just steer and hit the gas. The track keeps you on course, so it is stress free even if you are not the best driver. That said, the ride itself is pretty basic and has not changed much over the years. It is nostalgic, but compared to newer attractions, it can feel a little outdated. Still, if you are looking for a chill ride or visiting with kids, it is a solid choice. Overall, not a must do thrill ride, but a fun classic that is worth experiencing at least once.

Autopia opened on July 23, 1955 and is one of Disneyland's longest-running attractions. It used to be sponsored by Ford but is now sponsored by Honda. The ride is a guided car ride where you can steer but can only go along the center rail so you stay on course. It doesn't go fast (max ~6-7 mph) so it's a good ride for kids; shorter guests can also ride with an adult. Even though it's one of the oldest rides, it's one of the less fun rides at the park. It can be bumpy and slow, and it's not fun if the car in front of you is slow.

Vrooom vroooom! It's Autopia, where nostalgia runs on tiny gas engines and the scent of childhood is unleaded and unmistakable. Yeah, yeah, it's "just" miniature cars on a track, but don't knock it till you've rumbled (okay, bounced mercilessly and uncomfortably) through those scenic winding roads under that cute little bridge, surrounded by waving robots in scenes of the future and classic Disneyland charm. I rode this as a kid and now, even as a full-grown adult (who probably should've stretched before getting in and out of this lowrider), I still love it. Bottom line: it's worth the inevitable back pain, LOL. The cars are adorable. All brightly painted (unless you don't luck out and get the plain black one) with a retro-futuristic vibe that just screams Disney circa 1950s. Plus, there's a surprising amount to see along the track, especially compared to its Florida cousin. Disney World features a "race" theme while Disneyland has a futuristic "country" drive vibe. Sorry, Florida, but California wins this one. Is it a smooth ride? Absolutely not. Is it cramped? Oh yes. Tall people, you've been warned, this ride wasn't built with your knees in mind. Getting in and out feels like a flexibility test no one signed up for. I get all sorts of aches and pains when I ride this attraction but I still think it's worth it. One of my fave things about this ride is the gas smell. I know I'm a weirdo, but it's so strong but weirdly great. It brings me right back to my childhood. My least fave thing about the ride is the queue area. It's in full sun with zero shade, so you will bake on sunny, hot days. Make sure you wear sunscreen, or wait to ride it in the evenings (or when the line is shorter). The ride is silly, outdated, a little uncomfortable, yet I'll gladly ride it every time I'm here. Autopia forever!!!!!!!!

We walked over to Autopia while waiting for our booked time for FastPass ride to pass some time! It was a cute little ride! You get to drive these mini Honda cars on a track but it was a bit lackluster. Cannot accelerate and they basically set the speed for all the cars, no matter how hard you step on the pedal lol. I get it though since it is meant for all ages. I remember this kind of ride was one that I always needed to hit up, as a kid!

Located in the back corner area of Dinseyland and still a great Honda inspired driving vehicle ride for kids. While you have a track, you still need to drive in order to move, so if you have a teenager, this ride is perfect way to teach them to drive and stay in the lane without bumping. I let my husband drive and he had a great time. As it was his first time. At the end you can pay $10 ea h to get custom Autopia drivers license! A great inexpensive souvenir.tjry have 3 booths and we were having some issues with one booth, the card machine was.not working, but the app allowed us to take pictures. One of the booths was out of order and lines form quickly!!! The booths takes e pictures, and allows you to pick one! So amazing- why hasn't the DMV caught on and do this!!!! I know many who absolutely hate their DMV pic!! A ybiw, they upgraded the card system and i love the new look and thicker material! It is definitely different than the last time we got license! Love it, much better!

Knowing this is more of a kiddie ride, you can curb your expectations this is a F1 go kart racing track haha. Simple safe slow speed to leisurely cruise mini go karts over a set track to avoid potential disasters. Also spring loaded bumpers to minimize injury when some patrons decide to play bumper cars. Weird the pedal is in the middle at first but makes sense so parents can help kids drive it around the track! They have photobooth on the exit side for memories!

This ride is solid. I think I liked this ride more when I was a kid and went on it with my dad. Probably because I thought it was cool to drive. I'm not going to hate on the ride, because I can see why other people might love it and maybe I'm just not the target audience, but I think they probably need a refresh since it is in Tomorrowland. Maybe electric or any non-gas type of vehicle? You can definitely smell the gas/petrol in the air the entire time. On my last visit, I was behind two very young kids...my gut had a bad feeling, haha. I think usually any kid at that age (let alone two) is accompanied by an adult but they just went on anyway...sure enough, they were stopping a bunch of times while on the ride where I had to brake pretty hard not to hit them. I honestly didn't think it was a big deal but was worried the person behind me was going to slam into me sooner or later and jar my neck.

A vintage ride that still has that appeal. Line moves quickly the course is same as always. Cast members are super friendly. Super clean and fun.

This ride is a classic and will always have a place in my heart. Usually the line is not to bad for this one and if you purchased the lighting lane for the day this one is included so makes it even faster. Honestly though the line never seems long maybe 30 minutes if that for stand by. Not sure if kids just don't like coming on this one anymore or if the hype just isn't there anymore but for me I still try to ride every visit. Its pretty basic ride where you drive a go cart type Honda throughout different areas. You just push the gas and are on your way. Just be sure to keep it in line because it is rough if you hit the side. Also be sure not to hit the car in front of you. One thing I will say is it does smell like fumes or gasoline. I guess its not so bad during this short ride but I wonder if its bad for the workers. Overall its a classic and I'm sure not very long from now this will be gone and replaced with something newer and better but while its still here I will still be riding it.

This classic ride always warms my heart every time I'm on it. I loved it as a kid, and now my own children enjoy it just as much. It's more of a gentle cruise than a thrill ride, slow paced, relaxing, and full of charm. I had never experienced it at night before, and I have to say, I think I actually prefer it that way. The scenery feels even more magical after dark, and the whole experience is just more peaceful. It's one of those timeless rides I'll always love.

Autopia race cars sponsored by Honda. How do I know you can see the Honda emblem on the hood. Letting my nephew take the wheel and I'm just a passenger.

A must! When you go to Disneyland. The lines can get very long, prepare yourselves lol. It's a very fun ride. Few years back, the fake license was free but now they cost $8. Booooo... but they have to make their money somehow.

Now I have new requirements and it's not so easy I have epilepsy, fibromyalgia and some other things that prevent me from being in lines or around large crowds so standing in one guest services line for an extended period each day to get accommodations doesn't make sense. The app is also not very user friendly for getting a membership for exactly the same price as a 6month season pass. The water slides are enough to keep kids having fun for a while. For added fees there are other optional activities but seems more geared toward younger kids. so why 4 out of 5 stars? Because I've been to the one in northern california (manteca). This property seems older. More crowded, and just doesnt have the same lodge vibes. There simply isnt the same WOW factor as the Manteca location. There is no parking garage in Manteca but instead a vast land of parking spaces. So the Lodge just commands attention and shows you are about to enter something grand. Here they use a parking structure and although efficient it just doesnt give of same vibes. The "Grand Lobby" here is also just meh. The area and space seems so fragmented and doesnt have a good flow. The manteca location is structured so well. You walk in from the main entrance and you are really in a Grand Lobby with the towering fireplace. Here its off to the side and now filled with arcade games. That fireplace is usually the photo spot for families in Manteca. Here you really dont have that. People have said the waterpark itself is better here. If it is, I didn't notice it too much. It isn't that much better to really matter. The wave pool here definitely is stronger which is very cool. But the lazy river, and everything else seems on par. I believe they have an extra attraction with the surf/wake board simulator. So IMO, the Manteca location is better overall. Great M-F deals. -my kids did the high ropes course and liked it. We hit the arcade for about 15 minutes, they didn't really like it (but it's under construction, they were moving machines up into the lobby). -I brought chocolate croissants and muffins, we ate bfast in the room. The rooms have large mini fridges, there's a small microwave where the ice machines are on each floor, there's a good enough weird coffee machine in each room. -we loaded our regular bags into the car, checked out of our of the room at 9:40, got into the line for the pool. -got plenty of chairs together for the adults. -my advice: you do not needs chairs for each kid, especially older kids. They stop by, sit, and bounce. Most people eat at the tables, there are signs that people can only sit at tables for 30 min, we never had a problem eating at tables (it's so much easier). The Bucket food place in the pool area is just not good, it's very cafeteria and expensive. -I saw about 15 people slip and fall, mostly near the life jacket stand outside the wave pool. Like full on hard falls. An employee has a floor squeegee, but it's pretty useless. Even people walking slipped. -the headboards in the renovated rooms are pretty bad and dangerous. They have posts spaced out like 5 inches that have right-edge corners, so, sharp. And the pillows are not enough and not fluffy. When you lean back, your head slams into those pillar posts. My daughter's head went right between two posts so she hit both sides of her head on the posts. I hit my head too. Who the hell thought that was a great design? After that issue, I noticed all the hard corners on everything in the room. My kids are older now, but parents or younger kids, take note.
