Cute little bakery with lots of open space. We tried a milky cream donut and the garlic butter salt bread. The donut was light and fluffy. The salt bread was a little bit denser and was more just like bread, nothing really spectacular about it.

Got some donuts to-go and was pretty happy! Tried the pistachio, earl grey, strawberry, and matcha. All of them were very pretty and consistently prepared. The standout in flavor however was definitely the earl grey. Really nice balance between the lemon and tea flavor. The matcha and strawberry were also good, but the strawberry was very mild in flavor.

I was in need of a pick me up while visiting the Gastown Steam Clock and figured I'd grab a donut from Lee's which is right across the street. There is an overwhelming amount of unique flavors and all of which I would have loved to try. I opted for the matcha and German chocolate donut and wow! I had no idea Canada was known for donuts but I can now understand why. The donuts are super light and airy which I prefer. The reason I don't care for donuts at least in the US is because they're always so dense but it was the complete opposite here. The donuts at Lee's also had a nice crispiness on the outside which added a nice texture. They are also not overly sweet and had great flavor! I especially love the location of this shop because you can do some souvenir shopping on this street and get your pictures of the steam clock. Had I known about this place earlier in my trip I would have loved to come back a second time but at least now I know for the next time that I visit Vancouver. Can't wait to come back for these donuts!

Personally, I prefer yeast donuts, because I prefer the airy-ness over denseness. As we were visiting the infamous steam clock and waiting for it to steam, we noticed a notice shop right at the corner, so decided to make a stop in to try their donuts. We tried their Bavarian Filled Yeast Donut, which was filled with vanilla custard. The donut part was chewy and doughy while the vanilla cream was creamy and not too sweet. Overall, a nice treat to have when in the area.

Insane Venezuelan Dulce de Leche Lattes…read more Starbucks Caramel Lattes can go take a walk. * * * Chocolate donuts with strawberry icing with massive huge strawberry taste in the icing. The only good frosted donut I have ever eaten with complete wonderment. (Actually, I have not had that many good donuts in over 72 years of donut eating. I am not sure how cops on break tolerate the average American or Canadian donut. But thank god, they eat them so I don't have to.) But I would eat donuts all day and all night at 49th Parallel. What a place!

Brownie points for convenience. My husband ordered a double espresso and in true men's fashion claimed it to be "solid". I ordered the maple sea salt shaken espresso and it was *chefs kiss*. If you are a sweet and salty lover, get it! It won't disappoint you. We also ordered the Doug sandwich and the Avo sandwich. Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice! The cafe was clean and they have a water dispenser available for customers. Service was ok, but I think they were just a bit busy.
