This eventually led to marriage...and a great kid...me duh! Ok so I guess my sisters are pretty cool too, but I'm off topic! A few days ago, my mother took chip off to wash her hands, and it fell into the garbage disposal. Unknown to my mother, who turned on the disposal and whose heart dropped the minute she heard the awful noise only metal against blades makes. Retrieving the ring proved her fears right. Mangled and bent, the ring was bad...but it still had its diamond in place!! Therefore my sister took to Yelp in order to find a jeweler. The good reviews here led the family to Carson Tahoe Jewelry. My sister went in and was greeted by Mitch who was busy at work fixing other jewelry. She told them the story of the ring and Mitch stopped what he was doing and says..."Let's do this now!" She handed him the ring and legitimately 5 min later it looked as if the ring had never even fell into the disposal...aka the place where jewelry seldom returns. Family. Is the word that comes to mind when I think Carson Tahoe Jewelry...because they care.

Due to the business's failure to complete the agreed-upon services and return my property, I have filed a Code Enforcement complaint with the Carson City Community Development Department against the licensed business. On May 29, 2026, I entrusted my ring to the business for a limited, agreed-upon modification and provided reference photos of the requested design. The agreed-upon work was limited to: * Removing the center diamond. * Setting the center diamond into a plain solid white gold band. * Soldering the original ring together so the remaining side diamonds formed a continuous band, with no other modifications. The estimated completion time was two weeks. After repeated delays, missed deadlines, and lack of communication, I requested that Mrs. Kynett stop the work and return my ring in its original condition. On July 9, 2026, Mrs. Kynett agreed, assured me the ring had been restored to its original condition, and repeatedly promised to return my property. Despite these assurances, the ring was never returned, and the promised return date continued to be pushed back week after week. Finally, on July 26, 2026, Mrs. Kynett scheduled a meeting to return my ring but failed to appear. She later stated she would personally deliver it to me that evening but failed to do so. As of the date of this review, despite numerous requests and repeated assurances, my property has still not been returned. I am documenting and sharing these events so that other consumers can make informed decisions before entrusting this business with their personal property. ** I have 2 police reports filed against them and on July 28th, My property was partially returned in damaged condition, not all diamonds that the ring once held were given back and what was once a ring they turned into scraps of metal balls. Now to the negatives: Janis set the time for completing the work, something like 5 weeks and I was okay with that, but then when the week arrived she said she 'hoped' to have it done by the end of the week, but then did not complete it. (no it was not supply chain issues, it was her). She had it ready the following week. This business is a single proprietor and she closes the shop for extended periods for family visits, etc. So speed is not her strength. More importantly, I ordered and paid for museum glass, and yet when I hung it at home it had terrible reflections and glare from all angles. I finally took it to a frame shop closer to home (Lone Tree is about 35 minutes from my home) and they quickly noted that it was conservation glass, not museum glass. I had them replace it with museum glass and the difference is huge. So in conclusion, nice woman, good taste, slow worker, and makes errors on your work.
