I love coming to golds gym. It's always clean and they offer a variety of classes. My favorite is the yoga class with Sarah. I'm always greeted when I come in and I love how many different machines they have! Definitely my favorite gym in town. read more

Here is the original review again, with the name deleted** Wow! If you are at all disabled, DO NOT go here!!! Also, DO NOT deal with the blond front desk girl J******* at the front desk!!! It is so loud in there, she has to shout to be heard and I have had a tracheotomy and a portion of my vocal cords removed, so I cannot shout back or be heard, so I use an app on my phone to communicate. She has no patience or customer service skills, especially if you need any accommodations. Her obvious mistreatment, disrespect and discrimination against people with disabilities, hearing and otherwise was completely unacceptable. I had to go back, with my husband as backup, to try to get any help or answers. Amazingly, the male on staff and the manager on duty helped him immediately and were completely accommodating to him. I feel bad leaving one star, since the manager was eventually nice. But I went back several days later, and she is still on the front desk, so obviously nothing had been done about it. If you are looking for a good gym, I highly recommend Crunch Gym on Erringer. Gavin, Aiden and Richard were all so welcoming and friendly, that even though I wasn't planning on it, I signed up on the spot! I will tell everyone I know about this experience and definitely NOT recommend this location specifically! ******UPDATE****** The manager left a very nice reply to my first review. Greeted when I came in, easily found an available and clean treadmill, and ended with my favorite thing at the gym--time in the steam room.

My rating changes every so often because management changes so often. But currently, Edwin (I think he's the GM) took matters into his own hands and heard the request and he delivered whoop whoop I have been a member here for years on and off and noticed the floor mats for abs or stretch are a disgust. They are old, always missing, torn, feel filthy to the touch and saturated with millions of people's old sweat and DNA. So I asked Edwin if he's ever laid on one of the mats or touched the film of filth himself. I asked him why they are always missing and why there is like 1-2 torn mats for all members to share (barf) and he said members have had issues STEALING mats‍ come on Simi Valley!! Why you gotta be so ghetto!? Don't.steal.the.mats. So after I asked Edwin what he thinks we would see if I got a microscope sample of the 1-2 gross mats we all share and pleaded with him to get new mats he said he will try again to order some and hope people don't steal them. I went out of town for a bit and just returned to Golds this am and BAM new mats shinning in their clean plentiful glory! I think I saw like a healthy 8 new mats hanging up! So big PROPS to Edwin. Chances are this guy will move on to bigger better things than this gym cause he deserves a raise, but for now, thanks for caring about the gym members!! read more

It's a bit frustrating when you sign up for a class , two bikes are broken and all the spots are taken. I drove here to get my workout done and the instructor didn't even say sorry . This was disappointing. Is there a point of ur guys app ?! The front desk claims they'll talk to the instructor but it's not their fault? What is that even gonna do . Please just fix it read more

Honestly, this gym is super outdated. It feels like everything's just falling apart. A lot of the equipment is either broken or so worn out it barely works. There's no real showroom or space that feels taken care of, and the lighting is terrible -- it makes the whole vibe feel off. It really seems like the place is struggling to keep up, and it's kind of a letdown, especially when you're using this location as your home gym. read more

Out of all the golds, simi valley got to be my favorite one, it's never too packed like the Northridge one(big no) you can always get a good workout in , they got good machines and I love how they have an outside area, where you can workout and get that good sun in as well.. and I love how spacious it is, the staff is always friendly, don't listen to any bad reviews this gym is the best!! read more

Gold's Gym is a phenomenal gym. I like because I like riding the bike and walking on the Treadmill while watching a good movie in the Golds Gym Theatre. I can also use the weights and weight machines. Sometimes I like getting in the Jacuzzi to relax. In the Summer I like taking a few laps in the Swimming pool. I also love the Sauna and steam room. I find the experience luxurious. People always tell me I'm lucky I'm small. I think I'm lucky to have a beautiful, fully equipped Gym in Simi Valley where I live. read more

This gym created terrible experience for my son who is a college student in the area. We initially went to the gym on a Groupon and when that expired, I personally contacted the gym and was clear that my son was to be month to month. The front desk employee spoke directly to me and we discussed one month at a specific price. There was no mention of a membership fee or otherwise. We were charged the price discussed that DID NOT include a membership. They had my 18 yr old son sign a contract that was not clear. Come December, I called and they tried to tell me that we did not pay the membership fees and that we would be charged late fees. Baffling...They tried to charge my card 3 different amounts during the holidays as well. Finally, my son went back after winter break and after a long, confusing call, we decided not to go back and now they are saying that we will still be charged monthly fees no one agreed to and potentially go to collections. What a joke of a place. They even fessed up to NOT telling us about those membership charges and tried to offer us a $69 deal. Now I have to reach out to their general manager to resolve. The only person that loses out is my kid sadly because we can't trust these guys ever again. Absolute joke. read more

I usually go this gym 2 hours before closing, Today I was so disappointed with the housekeeping (Luis). I was using the treadmill & before using the machine I would wipe or clean the machine. In my midpoint I was ask by the housekeeping (Luis) to leave the machine because they're cleaning the area. It seems that their time is more important than customers. I ask why don't they clean after closing time, he doesn't know and the cleaning instructions are coming from Managment. Would be good if they put a warning sign that cleaning time in this area would be at ..... Speaking of cleaning, yes they do clean the floor area but the dumbbells or barbells are definitely not clean, not once I've seen them clean them. The Managment and crew needs to improve their customer service. How could I recommend this gym to friends! read more

So this gym has nice features that's why I go there but the front desk staff were so rude today and I've heard the same from others but didn't believe it until now. Its very cringey to pay for a membership and ask an employee at golds a question about the gym and they are short and rude about the answer as if they aren't getting paid to do so. read more

Thanks and Appreciation to Gold's Management Team! Tony Johnson (Regional Director) and Rich (Simi Valley Golds director) were outstanding in resolving a situation at Golds Simi Valley today. The problem was that a few people were continually wearing shoes in the sauna and steam room. This issue is very important to me because of the related health hygiene issue. It is well known that street shoes bring in bacteria, fungi, viruses, sickness, and filth into a busy area where they can spread, grow, and easily infect people. Tony and Rich were inspecting the locker room today and saw a group of men enter the sauna wearing street shoes. Tony told the men that they could not stay with those shoes on. This is the gym's Health Policy and is posted on a sign at the door. One of the men loudly argued and got in Tony's face. In spite of the disrespect and aggressive attitude, Tony remained calm, but firm. Then the group left the locker room without further incident. This is an example of outstanding behavior and self-control. These employees should be commended. I really appreciate their positive actions and concerns in resolving this issue. I am a long time member of Golds Gym and can say that these guys care about their customer's health and safety. Thank-you! read more

Unfortunately, this branch is a shit show. Throughout the year, you can find several machines broken for weeks at a time. When summer arrives, they are extremely cheap about utilizing the air conditioning for members. They're quick to collect your membership dues. But god forbid anything needs repair, you'll find a line behind the machines. read more

I've never had any type of issue with you guys. but today for some reason my bar code tag was not working, so this nice lady at the front desk is trying to help me, my bar code shows my brother's name, he's under my membership, so this employee is trying to fix it, then a guy showed up dont know for what reason, checks my membership that's ok, then is asking me to download a mobile app which I don't want in my phone, I tell him I have only one hour to work out, everything is fine with my account let me in, he's insisting in me getting the app, I don't care about no app, I just want to do my work out which I only have one hour to do, I making time in my day to just go and do a simple work out, and then go back to my day, is that difficult to understand that. stop trying to make things more complicated, maybe some other day with more time I'll go and chat with the dude and tells me how to set up the app, but not today. today I don't have time. i didnt get no app and didn't get to work out cause this guy wanted me to get the app to let me in to the gym. read more

I'm a new member to Gold's Gym. My husband and I were both helped by Andres and Javier. They were both welcoming, kind, helpful and very informative. They made sure all of our questions were answered and Javier gave us a wonderful tour. and honestly, compared to all the other gyms in Simi Valley....this one is the best. It's super clean and it has everything you need. Only thing I wish they had is a better cycling schedule. A 7:00am cycling class M-F or MWF sounds heavenly..... 5:30am is just toooo early and 9:30am is a little too late for a working day. read more
