When I tell you, Brilliant Earth and Zoe knocked me off my feet, I am not exaggerating. This experience from start to finish was exceptional. Zoe was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, professional, friendly, kind, and so much more. She made this experience absolutely amazing for us. Before our appointment, she reached out to touch base about our interests and likes / dislikes. Upon arrival, she was able to point out and show us all the pieces that aligned with our interests. She did show us other pieces as well, just to make sure we were given all of the options and we were able to mark those items off our lists. Any question we had, she had the answers. She did not make us feel dumb when asking even what may have seemed like a small, or silly question. She walked us through all of the steps and made sure to touch base on all of the aspects of the engagement ring buying process, some topics we didn't even think to touch base on before she brought them up. Zoe was extremely patient and so helpful during our appointment. She made sure we felt understood and heard, she prioritized our wants and needs. We were most interested in lab created diamonds for both of our rings, something in solitaire settings, and later on, more intricate wedding bands. She took her time when going through options with the 4 C's and again, answered any and all questions we had with confidence and clarity. Even after our appointment, I had a few follow up questions and needed help clarifying a few things and details, to no surprise, Zoe responded in a timely manner and was just as thorough and helpful through email, as she was in person. And most of my collection is sterling silver so, naturally, I would gravitate toward a store where the collection is primarily in silver (though they work in gold and other metals as well). But, while most such stores have a rather boring collection that I see again and again, I am always impressed by the wonders I encounter here. While Hi Ho Silver caries lovely classic silver rings with semi-precious stones and handsome chains, there are also some pieces that really need to be seen to be believed. There was an entire collection of two and three tone pendants (silver, brass and copper) that were translations of classic works of art! There was a pendant that was based on Klimt's "The Kiss", another based on Goya's "The Witches' Sabbath" and yet another based on Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring." And that was just three! There were quite a few more. One of the jewelers seemed very pleased with my and my friend's art historical knowledge and she chatted quite a bit about jewelry, art, mythology and folklore with us. As an anthropologist, I was really excited that one of her pieces was based on the Venus of Willendorf. My one reservation was that I have so much jewelry that I didn't find a piece that wouldn't simply live in my jewelry box. Though, to be fair, I wouldn't mind just taking one of these pieces out of a box and admiring it from time to time. My highest recommendations for a visit. My dad passed away recently. For a hobby, he was a watch collector and a watch repair person. He…read morehad a collection of about 100 watches, some of which are relatively valuable (mostly Hamilton watches, but some other brands too). Not knowing anything about watches myself, I asked my dad's estate lawyer what to do with my dad's large collection and he recommended going to The 1916 Company. Before my visit, I texted with service manager Frances Simon to share pictures of my dad's watches and Frances recommended that I bring the collection to the store so that watch expert Paul Winicki could examine them. The goal was to determine whether it was worth getting my dad's watches officially appraised (which is costly). Paul and Frances met with me for nearly *two hours* looking at each watch, explaining their history in great detail, and estimating their value. It's clear that Paul is an extremely knowledgeable watch guru -- I rarely meet a person like Paul who knows so much about one thing and is so enthusiastic about educating others about it. I walked in feeling lost, sad about my dad's passing, and not knowing what to do with his collection -- and also a bit intimidated because the items they sell at The 1916 Company are so luxurious and not anything that I typically buy. But they welcomed me very warmly, met with me for so long, and answered all my questions with patience and an open mind. I found exactly the right people to help me and left knowing exactly what to do with my dad's collection. Paul and I have since emailed a few times about related questions. I'm so grateful for Paul's and Frances's wonderful help -- which they did completely (and unbelievably) for free!
