Matt installed several 240v lines for baseboard and radiant floor heat, a bathroom ceiling vent fan where one did not previously exist and separated several lines that were being overloaded. We have a typical 50s home with plaster ceilings and walls and he was able to accomplish all this by either using the existing conduit or finding an opening to run new conduit, which meant we didn't have to break through the plaster and have to patch and repaint. In comparison to other electricians who provided us quotes, he was the most innovative in terms of how to get the job done and he was also very helpful with suggestions on good products and energy efficiency approaches. How often do you need an electrician in a lifetime really, but when you do, you need someone who is reliable, punctual and honest on work you know nothing about, especially on short notice. We were closing in on a house, and a few days before closing, the lender threw us a curb ball on 2 electrical outlets that needed to be fixed. All the other electrical companies my husband called, was either having to leave a message on a machine, or too busy and had to schedule after a few days. I found "Gold Stream Electrical", through Yelp, & Mathew, the owner, took my call and after hearing our plight, rearranged his busy day schedule to accommodate us that early afternoon. With our luck, I had my fingers crossed that this guy would show up at all. Much to our surprise, he came right on time, addressed the issues in minutes. Matt and Goldstream Electrical are fantastic. I've used them several times now, for big jobs such as changing my main breaker; and some smaller jobs such as installing a switch for an overhead light and putting in some new outlets. He is a great electrician, always wears footies on his shoes when he's indoors (even though in our house you really don't need to), does great work for a reasonable price, and is VERY reliable. Matt did a great job! He was super responsive via text message (even when I texted him on accident!) and explained everything in a way that I could understand. I had a couple add-ons to our order and he was able to let me know cost in advance, and let me know what he would have to evaluate at the house in looking at it. Our house has older electric and he explained to us what needed to be done and why. They were clean and timely and did everything in the exact way I would expect. This company does not take shortcuts and is fair in price for the quality of work that they perform.
