The Goleta Bakery is snuggled in between other similar appearing buildings and is very easy to miss, yet worth seeking out. This small family-run bakery specializes in a large variety of traditional Mexican pan dulce & pastries, as well as standard bakery items & sweet treats. They offer breakfast selections, in addition to burritos, tortas and other specialities. Stopped in for a mid-afternoon coffee, and couldn't resist their goodies as everything looked inviting. Despite the time of day, they still had a decent selection of offerings to choose from. Their delicious pastries are of generous proportions, and made my waist sighed with delight. Another 3-mile run coming up!

Opened for Thanksgiving, this charming hole-in-the-wall is an easy to miss classic mom-and-pop with traditional mexican bakery items: conchas, banderas, coyotas, galletas de bodas, orejas, as well as American fare cinnamon buns, fruit croissants, donuts, donut holes and fritters. The chocolate sprinked donut I had was VERY sugary - so much that I couldn't finish. Otherwise, the concha breads were fabulously fluffy and fresh, soft on the inside and crunch on the outside. I also ordered Avena, or Mexican oatmeal, served in a coffee cup which was a little weird for having to suck oats out of a small hole, but nonetheless hearty and good for you - just the right sweetness. Finally, two very hot coffees, and they packed different flavor creams, sugars and stirrers in a separate bag for our take-out. Very friendly service, like the kind you only get from local establishments that know your name. Best of all, the entire order - less than $10!

AMAZING!! I love Goleta Bakery and the woman that runs it! My favorite time to go is right at opening after working a night shift at my job. The bakery smells amazing and has endless sweet options from conchas to donuts and everything in between. My go to order is chocolate conchas! They are fluffy, with a sweet sugar topping. Perfect breakfast and all my friends love them too. Highly recommend supporting this small business!

I had family in town this weekend and wasn't sure if Sunday breakfast at 9:30 in Goleta with a large group would work well, but it was great! The manager and his staff were incredible, truly outstanding service. I don't generally notice service much at restaurants unless it's really bad, but today was so impressive I had to review. Manager jumped in immediately to put tables together (there is a lot of seating now by the Thai place), made good food recommendations, when one of our large party arrived after the rest of us they got his order in immediately so his food arrived with ours (even though there was a long line), all the food came quickly and was beautifully plated. Staff checked on us multiple times and manager suggested and took a nice family group photo. I hope he and the staff are well compensated because they were working so hard, SO friendly, really great at their jobs, and made our morning! Over and above service for any restaurant, let alone an order at the counter one. The food was also delicious, but I expected that ;)

Personally, I'm partial to the Goleta location since it offers a small breakfast and lunch menu My go-tos are the Spring Greens Sandwich, Trout Toast, and the Farmer's Market Frittata, which always feels fresh and seasonal. I'm also mildly obsessed with their Olive Rosemary Focaccia and the jalapeño basil cashew spread. Honestly, I'd put that spread on just about anything. Service is counter style with friendly staff, and there's a beautiful glass case showcasing the day's dishes and fresh breads. I love a good visual moment when deciding what to order, and this place definitely delivers. Just note that popular items can sell out, so going earlier is better. Their bread menu changes depending on the season and produce availability, which keeps things interesting. You'll also find gluten-free options, sweets, and dry goods if you want to take a little something home. The patio is cute and sun-filled, perfect for lingering with coffee and a pastry. Parking is street parking only, but on weekdays there's usually ample neighborhood parking nearby. Just note they're closed Sundays and Mondays, so plan your carb pilgrimage accordingly.

There is a wide selection of donuts (including fun seasonal varieties) and the donuts are fresh (and almost fully stocked) no matter what time I buy them (even in the evening). I also love the hearty drip coffee. It's perfect to balance my sweet, scrumptious donut. I've had some of the seasonal donuts but my favorites are the Tiger tail (glazed twist with chocolate behind the counter) and the apple fritter. I also appreciate that the prices are reasonable. Been to some places where the "artisanal" donuts are more than $4 and not worth it. The most that I'm paid for a donut (my giant apple fritter that I can eat for days) is $3.95. Again, my favorite donut place and I am a donut monster.

The staff was friendly, although the donut selection was a little picked over when we arrived. My chocolate glazed donut was delicious, and they still had several specialty donuts to choose from. My only complaint was seeing a fly inside the donut display case, which was definitely a turn off Overall, I liked the vibe, the 24 hour convenience, and my donut. I'd give them another try hopefully with a fuller and fly-free display case next time. This place is located in a shopping center near Target with plenty of seating inside, including a lounge style area that seems perfect for college students looking for a place to study or hang out.
