Couple of things with this store. They don't care about the customer one little bit. I had to go in a few days in a row just to get what I had set out to buy. The manager himself told me this: "We are not Uinta Golf. We don't honor our return/exchange policy". Funny enough I had talked to one of the employees before that and he told me no questions asked you can exchange for the right product. So the Service is not good, the selection is mediocre (Compared to someone like PGA Tour Superstore or Scheels) and there is never any sales found in the store. According to the manager their return/exchange policy is garbage too. Save yourself the headache and go to Uinta Golf, PGA Tour Superstore, or Scheels and have fun with purchasing golf gear (As it should be). Instead of going in and being treated like absolute trash. Nobody working here could give a rats can about you being in here. I came into this store planning to drop some money on a few things I had been needed to buy and spent approx an hour in the store and not a single person approached me. They would speed walk by to look busy and ask everyone near by if they needed help but failed to even make eye contact with me as I would look up to see if anyone was even in my radius. I went into the store and was completely ignored. The store wasn't busy either, just a couple of other customers. A group of about 6 were at the back store just shooting the breeze, some were customers, some were employees. I walked around the store several times and not one person asked if I needed help. Wanted to try two drivers. Planning on getting a new driver and three wood. Was in the store for 20 minutes. No one asked me if I wanted help or anything. Two guys working, one was helping someone and the other just walking around. They weren't busy, just me and another guy. Seems to me when a customer is holding two drivers you should ask if they need help. I guess I'll take my business down the road. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. First of all no one wants to help you with anything when you walk in the store. Second of all, I ordered the new tsr3 driver after getting fitted. The guy said it should ship within 2 days so I added the 2 day shipping. 1 week later I still didn't hear anything so I called them and they said it's not expected to ship until mid October, asked if they could cancel my order and I would order from somewhere else and they said no, not until the order gets here and then I could return for store credit. I've stopped by twice recently to buy the new Taylormade P790s. Just wanting to try the difference between graphite and steel shafts. Both times I was not helped and waited for 30 minutes before I left. Apparently they don't need to sell anything. Much better service at Uinta Golf and the PGA Superstore. read more

Now seeing the other reviews the behaviors I experienced clearly aren't unique. Lost a customer for life. In July, while sizing women's clubs for my wife we were told she needed extra length (she's 5'10"). We selected a full set up Pings and were give a 3 week arrival. The following month I called to check the status of the order and 10 or 15 minutes on hold was given an arrival date for Tuesday the next week and told to come in after 2pm. I went down the following Thursday and after the pro who sold us the clubs made several checks in the back room I was told the clubs didn't arrive. Checking the system it showed Ping was back ordered 6 months. I explained that wasn't what we were told at order and I mentioned my call to check status the prior week. I was then told that no one would have given me a 3 week window and that I'm wrong (not stated gently). I said "Okay, let me check with my wife as the clubs are for her." I put the call on speaker and Asked "...I'm at Golf Galaxy, do you remember when they told us your clubs would arrive?". My wife said "I think they said 3 weeks..." Which the guy doing the club repair said "that's a lie we can't even get parts in 3 weeks from Ping". I thanked my wife and ended the call and asked for a refund, explaining we would not have purchased the clubs if they weren't arriving until winter. I was told there were no refunds on special order clubs and was shown fine print on the receipt. I explained that was unacceptable to me and explained the clubs clearly haven't even been started to be made. I then asked to reach a manager and was taken into the General Managers office who upon my entering office bolted out of his chair and started cursing and wildly gesturing with his hands "No Refund". With a great deal of effort to get any words in from my side I reminded him to be professional and that this wasn't personal but that I would be getting my money back. Finally he conceded but not before other Golf Galaxy employees started piling on as if they couldn't wait to unload on a customer who simply wanted to transaction approximately $1,300 with Golf Galaxy. read more

So, I do, or did, like this store. Good selection, clean, generally nice staff. But I had such a weird experience there today I have to share it. Imagine experiencing this - you're in the back of your golf shop with your 18-year old son, who's swinging a couple 2 irons trying to decide which to get. He's finding his groove and hitting them well, about 250-260 carry for whatever that's worth, when out of the blue the resident pro literally yells at him from behind the service counter (and in front of a bunch of other customers!) "don't keep your left arm straight, that's so STUPID" and then goes on an angry rant about how "stupid" people are (used that word 3x) that they think they need to do that, and that it "makes him so mad." Now, my son is an 8 handicap, and while good, is always working to get better and certainly open to constructive input from a pro. This was not that. This was an out-of-the-blue, unsolicited, unprovoked, embarrassing, and actually angry attack on a customer that honestly freaked my son out a little. It was so weird and uncomfortable! And that was the part that really struck me as I stood there trying to process "did that really just happen?" This man was visibly and audibly angry(!), in the middle of the afternoon, standing in the back of a retail store, because apparently he didn't like my son's swing. Yikes. We told the manager about this bizarre verbal attack (and to be very clear, that's what it was), and the manager was gracious enough. But, adding further insult to the whole weird exchange, when my son (probably unwisely but still riding a wave of adrenaline the experience had left him with), tried to break the discomfort by joking that the employee has a screw loose, the manager responded that this employee "is just passionate" and that he (the manager) doesn't appreciate our calling the employee names. Fair enough. But your, um... "passionate" employee just launched into an tirade for no reason and literally called a kid and buying customer stupid, in front of other customers. So let's again be clear where the name calling began, and who was actually out of line. WAY out of line. I have to say, too, based on what I saw, it seems very unlikely that this hasn't been brought to your attention before. I strongly recommend you handle that liability - and personally, I won't ever be back in your shop. read more

I really wish I had read the reviews before driving down to this store. I waited for 20 minutes while the staff played on their phones and generally ignored me and my son. Let me preface this review by saying that I have been out of the country for the last four years, and I have had this particular set of golf clubs that I am playing now for five years. My guess is that prices on quality golf equipment have skyrocketed since I've been gone, because the prices I saw when I went to Golf Galaxy were enough to put me into sticker shock. I will shop around before I make my final judgement about the prices, but let's just say I only bought one small item while I was there. I need a new putter, but the cheapest one they had was $149.00!!! Even though I was in India for those four years, my memories of golf stores revolve around the large Golfmith stores in Southern California. Perhaps I got used to those stores and the numerous employees they had walking around willing to help you in all departments, because the Golf Galaxy store seemed a little small, and a little sparse when it comes to stocking all of the goodies that go along with playing golf. I generally try to replace my golf clubs once every five years, so I was looking forward to checking out some of the new technological advances in the golf irons since I bought mine. However, I think it would be silly for me to spend that kind of money. In their defense, I did stand by and watch a golf club fitting session going on, and the professional golf club fitter sounded like he really knew his stuff. I know that we need professionals like him to get a proper fit, but it still seems to me that the prices can be beat by Golfsmith and other golf discount warehouses online. I have purchased enough golf equipment over the years to know the length, flex, and lie angle for any clubs I will buy so my need for a professional fitter has long past. Perhaps I am being a little too harsh because of the general high prices of golf equipment now, and I promise to shop around and review this review and perhaps add a fourth star before long. In the meantime, I sure miss Golfsmith and I wish they would decide to open a store in Salt Lake City. read more

Needed youth golf clubs for my endlessly growing taller teenage son. Maxfli, full set $299 , that will be fine because he will have outgrown them by next weekend. A lot of selection of clothing and equipment with tuning and a virtual golf course to enable a little practice before you buy. I was there on a weekday at lunchtime and they seeded to be short staffed, it took a while to find someone to serve me and even longer to check out once I'd found what I needed. read more

Used to be a decent store with knowledgeable and helpful people. In market for new driver and had an unbelievably frustrating experience. Made me feel like I was an idiot but fell for their paid fitting, what a waste of money. Asked the head guy difference between two shafts and he didn't know and said he had to run to appt and handed me off. Went back a few days later and the employee helping me and another customer disappeared. Finally someone came by and said they were on an important phone call. Not sure who's in charge or what their deal is but they're either going out of business or need a new manager who cares. I gave both my sons money to by new drivers. I went in to buy new clubs and waited for 45 min before ANYONE decided to ask me for help. I was passed by 3 different reps and no eye contact, no acknowledgement what so ever. These guys are a bunch of clowns. I had a wood and hybrid reshafted here and they didn't make them the correct length that I asked for. They put the labels up instead of down, so now every time I address the ball I get to read "grafalloy prolaunch blue launch monitor tuned by graffalloy 75 grams stiff." Ha.. I went in 3 different times to pick them up and every time they said sorry they'll be done tomorrow. It took every nerve in my body to not lose my cool when I found out they weren't even done right! Nice indoor putting area to try out a few putters before making the purchase. They can customize if you need extra length in your shaft, which was the case for me being so tall. If I could give negative stars to this store, I would. 8:00 pm, Tuesday September 19th I'm on my way home from work, and remembered I needed some new grips and solvent. With no help from these geniuses, I located and rounded up about 15 Golf Pride MCC Align's. Eleven bucks each. While there, I spotted a vintage set of clubs that interested me. They were old, and I couldn't make out the shaft flex on the shaft band, so I went back into the repair area to wet a paper towel to clean the band. From across the empty store, I hear a voice. "Sir, I can't have you back there." Not "Can I help you" or any greeting if the sort. Needless to say I was taken aback, but I explained to the sales idiot why I was in that area. When I explained the situation to him, he said "Is that your club or mine?" At this point I'm furious. I said to him "It's yours to keep now." , along with the $160.00 worth of grips. As I departed, I complimented him on his tact and skill and clarified to him why this shitty store is going belly up. Avoid the aggravation of this place. Spend your hard earned dollars at Uinta or PGA Superstore. This place has always been a joke, and it looks they are gonna go down. Hard. read more

Extremely disappointed. I own a retail store and I realize employees aren't perfect, but management better have their back. Especially when two employees are involved in the situation. Had my eye on a rangefinder for my wife for Christmas. Galaxy had a Black Friday deal with just what I was looking for. Only one problem, I couldn't make it in. My bad. Figured I would give it a shot by going in the following week, just in case they still had the deal. I was informed the item was out of stock, but was told they could get it in from another location. I said, "any chance you will honor the $149 price?" Was told, "you bet!" They (two employees) checked the other location and confirmed they could get one in for me. Again, I confirmed that it would be the same price. May have even asked a third time, just to make sure. Anyway, this is where I made a big mistake. I should have paid right then and there. Again, my bad. They took my information and told me they would give me a call in a few days, when the item came in. Almost a week later, no call. I finally called to see if the item came in and it had. From the sound of it, didn't even appear they had pulled one and put my name on it. I told them to please put my name on one and I would be in to pick it up. Made a special trip to pick it up. The young gal I had worked with was not there, so another employee rang me up, only to have it ring up $30 more. After 5 minutes of, "so you guys are not going to follow through as promised?" Spare yourself the frustration and give this store a pass. The staff are a bunch of idiots. They don't know what they are talking about, they try to upsell you before you even settle on the first thing you went in for. I asked for a fitting and the guy told me I didn't need one. I asked him if he'd do one even if he thought I didn't need one but I wanted one. He just stared at me, changed the subject and proceeded to try and sell me on hybrid clubs when I told him I didn't want all hybrids. When i started looking at the comparison between the Adams for ladies verses Top Flight he took off and disappeared. The next person who came to ask for help, literally smelled as though she'd messed her pants and I had to stand 5 feet away from her just to talk to her. She was meant to be "one of the managers" there but she didn't know where a scanner was. She didn't have a 7 hybrid for me to get a price on buying a single club and she seemed to walk in circles until I said to just price out the 6. She then started to wander around until I finally said I had to go. My husband and I called all back to ask if they could do better on their pricing for the set I decided on and they wouldn't even offer 10% off. We ended up buying a full set of the Adams Tight Lies 1312 for ladies from Amazon with free shipping for $94.00 less. If they'd even offered us $50 off at the time we'd have gone back to the store and paid for them today. I will NEVER step foot in that store again. They don't care. They don't know what customer services is and they have absolutely NO clue what they are doing. It's disgusting that someone would smell like that when serving customers. read more

I feel her frustration, because that's how my experience has been every time I've been in there.
