It started with a minor issue last Saturday when the person working had to ask me the color of the tie I was picking up. I had to text my son since he did the drop off. (Tip - have the person dropping off the clothes take a picture of the items in case a different person picks up the order.) When I got home, I noticed both suits had spots on them - see picture. I went back and left the pictured suit with them to re-clean, but couldn't leave the other one because my son needed it for an interview on Monday morning. With my son took the suit jacket out of the plastic Sunday evening he realized it was not his suit! When I brought the suit back on Monday morning at 9 o'clock, (which BTW, is late for a dry cleaner to open, and is not the time listed on Google), the woman insisted I had the correct suit because the numbers on the ticket matched. Luckily, this time I had pictures of the suit, including the brand label and went behind the counter myself to find the correct suit which I did in 30 seconds. I hope they can figure out who owns the blue Perry Ellis suit that was not mine. In the future, I will be marking my clothes when I drop them off at the new dry cleaner I will be using.

Finally August came along, and she said it would be ready in a week. I went by, and it was not ready. I called a couple weeks later, and she said it would be ready by Monday and that she promised. She also told me not to call her again. I went on the following Saturday, 5 days later than when she promised it to be ready, and it was not there. She said one more week. I went back a week later, and it still was not ready. I told her I wanted to take my dress and leave.. My dress wasn't even there. She told me if I wanted it today, I needed to drive to a different cleaners in Bartlett. My husband and I decided to drive to Bartlett because we were done dealing with this place. We got my dress back from the cleaners in Bartlett, and it was not boxed even though the fountain view lady said it was ready. The man in Bartlett was nice and understanding. He gave me my dress back for free but it was only cleaned not boxed. The day we also went to pick it up, we got to the cleaners at 9:30, and the store was closed. The hours said they opened at 9.

Over the past few months, I've tried to overlook how my years of loyalty were suddenly unfamiliar, that I had to provide my name/number, that my preferences needed to be restated, that longstanding operating methods had changed. I overlooked the change in service - but appreciated that I could now use a credit card. But then the cleaning chemicals changed; my clothes suddenly had a foul odor. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. Not even three hours go by that my dress has been dropped off, I receive a phone call from the business owners husband who asks if I was aware of black spots on my dress . To my surprise I answer no .... this dress is new and I have never worn it other than trying it on so I would have notice these "black spots " . He told me to come back and to look at at the spots before they start steaming it . So as he asked I went back to the cleaners. Once I got back to the cleaners the wife and business owner greeted me as she was the only person I physically saw today when dropping the dress off and coming back . She shows me the dress with not only one or two black spots , but multiple black spots on the front , back and side of the dress. At this point, it is obvious that the dress has been steamed . I asked her why she steamed it if there were spots on the dress , as I was asked to look at these spots prior to her starting to steam it. I asked to talk to her husband who at the time was not there to confirm what he had said. At this point I was extremely frustrated because I just purchased this dress and I only wanted it steamed and pressed . The wife and business owner told me that the dress came in damaged and that she was not at fault for the markings. She had seen the markings when she was steaming it . I explained to her that it was impossible that the dress was damaged prior to dropping it off, because it has never been worn. I would have asked for them to dry clean it if that was the case. I asked for her to pay for the dress because why should I leave this place of business with a damaged dress I had just purchased . She refused and said they've never had a problem before with being in business for 20 years. Eventually her husband came and he too denied their business was at fault for my damaged dress. To top this off the owner called the police on me. I understand things happen and people make mistakes, but to tell me my dress was already damaged prior to them steaming it and calling the police was uncalled for. I even have the ticket that shows no proof of them looking at it before when dropping it off saying it could have been damaged prior to arriving at this business .

I was 95% positive there and 100% positive now that I put it back because they are not only on my side but the top by my head. I would notice a hole the size of the largest one. And if it was there when I brought it in why didn't he call to see if I wanted it fixed? More money in his pocket. He did remove a stain on the inside but the top - you know the part people see - is basically just as dirty as before. He kept saying "you have to trust me you have to trust me." No I don't. And you shouldn't either.
