Over the past few months, I've tried to overlook how my years of loyalty were suddenly unfamiliar, that I had to provide my name/number, that my preferences needed to be restated, that longstanding operating methods had changed. I overlooked the change in service - but appreciated that I could now use a credit card. But then the cleaning chemicals changed; my clothes suddenly had a foul odor. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. Extremely unprofessional service and complete lack of responsibility…read more I had two very bad experiences with this dry cleaning. First, I brought an expensive dress (around $500). When I came to pick it up on the promised day, they could not find it. Staff searched everywhere -- clean items, dirty items, everything -- and the dress was completely missing. Only the next day I was informed that it was "found." Where it was and why it disappeared remains unclear. Because of this, I did not have my dress for an important event. Despite this serious issue, I gave them another chance -- which was a big mistake. I later brought two expensive white blazers (one ~$500, another ~$300). Both were returned ruined. * One blazer came back with multiple stains that were never there before and is now completely unwearable. * The belt from that blazer was also lost and only returned later after I came back again. * The second blazer (part of a matching set) came back yellow/ivory instead of white, making the set unusable. I received my items in worse condition than when I brought them in. When I pointed this out, staff denied responsibility and claimed the stains were already there, which is absolutely not true. The only "compensation" I received was a refund of the $5 cleaning fee -- for items worth over $800 total. If you care about your clothes, especially expensive ones, I strongly recommend staying away. A clean-looking location and decent Google rating do not reflect the actual quality or accountability of this business.
