I have never had fitted golf clubs. I used to just buy what was on sale from the large chain sporting goods retailer. I brought my existing irons and driver in for John to look at. Even before I swung a club he told me my driver shaft was too light and same for my irons. He then spent 45 minutes with me taking some measurements, and having me hit different irons and drivers into the simulator. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the experience was. He fitted me with a new set of irons and a new driver that reduced my ball spin and increased my distance. He never tried to up sell me and even told me to not buy the set with the 4 iron because I have my hybrid that will take its place. I am a customer for life and have been telling all my friends about John and his team. I don't even mind the 45 minute drive to get to the store. read more

I've never had such a poor, and rude shopping experience in my life. The other Yelper "Denise V." is spot on with their service. It is important to note that I arrived with intentions of trying out and quite possibly purchasing high end golf clubs that day (tax returns came back). When I arrived I walked immediately to the irons and was looking for the Callaway Razors. A couple of sales staff were busy with some businessesque guys and the other sales guys were perched by the counter, seemingly doing nothing. I was the only other person in the store left to be helped! After 10 minutes of standing there waiting for someone to acknowledge me, I decided to check out some putters, which I was also looking to buy that day. After that I returned to the irons section, again hoping they would see me but they just stood there. At one point one of the crabby douches that work there said to another guy "What is this kid doing here?", obviously referring to me. I might look young, but I'm 25. After that I just left. Little did they know, they lost out on over $1,000 of sales in clubs that day. I had to bite my tongue, but this review is what they deserve more than anything. read more

Professional they have on staff and it's the best set of lessons I've ever had. I went in today to purchase a golf cart that I had researched online. My salesman provided info on the product, & set it up, & test fit my golf bag, to make sure it would fit properly (internet info said that there may have been a fit issue with some stand up type bags). Business Model- Sell you slightly discounted used clubs vs marginally higher priced new clubs for increased profit margins while simultaneously wowing you with an A+ customer experience and niche services. I basically stumbled upon this place after a Dr's appointment. I don't live in the area but had just left the Dicks near NSMC when I decided to check this place out. Boy was I glad I did! It's an adult version of Toys R Us for golf! If your life revolves around golf like mine does you'll LOVE Golfers Warehouse! They literally have anything and everything related to golf! And they give lessons! The prices are about 20% higher then Dick's but their in house PGA Pro Russel explained to me that they will match Dicks, which is KEY. I had casually mentioned to an employee five minutes earlier, who appeared to be the manager, that the prices seemed higher then Dicks and he calmly said "oh yeah" Wrong answer. I also inquired about a price on a used club to gauge his response and see if their was any wiggle room. Nope. I won't bore you with what his responses should have been but Russel covered it quite professionally during our conversation later on in my visit. It seemed as though the regular sales associates milling around didn't take me serious enough as nobody approached me the entire time I was there and I was there for a while. I instigated both conversations. Who knows maybe they are a no hassle shop unlike their main competitor who hits you with their drones the moment you plant your feet. I actually prefer to be left alone however there is a fine balance between being made to feel important and like you don't exist that retailers that don't rely on A.I. need to find if they are going to survive the online onslaught and the fact their aging base is also retiring from the game all together. Being able to test my putter isn't going to keep me coming back but professional people like their golf pro who understand today's complex business environment and it's patrons will. P.S. I have been a more than satisfied customer there for many years. I get great service. I am a regular customer because of the service I get. Not only have I been serviced well, but anyone that I have sent there has been more than pleased with the service. The staff is knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. Decent place GREAT selection. WAY over priced. I've heard that they match Dick's but only on non sale/clearance regular priced items. This place is for people who haven't discovered the internet yet or for people like me who want to try out something before they order it online. Picked up a used Callaway sand wedge when I was there that was in average condition just because I felt obligated to buy something after trying out their putters for 45 minutes. When I checked the price online when I got home I found one for 70% less!! I did however have a nice conversation with the golf pro Randle. He seemed like a stand up guy. I think he may have been the general manager but I'm not sure. Overall I'd check the place out. I was thinking about adding a hybrid club to my golf bag and I decided to stop by Golfer's Warehouse in Danvers which is not too far from my home in Middleton. I went there to cut 1-inch and re-grip my putter. They seems to be clueless. I asked them to cut 1-inch and re-grip but he forgot to cut it before re-grip. So, I asked the idiot if you cut 1-inch and re-grip shouldn't the length go down by 1-inch.Then he tried to explain to me why the length didn't change after re-grip. I didn't want to waste my time any longer so I left. I spent over 2K in that store last few months for new clubs. Not going there any more. Don't want to deal with whack jobs with low quality customer service. I agree with Ross N's posting. Go to Dick's in Peabody. read more

Just left golfers warehouse and had the best experience. Brought my Adams driver in for repair as the head sounded hollow on contact. Matt checked the club and informed me that another customer had a similar problem last week. Matt offered to call Adams (Taylormade) before making the repair. If you're looking for help with your golf swing, Phil Moore (GW Danvers in house instructor) is who you need to see. I have been swinging a club on and off for about twenty five years. Like most players inconsistency was the most frustrating thing about my game. I might squeeze out a par or occasionally birdie on one hole, and then the next five where eights. I think my biggest problem was I didn't really know why I hit a good shot or why I hit a bad one. Over the years I picked up some mechanics of the swing such as hand positioning, slow back swing, don't try and kill it and your all arms, you need rotation. The thing is I really didn't understand these things individually or more importantly how to put them all together. And then I went to see Phil and it all a lot clearer. Immediately Phil was able identify some serious flaws in my swing and he got straight to work on them. For me his teaching approach feels more natural vs. analytical. He explains / demonstrates how the golf swing should be and through his video analysis he shows me where I need to improve. His approach to correcting my swing is sort of a step by step process, meaning that we will focus on a couple of fundamentals that usually will correct several other aspects of my swing at the same time. The best thing is that he demonstrates / applies practical application on getting my swing where it should be and then he runs me through drills naturally reinforces these principles of the swing. The end result is that I get a feel for what is right without over thinking the swing. This especially works well with younger players such as my son. I am not ready for the tour yet however, Phil gotten me to a point where I feel very confident while standing over the ball. My ball striking ability has greatly improved since I have started working with Phil. My inconsistency (meaning that I have been consistently making good contact with the ball) has been reduced as well. Now when I have a bad swing, I have instant feed back and Phil has provided me with the knowledge / skills to apply corrective action to ensure the next swing is correct. Some say that "any day on the golf course is better than a day at work". That may be true however; if you are not playing up to your potential it's a lot less enjoyable. Go see Phil and the game will be that much more enjoyable for you. read more
