Yet, it's already grubby. The signs above the work area are dirty, one is ripped, and one is stained and buckled from water. The floor is a mess. I went to order a small latte. The girl was making a smoothie looking thing for another customer. If she had been going any slower, I would have called 911. There was another man mopping the floor in the cafe where, it appeared, someone had dropped a coffee. The girl serving did not acknowledge my presence and took several minutes to make the smoothie. A line developed behind me. When she eventually served me, there was no apology for the delay. So, I ordered my coffee and walked away to await its arrival. The girl seems to have abandoned the manufacturing side of things and spent the next few minutes taking orders. I was about ready to give up and ask for a refund. But, at that same time, Joe Mop put his mop into a bucket, leaned it against a table, went into the serving area, and, shortly thereafter began to fill orders. He needed to ask me what I had ordered. I told him. He made a game attempt at making it...but, sadly he failed...miserably! The coffee was terrible. And, the one thing you can't afford to do when you have a coffee shop, is to make crap coffee. I have been to one other Kroger based Starbucks and it was equally awful. I like Starbucks stand-alone cafes, but their cafes in supermarkets are staffed by people who seem to lack training, have little regard for the brand, have no real understanding of hygiene, and little in the way of manners and service. Starbucks...protect your brand. Either train these people to address the above complaints, or shut the damned supermarket cafes down. It will protect you in the long run.
