Gustico has all the hearty Dominican staples- think: sancocho, stewed goat, stewed fish with coconut, chicharrones de cerdo (fried pork chunks), etc. The seafood though, isn't offered daily as menu might suggest as the restaurant may not have received their supply for the day. That was the case when I came here and was told they didn't receive the fish because of the rainstorm. I ordered yellow rice- that looked like white rice doused in yellow food coloring, a container of white rice, a small container of each of black and red beans. Both beans were tasty- but the thinly sliced celery in each threw me off since traditional Dominican cooking doesn't call for that and I also picked up baked chicken for hubs which he liked a lot. Tamarind and Passion fruit juices were the real thing- maybe way tooo sweet- but tasty. Don't pay any mind to their strip small location, come for the soul-soothing Dominican stews+other foods and warm service practically all year round.
