Once upon a time, I described K7 in Shawnee as a medium-sized liquor store. My how times have changed. The store had more than doubled in size and features countless wines in every price range, a bevy of microbrews (that's beer to all of you Bud Light drinkers), shelves chock-full of spirits and dozens of those cute little airplane-sized bottles you can shove in your pockets to prepare for your in-laws' mandatory Sunday dinners. Separate in check-out but kindred in spirit is K7's party shop, where you'll find a well-stocked cigar humidor, cigarettes and mixers galore. You'll also find everything from corkscrews to beer pong balls to keep the party rolling -- literally and figuratively. Have a liquor related question? Don't be shy. The helpful staff at K7 can tell you the difference between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and which tequilas make the best margaritas. Don't bother participating in one of their allocated sales events. Their operation favors the first 2-3 in line by having no limits and only having 2-3 of the highly sought after bottles. When you do get something, it's an overpriced "allocated" shelfie. read more

They have a really good selection and if you go on certain nights like Friday they have tastings. Last time I went they had whiskey tasting going on and that is a little bit to strong for me. If you are needing anything to go with your beverage of choice they have a mini mart next door. They are knowledgeable and have overall really good customer service. Wine is well organized on the right side of the store, alcohol in the middle, and beer on the back and left side, mostly in refrigerators. The staff is friendly, place is extremely clean, and the transaction was fast and simple. They have many lanes open so you never have to wait in line. Definitely recommend! I've had numerous negative experiences at this establishment and after today i will never go back. One time, I was waiting 2nd in line at the only register that was open at the time. Eventually a second cashier opened up a register as another customer had just walked up to it. The customer saw i was already in line at the first register and signaled for me to get in front of him and said "you were in a line first, go ahead in front of me" and the cashier proceeded to yell at me and say "Um, that gentleman was in line first, i'm not helping you, you need to get back in line sir." So i ended up getting back in line, waiting, and leaving pissed off. Today I was in there and went to check out. As I stood at the register while a few employees were huddled in a corner talking amongst themselves, an employee snapped at me and said "i don't know why you're waiting here for help, she can check you out over there" and pointed to a register at the very front of the store that didn't have a light on. When i walked up to be checked out, the cashier proceeded to get onto me and said in a rash tone, "yeah so just so you know, during the day this is the register you need to go to, i don't know why you would wait over there." ... sorry, i didn't know...??? Then instead of asking for my ID, the old RUDE lady got snippy and said "um yeah i'm going to need to see some ID" as i already had my debit card AND ID out waiting to give them to her. All she has to do was say "could i please see your ID?" but instead she was a complete A-hole and made me feel like an inconvenient criminal when i am well over the legal age to be purchasing from a liquor store. I've had a few other negative encounters here. They take no pride in customer service and need to get their act together. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. read more

Being a beer connoisseur, I was very pleased to see K7 recently expand their store. They have a much larger refrigerator now so many of my favorite beers are now cold when I want them. If I had one knock, it would be prices of some of the bombers or specialty 4 packs. They are a tad over priced. But, still very happy to have a store with a nice beer selection close by! read more

My go to liquor/beer/wine store. No matter when I visit there is always a friendly greeting. When I was looking for a local wine they didn't stock I spoke with the manager and the next time I stopped by there it was on the shelf. Very accommodating and reasonably priced. Also like the frequent sampling's they have. Even though I might not buy, it's nice to be able to sample because there is so much to choose from. Great job K-7! read more

I had a problem with a "Bota Box" box of wine that I bought at this place and when I went to resolve the issue with the manager, he was a complete asshole about it. When I asked to speak to the owner, he said he was the owner. Acted like I was trying to scam him out of $18. Total jack ass about it, I won't go there again and I will go out of my way to let everyone know that this place will treat you like shit if you happen to have an issue with something you purchase there. read more

Good selection at this place. They have tastings on certain nights and it's a nice set up. The mini mart next door is convenient. The staff here are knowledgable which is important to me so I don't spend the cash on something I wouldn't like. read more

Poor customer service on a bottle of wine that had "cork rot". Wouldn't exchange it for another brand because it was on a "close out" and said that there was nothing wrong with it, that 's what was unacceptable, to tell an unsatisfied customer that there was nothing wrong with it. In the end, he did exchange for the same brand, we'll see if it's drinkable. Handled it poorly. Red x is the best place to get wine. read more

This liquor store will charge more than they advertise!!! Be aware, they advertised a six pack of beer for 7.99 however when I went to the register they rang it up for 9.99. I said it was priced at 7.99 and the cashier stated he would not sell it to me for the advertised price, but he offered to take the sign down. what does that say? Their could be numerous people that dont look at the register and realize they are being charged more than the advertised price. This is called Bait and Switch, which is illegal. I stated it was illegal and the cashier said to call the owner. The owner would not hear my side of the story, which I would not have gone to the internet had he just taken some time to hear me out. However then I thought about all the other people they are taking advantage of, and thought it is best to at least inform others of this establishement.
