We have eaten here for 30 years. Always been very good. Lately the quality has been slipping. Las Saturday we ordered a steak calzone and chicken. souvlaki. The "steak" was chewy and tough. When I picked it up to eat it grease ran out the other end. A lot of grease. Didn't eat it after a few bites I gave it to my dog. The chicken dish includes a salad. It was missing the Feta cheese,the olives,the banana pepper and the lettuce was old(it was turning brown on the tips). Since Demetri left it has gone down hill slowly and ends here. One random night i knew we wanted pizza but as my husband recommends dominos or papa John's i told him i wanted something different. Well i came across this place on Yelp and i was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Calhoun, Ga. We each got our own personalized pizza + a salad for me. My husband got the buffalo chicken pizza and i had the sausage, pepperoni and pineapple. (Yes pineapple belongs on pizza) a small Italian restaurant we didn't know was minutes away from our home was now added to our "we must return" list. If you like spongy, conveyer belt pizza with low budget tasteless toppings, little sauce and "dairy" topping for cheese- this is your place. Dominos, Little Caesar's, Pappa John's and Pizza Hut have nothing to fear from this competitor. Owner calls his pizza "production" pizza. I found it to be a pretty poor example of pizza. Owner said he's been in business for 31 years. I don't know how. He's loud, bombastic and surly. I see several other reviews calling him out for being rude. He is a pretty rough dude. Don't patronize this place. Spend your $$ down the street- any street. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. My seven year old and I went to eat here because we wanted spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs in my dish were cold in the middle and the meat sauce was obviously days old and expired. The meatballs on my son's dish looked strange.... After cutting them open I found out that they were raw. I let the owner know about our issue and he said he would make us another and not to worry about it. When he brought back out our food it was just spaghetti and the worst looking meat sauce I have ever seen. At this point the owner was being extremely rude. He told us that if we wanted meatballs he was just going to put the same meatballs back on our plates. This place is dirty, the food is disgusting and the owner is an absolute pig. The owners of this Southern chain of Italian restaurants have always been amiable to my family, so I cannot rate them particularly low in that respect. This particularly location in Calhoun is friendly, spacious, and easy to access. The service is also rather fast, so there is no complaint there. My major criticism is of the greasiness of all of the food which I have tried. I'm not sure if it is part of the chain "recipe," but even my grilled items taste deep fried, and my deep fried items taste downright like-a-heart-attack. I do think this chain would do much better going back to its non-american roots, serving sauteed vegetables or even baked bread with dishes rather than french fries... The food is tasty, but I don't think it's great Italian or Greek-style cuisine. read more

For years been getting Greek Salad, Lasagna & Meatballs from this location....always good...last fall got all of the above & the Meatballs shrunk & the Lasagna not as good...so tonight placed this order for carryout plus additional dinners & salads...upon pickup asked manager if he had a box I could carry it all in & he said no...as if a restaurant doesn't have a box...got the food home & the salad dressing lids weren't on tight and two of them came off and dressing all over everything....also price much higher than expected...when I asked the price for dinners are now $10.97 each but the menu says $8.99 each...and the meatballs...omg just hamburger rolled in a ball & baked...no salt no other ingredients nothing...I called the manager/owner & of course he had nothing to say....really?? Went today to meet my daughter for lunch. The proprietor was smug and happy to say they did not serve bruschetta. When I mentioned another location that did, he said it was his wife's location and his was much better. Oh did he lie. Regulars had their food delivered to the table. We were waved over to pick up our food from the counter. Two salads, no dressing. So, I had to return to the counter to request dressing. The proprietor provided it without a word and did not offer to help me carry the 2 containers of dressing and 3 containers of ketchup plus utensils back to my table. Afterward, he joined another party of regulars at their table. The lettuce in the Greek salad was straight iceberg. If I want to have good food, I will go to Gondolier's in Rome, GA - his wife's restaurant. Although he said his location was better, he lied. read more

My friend thought I was over exaggerating and called and he was rude to her. She asked a question and he told her "well you can figure it out and call me back." Nope.
