You know what, I'm not huge on writing reviews, however, Jeff was the point person I initially contacted, about 4 months ago, he gave me a quote on a huge sectional to remove, his quote was 30% less then 4 other providers, still couldn't afford it being unemployed, offered me an additional discount of 15% but I just couldn't swing it even then. Texted him out of the blue 4 months later, not only did he remember me but still honored the original price with the discount. Had two guys out the very next day, both of whom were very careful with not damaging anything and even kept their masks on even after I suggested they could remove them due to the heavy lifting, I mean you can't beat that kind of service. Not to mention he traveled all the way north to Wauconda Illinois, these guys are the best. FYI estimates in order, 1-800-junk more then double 450.00 JJ Junk removal 410.00 Northwest Junk Removal 395.00 My Junk Removed 350.00 but couldn't swear to it because according to him the sectional looked massive in the picture. Gone Guys, 250.00 explained I was unemployed and Jeff was like ok 200.00 and yes it was a massive sectional but still honored the price. I did tip both guys 20.00 each but they were extremely nice, extremely careful since I have a newer home. With an impending cross-country move and little desire to haul large furniture with me (or have strangers enter my home to purchase said furniture and then both struggle with getting it out to their vehicle), I decided to have a hauling service take these items away. I had reached out to another service about its ability to help on a particular date and received assurances that there was availability. When I went to confirm the time a few days prior, that availability suddenly disappeared. Stress and anxiety immediately kicked in. Thankfully, I reached out to Gone Guys. Jeff was very responsive and worked with my schedule. He provided a quote based on a list of furniture items and their dimensions. He also sent a confirmation the day prior to the scheduled pick-up, which was very appreciated. On the service date, his crew showed up about 45 mins early (awesome!). Orrissio and Conrad were great. They were professional, fast, and friendly. I was very satisfied with their service. I can't recommend Gone Guys enough. Gone Guys in Glenview, Illinois- I am eternally grateful for Gone Guys, we were towards the end of our time line to move, needed last minute removal of 'stuffs' that we decided not to take with us, wanted to support local businesses. When I needed to get several items out of my studio apt, I chose Gone Guys over the others for one specific reason: They work to re-use things that still have decent life in them. Which was important to me because one item I had was a loveseat, the fabric (faux leather) of which had deteriorated so badly, but I couldn't afford to get it re-upholstered, and couldn't find a school for upholstering to take it as a student project. My loveseat was otherwise aesthetically pleasing and structurally solid. I didn't want it to go into a landfill. Gone Guys works with a couple of area (their Glenview area) furniture refinishers / upholsterers and planned on taking the loveseat to a business that would renew it and then could be resold. So the business model Gone Guys uses is what sold them to me. They work to re-use, recycle and resell. These guys are great. I asked them to move / dispose of a lot of things (mainly dishes and furniture) from a condominium. The service of scheduling an appointment, getting an estimate and getting a date were done quickly, with great responsiveness and multi-faceted depending on our preference (text, email and phone). The company came on time, were very professional, courteous and very patient with us. They were able to do what I hired them to do efficiently. Further, they stayed within the estimate they gave me, which was all done via photos sent via email, which was very convenient. I had some additional work for them, but they were honest and humble enough to not take it on because it was quite complex, but we discussed that and knew about that ahead of the scheduled date. After the INCREDIBLE experience my family had with Jeff + The Gone Guys crew, we would NEVER use anyone else. In fact, we live in an entirely different state, and I remember thinking (multiple times), I wish I could pay Gone Guys to travel south and help us with our two houses here. I would give 1 million stars if we could! The Gone Guys were an absolute life saver! We were moving out of the state and with the chaos and emotion of finally leaving my childhood home, I realized at the 11th hour that we had a bunch of junk that needed to be hauled out. In sheer desperation, we Googled for last-minute local services which were scarce in the junk-removal industry bc of the current (2021) real estate upheaval. Then we found Gone Guys. Gone Guys cleared our home of 35 years of all the accumulated stuff with the house left clean for its new owners. The estimate was very reasonable and because our friends had taken some items before Gone Guys arrived the final price was adjusted down. A crew of 6 turned up at the agreed time and took just under 6 hours to clean out a large house including 3-car garage and basement. Very efficient and each room was swept clean after all content was cleared. I would highly recommend Gone Guys to anyone who needs to partially or wholly clear a house. He also offered a variety of pickup dates & was extremely flexible to send a truck when I had forgotten one item in my garage. It's nearly impossible to find furniture pick up these days but Jeff and his amazing crew were recommend to me by my real estate agent and I wish I knew about them sooner. These guys were terrific!! I recently moved and downsized personally so I was familiar with the cost of renting a couple of dumpsters and all the hours it took to empty the house full of junk. Also all the hours and trips donating reusable items. This company will recycle and donate all reusable items. They will properly dispose of chemicals. Their cost was under what I expected, they were on time, workers were very pleasant and they finished clearing out 63 years worth of stuff in 8 hours!! So worth the cost. read more
