Gong Cha is a well-established boba institution and I was happy to find there was one located near my area. I came during the holiday season where they had a promotion with their snowman cups. I ordered the pearl milk tea with reduced sweetness. The drink and the boba were both on point with the quality I've come to expect from them. Outside of that, the staff was really nice and friendly and made my drink quickly. The store itself has some indoor seating for you to sit at. My friend got a drink, but that one was good but this milk tea, which was plain and simple should've been easy for them to make was super water down. We were really excited to try this place as I've had it originally in Taiwan a few times in LA. It was always delicious and fresh. So we decided so we to try this location in Santa Ana because it's close by. What a major disappointment. We ordered the wintermelon and oolong tea with boba. I ordered the Creme Brulee Matcha Milk Tea from their Moustache Series because I wanted to play it safe - and never have I had such an incredible quality milk tea. Every one I've had has been overly milky with not enough flavor. This was the opposite, tasted more like a matcha latte if anything. Service was warm and helpful as well. It's national boba day so was coming here for the pin! Came in 15 minutes past opening and it was pretty crowded. Given the circumstances, it made sense for the crowd and the wait time, but it was kind of too long. I think there were only 2 people working at the time, but they were still really friendly given the workload. They have an ordering kiosk to be more efficient. Everyone was given an expected 10 minute wait; we waited for about 20 minutes (for 3 drinks). Besides that, our drinks were great! My QQ Passionfruit green tea came with coconut jelly and boba. The location has a new manager who was very kind while greeting us and gave us a chance to try out their mochi nuggets (which were great!).
