They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. They were there within 2 days of hire and completed the work within 2 days. We told them not to paint but Alex threw in paint for just the cost of materials, which was nice. Although, I wish I had some say on the color since they didn't ask beforehand and I would have loved a natural stain instead. The crew was very kind, they'd even bring my packages into the garage for me and make sure to close the garage door when they were done. The work is sturdy, done right, and I feel confident will last. My only point of advice is to just be more mindful of the garden. I had just purchased and planted 6 new plants and had a succulent ground cover I had been working to grow out for years. It was all so trampled I thought maybe they had dug it out at first. It would have been nice to get warning so I could dig it up myself (since it was fresh planted) or for them to step around it. I thought the estimate was fair and appropriate for the cost of the materials, the demo, and the labor. A lot of the other contractors were giving me ridiculously low bids, which I knew were shady and they hadn't measured the area. They came within a few days in same day. I had a new, completely rebuilt dock, which is fabulous. They kept the area clean while they were working, and I barely knew they were there, totally respectful. I am so happy to have my dock back so that I can play on the lake.

I added a picture for reference. We didn't have any special requests for the new deck so it was a standard deck replacement project. Estimates: Dmitriy came out soon after we contacted Open Space Design. He had good suggestions on how to tweak the layout of the new deck to move the stairs to a better place. The estimate provided was right around what we expected to pay. We got other estimates but the other decking companies we tried didn't really listen to our requests for simplicity, and as such, their estimates were much higher. Build: It was about a month or so from estimate to build which was quick. Jose and his crew were great. From soup to nuts, I think they completed the project in about a week. The weather was typical for Seattle this time of year, sunny one minute and pouring the next, but they kept on going all day long regardless. I couldn't be happier with the look and quality of the new deck. You can tell when people are experts in their craft. If I ever need a new deck, I will be calling Dmitriy again.

I also needed the width of the gate widened because originally they made the opening too narrow, so they were able to widen the opening before the rest of the fence was installed. I appreciate them checking with me halfway through the project. A few weeks ago one of the posts was failing I put in a warranty claim. They came out quickly and replaced it. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite from start to finish. Our scheduled appointment time came and went without any communication from the company. We ultimately had to make multiple calls and send multiple texts just to determine whether our appointment was still happening. After being told the appointment would need to be rescheduled, we continued trying to get answers and eventually heard from Jared, who informed us he was driving from Maple Valley and would be coming to our appointment. The estimate presentation itself had some positives. We appreciated being able to see the fence design and pricing breakdown on the iPad in real time, which helped us better understand the project and costs. However, the biggest issue arose when we later realized we had apparently signed a contract and authorized a $6,000 deposit, despite repeatedly and very clearly communicating that we were still gathering estimates from multiple contractors and were not prepared to make a decision that day. At no point did we believe we were entering into a binding agreement. We believed we were reviewing an estimate and discussing options. When we requested that the contract be canceled, a discount was immediately offered in an apparent effort to keep the sale. We also found it concerning that after a discount was discussed, the revised quote still reflected the original pricing. What stood out most throughout this process was how often we felt we had to advocate for ourselves. We had to chase down communication regarding the appointment, question what we had signed, request cancellation, and specifically ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and refund. At nearly every step, it felt like the burden was on us to get clear answers. After this experience, we met with another fencing company whose representative had previously worked for Cool Cat Fence. During our conversation, he stated that many of the company's sales and business tactics were very deliberate, very intentional, and specifically designed to pressure customers into making decisions on the spot. He explained that he ultimately chose to leave because he personally did not feel comfortable with the tactics being used and did not want to continue being associated with that approach. After our own experience, that information was difficult to ignore. We were also surprised to find reviews from customers alleging that the company offered incentives, discounts, or other compensation in exchange for removing or changing negative reviews. Prospective customers should take the time to read through reviews carefully and draw their own conclusions. I also sent a detailed email directly to management outlining our concerns in the hope that the feedback would help improve the customer experience for future customers. Despite receiving the manager's email address directly and sending that feedback, I never received any response. The contract was ultimately canceled and our deposit was refunded, which was the outcome we had requested immediately after we realized Jared was trying to take advantage of us. The entire experience left us frustrated, anxious, and upset about what had happened. Do not believe all these 5 star reviews. Based on our experience, we do not believe this company can be trusted.
