Positive: Salon is clean and well lit. Negative: won't be back. I was double booked, my appointment was rushed. I had mid-back hair length and the cut was so rushed that I was "done" in 20min. Haircut was done on dry hair, too free style with no structure and no styling was done. Ask the stylist if they have experience with your specific type of hair and volume, otherwise, it can be worst than a supercut experience. If they seem overwhelmed with what to do in the beginning, that should be a sign to get out of the chair. read more

This was prolly one of the best pedicures I've ever had. Kerrie took her time...massaged my legs with sea salt and made sure my feet were soft after she scrubbed them. I was late to the appt but she still said we had enough time for a pedicure and I didn't feel rushed through the whole pedicure. I also appreciated how careful she was making sure my nails looked perfect as she applied the nail polish. Will definitely return!!! read more

I only come here for my pedicures. The staff is great and the salon is clean. Every time I get my pedicure done, there are clients that come from all around the Bay Area. The clients have moved out of town but continue to come back due to the care this staff gives. Great ladies and they do a great job. read more

Don't go zipping down 4th or you will miss this place! It's right past the 7-Eleven, and I'm not sure which parking area is designated for their customers. My hubby and I went here for pedicures before our Hawaii honeymoon (can't have crusty feet when out and about!). There are only two pedicure stations, as this is mostly a hair salon (that still only has 3 or 4 chairs). We went on a Monday, and there was only one lady working the entire place. No worries, they told me this ahead of time, when I made our appointments, so we were prepared for one of us to have to wait while she worked on the other. The chairs were comfortable, and it was nice that there was no one but us in the salon. Pricing was standard ($22 - $25) and she seemed to really take her time to do a good job on each of us. I'm only giving 3 stars because I haven't been back since. But maybe that's just because I'm not very loyal when it comes to having pedicures done. I definitely wouldn't balk at coming here again though. read more

I have been meaning to try Beauty Ala Mode for ages since my friend recommended to me last year. I took my daughter after school on a Friday afternoon for mom-daughter girl time treat. We both got pedicures and she had a manicure as well (nail/cuticle biter so I thought this would help encourage her to stop... so far so good!) They did beautiful flowers on my daughters toes. The owner was very friendly and greeted us promptly. Both ladies who did our respective pedicures were very nice and did great jobs. I come here once a month for waxing with Thuy (Karen). I first had Amy Nguyen, but I only see Thuy now, since she is usually the one on when I make appointments on my days off from work. I must say that the price for my full face (sideburns, chin, lip, and eyebrows) is completely affordable, considering most other places charge $45 and over. Not only is the price great, the work is great! Thuy is sweet, and social. She is very thorough with her work, and with no extra charge, she offered to take care of the blackheads on my nose by waxing them out. It works! She didn't even charge me for it. The place is cute, and small, but they are very accommodating for the most part. I don't worry about what the place looks like, and it isn't like some kind of wack shop either. It's nicely decorated inside, even if it isn't a large space, everything is in place. They actually have a real waxing room with an esthetician's chair. I even had my boyfriend try shaping his eyebrows with Thuy, and she charged us only $10. I always will come back to her, now that I found this place. It is located next to the 7-Eleven on Fourth Street. Their sign isn't too big, so you could miss it, but use 7-Eleven as your landmark. It is to the left of it. read more

Amy is that holy grail of stylists: talented, entertaining, smart, and affordable. I started seeing her last year at her salon, and followed her over here to her section. She does a fantastic job cutting my hair, and the conversation is just as good as the styling. I have a very full head of stick-straight hair, and Amy always manages to give it shaped body and texture. She even saw me through an inch-long pixie cut to shoulder-length hair without an awkward phase - pretty impressive. The salon itself is also gorgeous, with amazing interior design and lots of light. Check these ladies out, you won't be disappointed! Also, her business is considered of one salon that been in town for the longest time and built a strong trust on customers, so everyone!! check this place out at least one time. I have searched high and low for a place where I could get a relaxing, high quality pedicure and manicure that would leave my hands and feet looking great for a reasonable price...well guess what? I found it. My husband and I went here for pedicures and were greeted politely by staff. The place itself is clean, cute and quaint. There are two pedi chairs that actually give good massages and get into your muscles. Yay! The pedicures were done thoroughly, so that all dead skin was removed, feet and legs were massaged and nails were cleaned and painted. This is not like other places where they go simply go through the routine and scrub your feet for a few seconds only to miss Removing it. Our feet were feeling soft and looking nice(so fresh and so clean). My gel manicure was done perfectly as well. The best part was for both, the gel mani. and pedi., it was $50. Will definitely be making this a regular monthly place to visit. read more

I went to this salon because my 12 year old daughter got bullied in middle school for her blue hair, and she wanted to go back to her brown hair. We stopped in at 4:30PM and Kari said she could fit us in by 5:00. so we came back and not only did she have to try several steps to try and get the blue to lift out to apply brown again, but she stayed an hour past close to make sure she got a good result. She also offered my daughter and I a bag of sncks from trader joes and a banana, since it was going into dinner hour. Really beyond nice and thoughtful. Will go back again for sure. read more
