Have walked by this one several times while in the galleria, and with the weather that day, we decided to go someplace near by. The service and coffe were both ok, however I found the veg roaster to be way to watery add to that the so-so Huevos we did not realy enjoy breakfast hee. I do not see use going back. read more

I should be giving this place two stars, but the server was so nice, and I can appreciate a place that serves organic options if you want them. That being said, we normally eat breakfast at OPH across the street, but the wait was 45 minutes...and I'm 9 mos pregnant and starving. My husband and I finally decided to try Good Earth after hearing mixed reviews. It took about 10 minutes for us just to get waters. It took another 30 just to get our food which was lukewarm. I got a short stack(2) of their whole grain pancakes and a side of 2 organic scrambled eggs. My husband got an omelette and potatoes which were not even crispy, just oily and barely warm. I married a man who loves his breakfast. He gave me a look that I knew meant disappointment. :-( What I got were two nearly burnt pancakes and what looked like one sad little watered down scrambled organic egg. I nearly sent it back because I eat organic eggs all the time and these were pale....flavorless. The opposite of what they should be. I didn't, but at that point decided we weren't ever coming back because of the lack of timeliness just to get something so simple....and to be so dissatisfied. There's a lot of hype around this place, fancy classical music playing in the background, fancy bread baskets and lots of old rich people taking a break from their shopping at Ethan Allen to dine here. I genuinely feel disappointed and ripped off by this place.....should have just waited at the pancake house where service rocks, hashbrowns are crispy, and two eggs scrambled looks like two eggs scrambled. read more

I've been coming to this place for over 10 years and ( with the exception of a bad year in 2013- Jan 2014 ) the food and the service has been great. In all of those 10 years, I have never written a review until now. That is because you diners must be told about the Bow Tie Pasta with Summer vegetables. I was pretty impressed with Good Earth. The environment is quite nice. Though we chose indoor versus outdoor due to already being overheated, the outdoor seating area looked just as comfortable- would be great on a more appropriate day. The only complaint of the environment was the overly formal music playing. The violin soundtrack didn't seem to suit the lunch time vibe. The menu offered a nice variety, but if you don't totally buy into the whole organic , lots of vegetables, and pure foods aspect, you may feel limited on your options. (I myself don't love everything topped with vegetables and the like, but found a few things I would have tried!) I ordered the turkey burger with the greens for a side. I enjoyed my lunch and the meal was very fresh, but was not blown out of the water. The spicy mustard the menu implied was slightly lacking in the flavor and I probably would have enjoyed the burger more without it. Overall the food is fresh, the environment is nice, and the service was friendly- yet I probably would not become a regular. read more

We made reservations via Open Table for Saturday, January 31. So, there was no wait when we arrived to the restaurant (despite other's sitting and waiting for a table). This was a big plus for me - since I am impatient. Our server for the evening (Theodore, if our receipt was accurate) was amazing. He was very kind, attentive, and never intruded during our conversations. Our food left a lot to be desired, though. Here's a rundown: 1. Their bread basket that's brought out initially is great; Many different types of breads along with a small bowl of hummus. 2. For an appetizer I got the Orange Pomegranate Mimosa, and my husband got a glass of Malbec. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. The drinks were spot on, but not complicated to begin with. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious - served hot, and very flavorful. The pita that was served with it was also very good, and had great texture. 3. For entrees I ordered the Mediterranean Greek Salad, and my husband got their current "special" of Flank Steak. His dish was very well presented, the steak was cooked to his liking, but he wasn't a big fan of the seasoning used on his broccoli rabe (neither of us are sure what it was). My Greek Salad was not a salad at all. It was literally a head of lettuce placed on my plate with the olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese in separate little piles surrounding it. I found this very cumbersome and frustrating. I hate to slice the lettuce myself, and toss the salad on my plate while trying not to make a mess or a fool out of myself. Definitely not fun for me! 4. For dessert we ordered two of the current "specials" the Meyers Lemon Cheesecake and the Date and Toffee cake to go. They were packaged nicely along with whipped cream, and we enjoyed them at home while watching a movie. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend the cheesecake. It was not over powering and had a great texture. Overall, the food was good - just not served or presented well. I would return to this restaurant in the future since we had such good service, but just make note to ask our server to chop/toss the salad before serving. Great ambience, loved the interior. Went there during busy lunch hour on a Wed. Very good service. But the server didn't tell me Tofu would cost extra. I don't mind paying it, but it's courtesy to tell. I still tipped 20%. When I took a box to-go. Didn't offer a bag or let me know they care for the Good Earth (The box was plastic and I would have preferred a paper bag). Food OK: Didn't like the food much. I am vegetarian, there are modest veggie options. I tried their only default veggie pasta, Pappardelle Pasta. It was bit insipid. Slightly pricey for the amount and quality of food. I may not go there again, unless I am in a mood to 'try' something slightly pricey. Esp. when there are better veggie restaurants for this price. I definitely liked the concept, the brand, ambience and presentation. TIPS:: 1) The parking is a hassle at noon esp. on a wintry day 2) Had to wait 10 minutes, but there were empty tables there. Looks like the hotel has the policy not to put a single guest on a table of four. 3) There are two unisex bathrooms and there was line two cooks were in the line. Nothing to write home about I'm afraid. My sisters who live in the Minneapolis area recommended this place for brunch and I'm afraid I was quite disappointed. I got the grilled salmon with poached eggs... Problem was the eggs we're really poached... They were overcooked and I could smell and taste the vinegar, which you shouldn't on a good poached egg. The vegetables and hash weren't seasoned well or at all and were overcooked. I like the crunch of fresh vegetables and felt cheated. The salmon however was cooked to perfection with the moisture preserved. In terms of ambiance and service... All were quite good. But I've definitely had better brunch food in Minneapolis. read more

Good earth is a place where you have a chance to put actual good tasting food and good for you food in your body. This place has monthly specials on the menus that change with the season. The burgers are good. The food always seems intriguing with brining in wholesome flavors. The soups are always good in the winter as well. read more

I got the thai chicken wrap (I think that's what is was called). It was very tasty, just the right amount of spice for me. I felt like it was a little greasy though. My friend got the turkey club sandwich. It looked amazing. She did ask for it without lettuce and it came with lettuce. This was my first experience at Good Earth and I left unimpressed. I ordered the "Mediterranean Greek Salad," which, from the description, sounded amazing. The salad was essentially 5 whole romaine leaves that looked like they had been ripped off a head of romaine and thrown on the plate. There was about a teaspoon of very dry feta on the romaine, and there was a light drizzle of olive oil that was supposedly a Greek vinaigrette -- absolutely no flavor. In addition, this "salad" had a number of additions -- there was maybe two tablespoons of each of the following: Kalamata olives, cucumbers, couscous based tabouli, and hummus, along with a few pieces of pita bread. The olives were pitted and brined, which is to be expected from many American restaurants. They were actually the best part of the "salad." The cucumbers were bland. The tabouli was disgusting -- I'd even go as far as saying it's not truly tabouli, but rather couscous with a little bit of parsley and onion thrown in -- hardly a true tabouli. The hummus was the second worst I've ever had -- it tasted like armpit paste. I didn't try anything else, but I was certainly not impressed with this "salad." I would definitely steer clear of this if not the entire restaurant. read more

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if it was possible. The restaurant staff and management far exceeded my expectations. I ordered an item, which the restaurant unfortunately did not have in stock. About five minutes after ordering Patrick, the manager, came up to the table and apologized that they hadn't realized the item was not available. He offered to not only give my boyfriend and I our full meal free, but offered us each a free dessert as well. Simply stating they didn't have the item would have sufficed for me, but I was very impressed with how well Nicole, our waitress and Patrick handled the situation. Over priced awful experience. We sat outside and the chairs where so uncomfortable but the server was the worst. I was there with a friend and we both wanted to catch up quick before we looked at our menus. The server came by and acted annoyed that we haven't even looked at the menu. I did modify my salad, Instead of getting a cashew chicken salad I asked her for grilled chicken. It also took 45 min for the kitchen to make two salads and the server forgot my friends soup. When I got the bill they charged me extra for the chicken so it turned out to be 17 chicken salad. If I would have know that I would have ordered the crab salad! I have been to Good Earth twice now and after ordering their signature Good Earth Cashew Chicken salad I will definitely go back again. I don't usually order salads at restaurants because I don't feel full afterwards, and I'm a carnivore, but after this one I left stuffed and contented. Good Earth's ingredients in all of their foods are natural, but don't break the bank, and they're not pretentious like some organic fare that you see around the cities. Good Earth is one of my favorite stand-by places in the cities. I prefer their breakfast menu as opposed to lunch/dinner. I would pass on the egg-white omelette and go for the 10-grain hot cakes. Pair it with one of their amazing juice combos (i like watermelon wahoo) and bottomless coffee. I love sitting outside during the summer, although some tables have a direct view of the dumpsters. Extremely disappointing! First time ever being here and the service was absolutely horrible. First to watch the guy put a label on the Apple in the shake for the lady in front of me. Then I ask for a protein shake and the guy tells me he is all out of protein. So then I ask for a different shake and he comes back and tells me they have no yogurt and asked if he can put in ice cream. Sad. We've always enjoyed eating at Good Earth but our breakfast this morning was the worst. Service was terrible -- we finally had to ask for a server. Our experience went downhill when the food arrived. Absolutely tasteless. The mushroom omelet had no seasoning -- I added salt 3 times and it was still tasteless -- and was actually just a pile of soggy unseasoned mushrooms in flavorless eggs. The huevos rancheros came with a cold tortilla right out of the fridge and not warmed. Not one person asked us how we enjoyed our meal. Guessing they didn't really want to know. read more

Let's start with the pricing for drinks... $4.50 for brewed tea and $3.75 for a cup of coffee (that I had to ask for a refill for)? Really? I can go to any of the twin cities coffee shop and get a better value. Two of us ordered a cup of asparagus soup, very tasty for $4.75 each (reasonable). Then we shared an entree - thinking that for $16.95, one chicken curry would be a good amount of food (we weren't overly hungry for lunch). Well, the chicken curry arrived with a small cup of rice and the portion of curry would hardly feed a single person. The sauce was thin and not much flavor; I think there were about six or eight cubes of chicken. The vegetables were lacking. Again, this entree was for $16.95. The total bill came to $37.32. Nothing I hate more is to pay good money for bad, overprice food and drinks. Definitely will not go back as there are so many great restaurants in the Twin Cities area (even though this was the Galleria location - expectations were that this would be good.) read more
