Jacob is the most honest, efficient, and truthful locksmith I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I had some work done on my 2004 Isuzu Rodeo, specifically changing the battery and starter. Unfortunately, afterward, the vehicle would not start or make any sound when I turned the key. After troubleshooting with my family, we concluded that I needed my key reprogrammed. I called the top three locksmiths locally in Virginia Beach but was baffled by the lack of callbacks and empty promises. One very popular company did call back but had no idea what type of key I had. After these three disastrous attempts, and hearing that it might be my engine (which they stated without even looking at my vehicle), I resorted to searching for more local locksmiths. Fortunately, I came across GOOD LOCK LLC, and Jacob, the owner, answered the phone personally--no leaving messages. He immediately identified my key as a Honda key and assured me he could program it. He promised to be there within an hour, called to confirm he was on the way, and called again from my driveway. After performing his tests and analysis, Jacob concluded that it was not the key. Though not a mechanic, he suggested it might be a fuse issue and recommended I take it to a shop. When I asked him what I owed, he said nothing. I was blown away; most locksmiths charge for coming out even if they do nothing. It turned out to be a fuse issue, which was inexpensive to fix. I called Jacob on a Sunday morning, my key car fob lost and I locked out. Over the phone he explained that he might not have a fob for my make/model but he would come out and see if what he had would work. Jacob didn't have the exact fob but worked diligently for over two hours trying the fobs he had, explaining what he was doing at each step. He wrote down and gave me the exact fob model he needed, I picked up two models from the dealer on Monday and Jacob programmed both of them at a VERY discounted price. For example, the emergency key blade that fits inside the fob costs $45.32 each from the dealer. Jacob informed me that, at most, he pays just a few dollars for them. I returned them both. They showed up to replace the ignition on my '94 Ford Ranger. The truck is so old, he couldn't get the parts apart to change them. He tried numerous things and worked for about an hour and a half. After I told him not to worry about it, he worked for 30 more minute. I tired up a good part of his morning, and he DID NOT CHARGE ME.
