They were assigned to us by american home shield to have our water heater replaced. They promptly inspected the heater and recommended replacement. Subsequently, they provided an excessive quote, prompting AHS to request payment from us out of pocket. They claimed that our heater mount was not "up to code." We contacted local plumbers, who informed us that our heater's mount complies with code and does not require upgrades. We reached out to Good Neighbor Plumbing, but they failed to respond. We subsequently contacted AHS for assistance, but they also failed to respond. For nearly a month, neither we nor AHS received any communication. Finally, their representative contacted me, about the status of our request and whether we still required assistance. By that time, we had already had the work completed by a local vendor. I strongly advise against seeking services from Good Neighbor Plumbing due to their extreme unreliability. read more

I have AHS as my appliance insurance. This person submitted an estimate as my property needing all new pipes when the problem I needed fixed was a simple leak. Of course AHS turned down my request as he put it in as needing new pipe in the entire house. I got the leak and defective pipe replaced out of pocket for under 500.00 including parts and labor. Good neighbor plumbing is a waste of time of u need something small done. Waste of time and trade fee which I'm being reimbursed for. Believe the bad reviews and notice the pattern of blaming tile grout! Read this whole review if you come here on your own or AHS tries to send this vendor to your home and consider reading about your rights on the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs website about actions you can take to protect yourself. It's hard to know where to start with this review. The technician sent out was texting in his phone, talking to people on his phone and at times shopping online on his phone while he was supposed to be out at my property diagnosing a leak. The technician had to power my tools at one point to continue evaluating the leak. This company was sent out by AHS, a home warranty company, and I had hoped that AHS had a good vetting program to make sure their vendors were honest and reliable, but this vendor had very little knowledge or experience. The technician came out and said the problem for the leak was bad grout. The grout doesn't produce water and I told him that a shower valves entire purpose is to cut off the flow of water when you want and divert it to the shower head or tub spigot. He still insisted that the grout was causing the leak... as if the leaky faucet wasn't a concern, but could the water be routed to inside the tub with a better sealing/grouting job then everything would be fine. I hope everyone reading this realizes the absurdity of this stance for a water leak. Per this company your faucet leaking would be acceptable. The technician also cut a large hole out of the ceiling below the leak, this is fine and the proper thing to do to evaluate the leak, but the technician stated this would be fixed by AHS. Except when the technician reported to AHS that there was no leaky faucet and only a grout problem and their "professional" recommendation was only re-grouting was needed. The hole the plumbing technician cut was also denied to be fixed. I showed the technician the exact part that needed to be replaced because another plumber had some out to help shut off the water at the source to prevent further drywall damage. The technician saw some faulty o-rings, but still claimed the real problem was the grout. The technician had to borrow a tool to even look at the shower valve. If AHS wants to send this vendor out you should do your best to decline this vendor. I would never hire this company on my own and thought it may be fine through AHS, but I was very wrong. They have no internet in properly diagnosing a problem and seem to come up with creative and absurd causes for problems that follow to reasonable logic . After reading some other reviews this tactic of blaming the grout seems a habit with this company. read more

I am extremely happy with the work performed by Nathan & Hebron from "Good Neighbor Plumbing" -- which was assigned to me by the American Home Shield (a home warranty company) to fix two bathroom problems: Water leaked under the bathroom sink and toilet leak. Both technicians were very professional, reliable and prompt in repairing the problems. They arrived on time at scheduled appt and immediately assessed the problems, bought the appropriate parts from a nearby Ace hardware and repaired the problems the same day. Nathan mentioned that he also has experience with Carrier Infinity heater & air conditioning -- which I plan to request for his service next year to do annual checkup of the heater & air conditioner. read more

Unprofessional and unreliable service. Jun was recommended, but a two day job took two months. Showed up late on several occasions, hot and cold were connected in reverse on two faucets. Several joints leaked and multiple revisits and failed attempts to repair. They take shortcuts, rather than getting it done right. A total waste of my time. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY Good Neighbor was assigned by my homeowners warranty for two faulty toilets, one ran and the other sometimes wouldn't refill after being flushed. The plumber came, made repairs, and said to call if I had further problems. I paid and he cashed the $65 payment. Two days later, the toilet that ran began not to refill. The other toilet started having issues less than 2 weeks later. I don't know if he used old parts for the repair, or maybe he didn't do anything! He never answers his phone, I left messages, texted, the HO warranty company called and emailed, but he never responded again. read more

I had an emergency situation with the kitchen faucet leaking under the sink. Using the Yelp feature to request quotes from multiple plumbers. Good Neighbor Plumbers were the first to respond, within ten minutes. Waiting for the plumber for an appointment took another 45 minutes. They were also the only option available same day. There was one plumber who suggested getting a new faucet without even coming on site to inspect. Jun and another colleague arrived within the time estimated. He gave me a reasonable price and proceeded to replace the piece of metal pipe with a plastic one, which prove to be more durable. They also added sealant around the sink. It took about an hour to diagnose and repair. They ensured they wore booties upon entering the house. They cleaned up the sink and the under sink cabinet area. I was very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them. read more

Exact same story as everyone else. Home warranty (AHS) sent them out, the plumber came out for assessment but didn't do anything stating that "it needed to be approved by insurance" and left. Ever since they have been completely unresponsive to phone calls and voicemails. I had to have AHS transfer the contract to another plumber. How is this place still in business? Update: So it would appear that if they don't want to do a job, they save your number as "do not answer" since the 12+ times I called they never answered or returned voicemails, but they always answered AHS when they called. They came to the house and could not fix my faucet because they did not have the right tool and never came back, They tried to fix a shower leak. Claimed to order the part, Weeks later after multiple calls to follow-up that could not even go to voicemail because their voice box is always full. They will not return calls, would not answer to texts, then finally when I managed to get through, they scheduled an appointment, then never showed up or called. I won't speak to the company at large, but I will review the technician who identified himself as "June." We had a work order placed through our home warranty for an obvious plumbing leak from the upstairs bathrooms. There was secondary damage through the ceiling and leakage down to our kitchen nook. June came out and determined he needed to carve out holes in the ceiling to locate the source of the leak, which was perfectly reasonable. He ran the two baths upstairs and sure enough, water eventually started pouring out. there was also clear, long-standing water damage in the drywall and rusting of pipes. However, because June could not pinpoint the precise location of the leak, he attributed it to grout and tiling issues in the shower, and promptly left, claiming it was not a plumbing issue. Needless to say, within a day, we received a denial letter (email) from the home warranty company. Two days later, when there was more obvious leakage after bathing our kid in the other bath, we paid to have another plumber come out who within 4 minutes clearly diagnosed this as a plumbing issue. In fact, he was stunned another plumber would attribute that degree of leakage to a 'very small grout or tile' issue, which is what June claimed was the problem. June had no interest in properly diagnosing the problem. He unscrewed our main shower drain, and put the screws somewhere we couldn't find them (or took the 4 little screws with him?), so the drain cover is just sitting there unfixed. He was in and out with the haste of a bank robber. The lack of professionalism or even interest in feigning professionalism was striking. read more

Too expensive and they will add on additional work to rack up the fees. I had to call another plumbing company to compare prices and see if it was necessary to do all the work on the proposal. Even called the City to inquire about permits and so on. For example the pan required underneath the water heater costs like $10 and they were charging me over $50. Way marked up! read more

Had such a weird and bad experience with Good neighbor plumbing.. they came to my house and said their snake can't get my clog out and they have to cut the wall. They have to check with insurance first. I was told two days max.. 8 days later after calling everyday for an update, I kept being told the technician will call you back. After I got the insurance company involved they said they spoke to them, but insurance said they never reached out. So after I call back the plumbers the receptionist says he's calling now again. I wait 3 more days to see what happened. The plumbers tell me sorry insurance won't cover a roof snake.. the plumbers never discussed that with me. Which shows they are disorganized and liars. Tell me one thing and then tell insurance something else so it's not covered so I have to pay out of pocket.. shame on them! I got another plumber out and in 15 min he was able to blast through the clog. Watch out and don't be taken for a fool from this company. read more

Instead, Good Neighbor plumbing arrived in the window they provided, did a thorough examination of the issue with no charge to do so, and provided a fair, reasonable quote. (This after one company was a no show, and the second, large chain company arrived four hours past the initial window provided.) I have an emergency leak in the crawl space of my house. My insurance referred a plumbing company who was irresponsible and didn't show up on the scheduled date. This company was sent to us via our home warranty and turned out to be complete scam artists. First guy who came was super junior (and said so himself) and spoke absolutely NO english or anything. He simply took photos, said "boss" and left. Then after calling, a new guy came. He seemed very nice at first but didn't even look at the leak. Before looking at the problem he declared that the whole wall and possibly and entire new shower including tiles etc need to be ripped. He gave the phone number of a friend who quoted 10k to just demo the bathroom and won't give us any further quote. Following up with them to send a report to home warranty company was a pain and after several follow ups they wrote a report that was completely false blaming us home owners for breaking our own shower. Which home owner goes and breaks their shower to have a leak and flooding. It seems they didn't want to do the job or something. Meanwhile after wasting several days and trying to work with them, we went ahead and got another plumber who within one minute opened the shower valve and put a new gasket to stop the leak instantly. A plumber from this company came to my home and said I needed to replace the water heater because it was over 20 years old. He said a new one would be here within 48 hours. I called on day 2, day 3, and day 4 and there was NO response. I called and I left text messages. Other texts to this number had been responded to. I just called American Home Shield and they said Good Neighbor Plumbing told them several days ago that they could not complete the service. That is fine, but at least have the courtesy to respond to my calls/texts and tell me that so I could get the process of moving to the next plumber going. Now it is Saturday and I have to wait until Monday. If they had told me when they knew, several days ago, I could have moved this along and not extended having to shower in cold water by another week or more. It would have taken 30 seconds to respond to my text. This is neither neighborly nor good behavior. read more
