The 65 year old galvanized water main coming into our house has been flaking off alarmingly large flakes of rust. We figured it would be best to replace it now than to wait for it to rupture. When I called around, I asked for the two things specifically: 1. I want this job to be permitted. 2. I want to replace the old galvanized with 1" type K copper, which is almost 50% thicker than standard type L - overkill for sure. I got a couple quotes, and Alejandro's was very competitive. The kicker was that he is also licensed and insured, beating out the price for some of the less legitimate plumbers on Yelp. Most plumbers I spoke tried to talk me out of the 1" type K. Alejandro did mention that type L was perfectly fine, but did not give me any resistance on the type K. While I'm sure most of the licensed plumbers will do permit work, most try to talk me out of it ("Ah, you don't need it!" or "This is simple, we do everything to code!"). With Alejandro, he said no problem. Easy as that! Once the permit was ready, we scheduled the work to be done two days later. He came with another guy (didn't catch his name!) and they went at it. The job took about five hours, with a small lunch break. The job involved digging 25' of hard clay 18" down, removing the old crusty pipe, and running pipe under one sidewalk. They kept everything clean, stacking the clay soil onto tarps, and sweeping up after themselves. The next day, we passed the intermediate inspection with no problems. Alejandro and his partner buried the pipe, caulked the penetration to the house, and hosed off all the dirt on our walkways. Final inspections were the next day, and we passed with no issues. Overall, Alejandro did an awesome job. He was communicative, straightforward, patient, and totally honest. He came on time on all occasions (initial estimate, the main work, and the post inspection work), and always replied to my texts. The permit process was a huge pain, but there were no complaints from him. I could tell he really cared about his work. I try to be handy around the house and do my own work, but I definitely know who to call in the future when a job is over my head! read more

Alejandro was the first to respond to my request to set up a water line for our newly bought refrigerator. He was also the first to come home for inspection and quoted a fair price, so we did not bother to check with other plumbers. He completed the task of setting up the water line the next day, but unfortunately our garbage disposal had to be replaced. He patiently waited for us to get the garage disposal from the store and made sure everything was working as expected. 4/23/2019 Update We had Alejandro come back out to really make our garage sink/washing machine setup what we really want as a total end state. After opening up the wall we were able to see how everything was routed, which gave us an opportunity to incorporate the washing machine output directly into the wall/sewer line rather than the garage sink like it had been routed. Now it not only looks really elegant and modern, it is something we don't need to think about doing as a future project. After his initial work, I identified two other faucet connections in the backyard that also needed updating. One was facing the wrong way, as well as having the other nonstandard end for garden hose connections. He changed it out completely and oriented it which makes it more functional. He did great work and was very accommodating for our total vision. He gave us the new quote, came on time, and did the entire scope. Alex responded to my message immediately in the early evening and was able to arrive from Fremont to Santa Clara in 30 minutes. Our kitchen sink had a corroded nipple and could not be repaired without major demo. He recommended replacing the wall faucet with a standard 3 hole faucet. Peques plumbing is great !!! Alejandro is an awesome guy. Intially we contacted him for gas pipe line installation for our kitchen. His response was very prompt and he showed up on time. But later it was identified there is an emergency with our main water supply. Our cold water supply line was leaking and we had puddles of water in our basement. He gave us a reasonable quote for copper plumbing. He along with another person started the work next day. They worked dedicatedly from morning 9:00 am. He went above and beyond and stredtched till 8:00 pm in the night and fixed most of the plumbing on day one. They again came next day at 9:00 am sharp and completed the work by late afternoon. He fixed all of the galvanised plumbing to copper. Also made sure that no water is leaking and pressure is fine thru out the house. He has cut open the sheet rock in garage and did a good job in fixing it up with new sheet rock. Overall, they did a gr8 job. From now on Peques plumbing will be my go to for any plumbing issues.
