WHERE'S THE BEEF We tried the meat special for two, but the quality was disappointing overall. One of the cuts was so tough it was barely chewable. The pork belly was decent, but that's a cheaper cut that's hard to ruin. We also added the premium beef for an extra $40, couldn't believe how little beef was on the plate, it had good flavor but was sliced paper-thin, so it shriveled up immediately on the grill. The corn cheese for example comes in a tiny sample size cup with 0 seasoning or sauce. It's just corn and shredded cheese, unlike every other Korean BBQ I've ever had. The meats are paper thin and they looked at us like we were insane when we asked if they had bulgogi or spicy pork. They had neither! My husband ordered fish cake and they brought him one singular FROZEN cube on a plate. Is this a joke? Everything was so bland and inedible. Bathrooms are also very clean and accessible. Cons: The servings of each meat are very very small (yes we were warned yet still shocked) all cuts are thin no matter the meat & each plate/order comes with only 2-3 slices. The wait time is extremely long for meats but the sides come faster; it was almost to the point where we felt as if we were being forced to fill up on rice rather than meats. A busy spot! We had a reservation but it still had to wait a bit to be acknowledged at the front and for them to clear our table. It seems like they also have a VIP room too for people to rent/reserve. The menu was extensive - you have to put your order through a website too. The internet reception is not great in the restaurant so it took us a while to be able to put through our order, but once that was done it didn't take too long for things to start coming out. This place looks pretty trendy and got busy really quickly! I appreciate the ease of making a reservation via Yelp. The parking lot underneath can be pretty tight and there's no obvious signage on how to get to the restaurant from underneath. We got the black pepper steak and the pork belly and the portion size is pretty small (luckily we had a big lunch so weren't crazy hungry to begin with). The quality of the meat was good and the server did come around to help guide us the best way to cook the pork belly and cut it up for us. The banchan consisted mainly of kimchi (spicier than most places), potato, bean sprouts and a side salad. They refilled the banchan up once but that's it. I love it a good banchan spread so was a little disappointed that that was it. We also got the tteokbokki & sausage skewer which my littles ate up in an instant along with jja jang myun. Other people got inverted soju cocktails which looked so good (~$15). And if you were hungry, your bill could rack up very easily. I also appreciated the fact that you can order your food via a QR code so that it was very convenient. Another level would be if we could pay for the meal on our phone as well. When we were exiting, we asked where the entrance to the parking garage was and was instructed to just walk down the ramp. Tugging two kids in tow and walking down the parking ramp was definitely not the safest of options. The prices here are reasonable (our bill was around $35-$40 per person) and the ambience and service are solid, however, food quality was mediocre. Our server gave us instructions on how to cook the meats and our dishes came out quick. Where points were deducted is the quality of the food. The meats were a bit tough and chewy compared to other places, but the real issue was the soybean soup. It was EXTREMELY salty (perhaps too heavy on the doojeon) and we could not drink the soup as is. Once we were done with the rice, we left the remainder of the soup untouched.
