    Avocado dip is a must
    Joyce L.

I have been returning to cactus club for their Happy hour and late night menu. They have lots of food and drinks to choose from. This time I went during their late night menu. Restaurant 's vibe is perfect for a relaxing night. Food I ordered : the avocado dip, this is my favorite. The dip is so fresh and has a hint of spice from the pico de gallo. Chips are so crispy but I wish I can get 2 extra chips to finish off the dip. I wanted to order the tuna temaki but they were all out for the night so I ordered the Prawn crunchy roll. The prawn added a nice crunch, and the drizzle of the sriracha mayo sauce gave it just the right kick. Drinks, their happy hour beer is a good deal for $5

Came here with some friends for happy hour and was not disappointed! Quite a bit of selection to choose from, both food and drinks. The Bellini was great at $8. The tuna temaki was $9 and the steak frites was $27. What's nice is that you get to have a sample of a variety of food to try. Those who like food with a teeny-tiny kick, you'll like the prawn crunch roll or tuna temaki. Service was courteous and friendly. The place gets really busy during happy hour.

Went for lunch today when it opened at 11:30. We had a couple hours in there and it was enough time to eat and then we went into the mall to continue spending time together with our friends. Server was very friendly and efficient. Good was delicious. I had the green goddess salad which was very good. Others had the chicken sandwich, bolognese pasta and the poke bowl. It was a nice atmosphere- quiet enough to talk and be heard by the others but busy enough to enjoy hearing the other diners enjoying themselves.

bacon cheese burger, sirloin steak, crab cake frites

Cactus Club location in Richmond Centre. It's next to the main entrance facing no. 3 road, although the restaurant has its own outside entrance and doesn't open into the mall. Been in this location for a few years, after moving down from its old location further up No. 3 road near Lansdowne. Good-sized restaurant with chic modern decor. The space is divided into the dining room to the right and lounge/bar to the left. This location is pretty busy on most days, and was so on the weekend night we went. We did make reservation ahead of time so didn't have to wait, but there were people waiting for tables. They have a good selection of cocktails and drinks. The food menu has a bit of everything, sort of the modern Canadian/American western food with some items from other cuisines like Mexican and Japanese. We got the cheddar bacon burger, crab cake frites, and sirloin steak. Food arrived reasonably quickly. The burger patty is the smashburger style that is a bit more crispy. Burger was decent was nice sauce, bun and veggies. Came with fries which were okay but nothing to write home about. The crab cakes were tasty and tasted like they had crab (rather than just flour), but the two pieces were pretty small. They did give a lot of fries (again, mediocre) and kale salad which was good. As for the sirloin, it's chewy as you expect from a sirloin even at medium. Came with asparagus and mash potatoes which were alright. Total was around $120 including tax and tips. Nice restaurant and service was good as usual for a Cactus Club. Food is only okay.

Food and service are consistently good but it's expensive for what it is. Still a bit hungry after my fish tacos. They were tasty though!

Delicious food and it's a fusion type as well. The interior was nice and clean. Many seating areas. The service was good too as the food came out pretty fast. I got the scallop raviolis which I absolutely LOVED. The calamari was also pretty good. The drinks were unique and yummy! I really enjoyed my sorbet type of drink. Everything was delicious overall and it was pretty crowded when we went but got seated pretty quick as well. The dessert was delicious too and was a great dish to finish off on.

I recently tried their kale salad and it was so fresh. Also ordered a crab cake for a starter and there is only a thin piece with loads of greens on top. I probably would choose truffle fries instead or something more hearty. We ordered the New York Cheesecake which was one of my faves. I liked sitting in the dining area since it wasn't too loud. I appreciate the service as our server was very accommodating and pleasant. The cocktails menu is quite extensive but I enjoyed the virgin caesar! I look forward to coming back here for happy hour.

The quality is always consistent, so my friends like to come here, especially for late night happy hour. They used to have better pricing for happy hour, but that's inflation for you!

    Salmon Aburi Roll

After picking up my friends from the airport, we decided to grab some lunch in Richmond and were recommended to check out Cactus Club Cafe. Now, Cactus Club is a restaurant chain, but we enjoyed it so much that we ended up eating at another location in Downtown Vancouver too. This Richmond spot though, that's where it was really at - the service was top-notch and it was the perfect start to our trip. I went with the Tuna Stack and the Salmon Aburi Roll, and let me tell you, that was a perfect pairing. Our server gave us some awesome local recommendations. Thanks to her tips, we had an absolute blast exploring Yaletown. This Cactus Club location totally set the bar high for the rest of our foodie adventures during the visit. I hope to see Cactus Club Cafe open up in the United States! It has a high end but cool vibe that's perfect for those who want to get dinner and drinks while listening to some fun "Lo-Fi House" remixes of popular 2000's songs. I absolutely loved it!

Came back again as a traditional meal before heading to the airport. Their menu never tires us. Although choices are not the most spectacular, Michelin-famed creations, Cactus Club got various selections that's pleasing to the palate. This time, Spaghetti Portofino stood out. Maybe a disappointingly unauthentic Italian experience the night before somewhere else proved this Spaghetti Portofino dish more worthy of being Italian. My Lemongrass Noodle Salad was interesting also although the cold noodle hardened. Maybe the traditional vermicelli would have been more appropriate.

My first experience at a Cactus Club was here (I'm from the States haha) and it was so fun. I came here with one other friend and we got a booth in the corner, but I loved the spot. We came during HH so the lights were dim and it was lively but because of that, we really only tried their HH menu. All of their drinks are delicious, but if I had to recommend one, try their bellini (especially if you like sweet alcoholic drinks). Their truffle fries are also a staple and so delicious and nice to snack on while drinking. Service is a bit slow, but they're super nice! Ever since, I've gone to a number of other locations and everything is alway pretty much the same!

    Falafel Bowl. YUM.

What can I say, I love Cactus club. It's like the costco for restaurants... they always want to make it right and has options of both healthy and not so. My go to: Falafel bowls, blacken chicken.

For dinner we shared a diavola pizza and smoked salmon parpadelle. The pizza was good but the crust was soggy. The salmon parpadelle was good but I think it would have been better with another pasta - spaghetti, linguine or fettucine as the pasta could not be twirled with a fork and spoon and had to be cut up. The service was excellent. When our server Malaka heard that we were coming in from Abbotsford she said that she would give us the "best seat in the restaurant". When we opted to sit on the patio she gave us a complimentary tiramisu as a thank you. It was such a kind gesture. It was a nice relaxing evening and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This location is inside the CF Richmond Center mall. My party of 4 was able to get seated immediately on a Saturday around 12:45pm. Once seated, there will be a paper where you can individually mark your order at each person's seat. I opted to get the 6 hand roll set along with the salmon aburi oshi. The salmon oshi was very meh IMO, but some others in my party liked it. It was kind of tasteless to me, and the servers suggested not having it with soy sauce, but my friends said it actually tasted better with soy sauce. As for the hand rolls, they were pretty good; my favorites were the toro and the truffle lobster, which is more unique and not something I usually see at other hand roll bars. Service was generally quite good, with our waters and ginger being refilled. We were also offered an explanation of the menu when we were seated as it was our first time dining here. However I feel like the wait time between rolls was a bit of a let down. Similar to some other hand roll bars I've been to, it seems like the order in which parties were served was kind of random. For example, other parties would get 2-3 hand rolls in a row before we got one. Also, even within my party, 2 people got 2 hand rolls in a row before I even got one. It was a bit strange and I wish the service was a bit more balanced. Pricing was also on the higher side - the hand rolls aren't super big so even a 6 set hand roll ($39) didn't leave me feeling completely full.
