Mediocre food, gimmicky setup Came here with a friend who's craving skewers. Food is okay, nothing exceptional. Very typical selections, Some of the skewer portions are leaning on the small side. We had to fill up by ordering fried rice. Environment is okay, but not likely gonna return. Food 6, Service 8, Ambiance 7, value 6

A very interesting experience and I'm glad I went but probably will not go again. As others have mentioned, it is HOT sitting in front of the grill. I truly underestimated the heat and you really will sweat if you sit too close. The other complaint is just that everything is so slow. This really isn't the restaurant's fault since cooking the meat is kind of the point, but it still feels agonizingly slow waiting for the first bite and then again on our second order. Perhaps this is actually why the place is usually full (because people end up staying for so long). The food itself was quite good. Nothing special but definitely good tasting skewers. Beer tower was nice too since there were multiple sizes. The servers are somewhat attentive. Sometimes they're super on top of things and will come move your skewers to the warm zone when they're done cooking but other times it's super difficult to flag them down. Overall still worth experiencing, but definitely could have been better.

This place allow customers to cook the skewers in the rotating heat grill in the centre of the table. Therefore everything is served uncooked and fresh. The waitress comes around often to check the food and cook it for you as the night goes on. The spices they use are very authentic. Perhaps the best skewer place in Vancouver Highly recommend if you want some authentic Chinese skewers

Loved our experience here. YES it is quite warm inside, but what do you expect when you're grilling over a gas grill? Great options for skewers ranging from lamb to pork to beef along with kidney and chicken hearts plus some veggies and bread. A few of the skewer options do come out already cooked for you like the kidney to ensure appropriate cook time. The concept is awesome - the skewers are placed on the rack and continually rotate. The servers let you know how long to wait. But they also come around quite often and help take things off when they notice they're done. There is a rack above the heat to keep cooked skewers while you eat. You also get three different kinds of sauce/spices to dip your skewers in. Loved the convenient tiny fork to pull off the meat from the skewer easily. The service was excellent - they noticed I was pregnant and gave me a pillow to put behind my back. It was always pretty full but they do keep a list and call you when your table is ready. Would be great with a bunch of friends too - they have table tappers for beer!

A fun experience! Been wanting to try a restaurant where skewers rotate and cook on a grill in front of you. My group actually was planning to go to a restaurant down the block but it was full so we stumbled upon here. It was about a 30 min wait for our group of 7. The main items we ordered were the lamb, pork belly, chicken gizzard for the grill. The fried rice was really good and went well with the meat. It was also a good portion. My friend really enjoyed their bread and toasting it over the grill. The meat was all good quality but we felt that the portions were a bit small for the price. In total, we spent around $350 and we didnt feel super full. The food was tasty and a fun experience but we felt like we could eat more.

The restaurant's concept of "rotating skewers" seemed really interesting so I decided to go. I got the lamb/beef/asparagus with enoki mushrooms/pork belly. Overall, it seems that the meat was marinated in the same sauce, which I found to be quite sweet. The meat quality was okay but I had the same sweetness in every bite which I found overpowering. I did not enjoy the sauce that they used to marinate the meat... personally I prefer Happy Tree House skewers compared to here (in terms of taste). The interior was clean, simple, and nice. The servers were very fast to give you the skewers and to clean up. !!!! Be careful because it gets very hot since you are sitting right in front of the rotating grill. My face seemed like it was getting cooked alongside the meat. You aren't able to adjust the heat, and the temperature is quite high since you are cooking the raw meat. It takes approx. 10 mins to cook the meat skewers.

Food quality is not good, we ordered the lamb skewers, the meat is dark, but the server(the one with red hair) is not changing for us. We also ordered the Napa and enoki mushrooms but both of them come with a lot vermicelli. I'm not sure whether they marinated the meat, they all taste no flavored, no enough salt, only cumin and dry chili powder.

Outdoor seating on a nice day so nice, indoor seating is a bit loud and kind of crowded, the patio seating is nice mix of both worlds. We sat on the covered patio and had a good time (a bit spider webby though). We ordered the wings, a cornbread (it's a muffin), the milltown burger and the moroccan lamb burger. The wings, in the hot flavor. Typical hot wings with buffalo sauce. Not spicy, very vinegary and pungent. Nice size, very crispy. Fair price for the amount you get. Really good overall. Cornbread (muffin). Really good. Kind of an odd thing to have as an appetizer, but so good actually with the sweetened butter, both were so good. Milltown burger. Not sure if we ordered it correctly but it's just a very plain burger no condiments or cheese (not sure if these were options, we didn't ask and weren't asked). Cooked very nicely. Otherwise a pretty run of the mill burger. Fries and tartar sauce were really good. The Moroccan lamb burger, nicely cooked, heavy on the sumac a little greasy. Not tons of lamb flavor. Not bad at all. The halloumi didn't have much of a taste maybe it was me? Who knows but it paired nicely with the beet and arugula salad. The salad was very very good. Price wise, very fair I feel, 67 usd 93 CAD for 2 apps and 2 entrees? Staff were very accommodating as well even with a very full restaurant. Nice people nice experience. Would recommend if you have the patience to travel to the location.

Situated on the Fraser River, next to the docks, the environment is relatively quiet with river views. Unlike restaurants in bustling commercial areas, it feels like a hidden gem on the riverbank, with a more welcoming and inviting atmosphere than typical bars or restaurants. On a sunny day, dining outdoors is even more comfortable and pleasant. There are designated bicycle parking spaces in front of the restaurant.

I had the Thai cashew chicken as it is one of my favourite dishes. It was very good and the right size as an appetizer. The down fall was the cashews were finely chop which I was not expecting. I wanted them not to be finely chopped but that is a personal preference. When my meal came and I asked for chop sticks which were brought to me right away. The second dish ordered was the cashew lettuce wraps. Very good but again the cashews were finely chopped. The next dish was the mango chicken. It was flavourful and presented nicely. It came with red beets which was not our taste and not expected. The last dish was the avocado chicken Cobb salad. There was plenty and had everything in it that a Cobb salad has and it was very good also. The place was clean and fresh looking. The restaurant dining area is fairly typical looking - similar to Cactus Club, Joey's and Browns. Nice enough and well kept, but nothing outstanding. We tried the following items from the Happy Hour menu: - Smashed Avocado Dip: OK. The dip itself was much spicier than expected, so my wife couldn't eat it. The tortilla chips were good, but found the taro chips not so good. - Miso Tuna Crispy Rice: Good. My favourite dishes of the night. Like a regular sushi, but using crispy rice gives it nicer texture and flavour. - Steak Frites: OK. Steak was the right doneness, but not the best quality. Fries were average, and greens were limp. Service was OK. Our server did the minimum, and nothing more. A lot of the staff seemed to be chatting among themselves, instead of providing better attention to their customers. It took awhile to get plate cleared and get our bill. Overall it was OK. We went for Happy Hour to get better value, and we got that. I wouldn't have been very happy if we got the same food at full price.
