MINE.

Let me tell you what I didn't expect. Cajun food in St. George, Vermont. Okay not just Cajun food but pretty great Cajun food that isn't trying too hard and is served up by a staff of local youth who stay chipper and polite even as slammed as I saw them get both busy nights I was there. So far I've had the shrimp po'boy and the mufaletta, both of which were awesome. The mufaletta is ginormous, served on a traditional sesame bun and made two generous meals, during which I said "mmm, ummm, mm" a lot. The small size po'boy was also generous, which makes it a good deal at ten bucks. Fantastic shrimp, great aioli and toasted bread that was good -- maybe this is made from the pizza dough? -- though not the traditional baguette, and I'm a messy eater so there was a bit of a structural problem. Looking forward to trying the étouffée and the Cajun Mac n cheese. The honey cake was super. I may or may not have eaten my body weight in macarons. Don't judge me. I hear they also serve pizza and this is the town's local pizza joint. Lots of people came in to pick up their Friday night pies while I sat in the homey dining room and had my Cajun food. Pfft. Pizza. Whatever.

Portobello goat cheese sandwich

This is a simple place with a counter to order and a handful of tables to sit at. We were staying nearby so I stopped in for lunch. Pretty large sandwich menu. I ordered the portobello goat cheese sandwich. The bread was a bit over cooked and hard like a biscuit. But the flavors were good.

Greek Pizza

Outstanding in every aspect! We ordered the Greek pizza and it was out of this world. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the establishment. The manager Greg provided exceptional service. We will be back to try more items on the extensive menu.

Small eating area.

We actually drove by this place and missed the sign. Easy to do. Plus. The parking is in the back so it's not like you'll see cars parked outside. We had asked some locals where we should get lunch and they all agreed this is the place. This place is small but full of local charm. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I saw they had etouffe and I just couldn't pass it. It was good and hearty but I wanted more crawfish meat. It had good spice level to it -- definitely not bland which I was happy about. My boys ordered the pizza. Best pizza from my boys perspective! The thin crust pizza was crunchy and crispy. They were thrilled. I had to take a taste and if i was a local, I'd order the pizza often!

Literally my favorite pizza in VT. It's always perfect. Pesto dippers are also a must.

Terrible service considering the place was empty. I ordered at the register and was told to sit in…read morethe dining room and it would be brought to me. 3 people working yet the wait was going on 20 minutes when I went back up to the register. The cashier and the 'cook' were putting the sandwich on a plate when they saw me. They both glared at me for daring to do this. Instead of bringing the sandwich to me the cashier wanted to know what I wanted. I should have said 'my sandwich.' i Just asked if it was ready. She then asked if I wanted something else, like I had no business there. I said no and took the sandwich. I ordered a BLT, which was barely toasted, and it tasted like a lettuce and tomato sandwich. When I opened it I found what amounted to 2 strips of the thinnest, dry, broken up slices of bacon imaginable. The cup of cheddar soup was tiny. I was still hungry 30 minutes after I left and got some fast food. They probably ate most of what was supposed to go in the sandwich. Disgusted by the nasty attitude and RIP OFF of $15.00. I could have gotten a nice meal for that amount at the nearby Texas Roadhouse. A couple days later I called to complain and the Gardeners Supply manager wanted to field the call even though they don't manage the cafe, saying the manager was a 'close friend' of hers and she would relay my complaint. When I explained what happened her response was she would let him know. I asked if that was it and she said yes. It wasn't until I challenged that did she take my name and number. Both places will be sunk before too long, especially now that Gardens Alive bought out Gardeners. The buyer for GS must have changed because it's all mediocre goods now. Don't waste your time and money.
