good times has excellent service ! when i came in i was a little skeptical of their selections, because they were not researched prior to visiting. i was warmly welcomed and directed to a booth. the server expeditiously brought out the water, and i'm grateful because it's been million degrees outside. of course prior to consuming anything, a lady must wash her hands ! once i discovered the bathroom, i also discovered that there is only one single restroom... for the size of the establishment, i think there should be at least two restrooms !! but alas, you get what you get, and you don't get upset. c'est la vie. after sorting through my emotional state because of the lack of amenities-- i proceeded to go over the menu. after reading through the menu, i was appalled to find out that they are selling pancakes for 17$ !!!!!!! just plain simple buttermilk pancakes w/ berries on the side. i promised myself i would not gon i landed on the breakfast tacos w/ avocado and a side of home fries + a cappuccino. the cappuccino was more of a tiny latte, but still great and the tacos were surprisingly great!! the service was great would absolutely recommend! bonné appétit read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Good Times. I made a reservation for six people at 1:45 p.m., and when we arrived, I let the staff know we had a reservation. We were told it would take a while for the food to come out, which was fine because we were prepared to sit down and eat. However, another staff member then told us they would not be able to serve us because most of the workers were leaving at 2:00 p.m., leaving only one person in the kitchen. When I asked what time the restaurant closed, I was told 4:00 p.m. If the restaurant closes at 4:00 p.m. and reservations are being accepted, customers should still be served, especially when the reservation was already on the schedule. We ended up leaving without being seated or served. This was a very poor experience and extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. read more

Such a good time was had at Good Times! The name of this place was certainly well thought out! One of my friends mentioned this was on his brunch list of places to go, so away we went! He made a resy for us, and when they arrived were seated promptly! I, of course, had a hard time finding the place with my maps, so it took me a second to find a place! Nite to yall, parking is right under the huge graffiti wall! When I entered, was greeted immediately by some smiling faces, I saw my group and made my way through the filled restaurant. As I walked by, I could see all the delicious food, I knew it would be hard to decide. They had some specials painted on the window so I was excited to hear about those. One being a Philly cheesesteak! It felt like that kind of day since it was cold out. Something you could just wrap up to in warmth and cheesy goodness!! The others opted for more traditional items, and everything looked amazing! I got to try some of the French toast and it was drool!! The pancakes were great too, nice and fluffy, but I'm. French toast girlie! We had an amazing server, Natalie, who took such great care of us! She made some great recommendations to the menu and told us the star dishes. She didn't disappoint on any of them. The Philly was so so good, I had them switch it to the sourdough and I'm so glad I did! 5 stars for our amazing server Natalie! Came here for the first time with my crew on Saturday for brunch. My friend made a resy. But when we arrived at 11:30a and there were plenty of open tables. Nice they have indoor/outdoor seating. If it was a nice day, it would have been nice to sit outside, but it was too chilly. They had a jamming play list, loved it. And eventually it got more crowded, but not packed. It was an interesting mix of people. Parking- they give you info on parking when you make the resy. There is street parking out front but the sign said no parking Mon-Sat. So that was out. I circled the block a few times looking for some other street parking and didn't find any 2 or 3 blocks out. So the email said they have a paid parking lot behind the place, and a valet lot as well. But I didn't see anything about paying with the lot behind it, so we all parked there. Glsd it was free! Hate paying to park. It's a small ish lot, and it got full quick. Shared lot with the other businesses. So could be difficult. We saw some cars having to just wait until someone left to get a spot. Service- Natalie was our server and she was great from start to finish. Gave us much needed info. She was young, but could tell experienced. She easily won us over. I had wanted to order the lemon ricotta & blueberry pancakes, but sadly they had sold out. We were there a couple hours and they never kicked us out, which is kind. So no apparent time limit for the tables. Food- so I did the Farmers Breakfast-$16 eggs ( I got sunnyside) hash (I almost asked to sub this out too, but probably would have been another upcharge). I got turkey sausage, and turns out that's a $2 upcharge I didn't know. I also added a single pancake for $5 which I was aware about. So total my brunch was $23, with tip. Food was simple diner food. This morning, we flew to Houston & we had brunch here on the way to the hotel. I think it's a little over priced then the menu didn't have much to choose from. So, we got the steak , egg, & potatoes. After driving around aimlessly on a Sunday trying to find the shortest line we ended up here. The three of had two farmers breakfast w/ French toast and a a sweet crepe. Everything was surprisingly seasoned. Needed no salt for pepper die eggs potatoes doe anything. The French toast was made with regular bread which im a fan of. Has cream and some fruit. Food came out hot so service was good. I had to send my over medium eggs back because they came hard fried and then only one came back over medium, one still hard fried so I'm not sure that cook that day understood, but there was no problem send them the back the fist time. Husband got the standard assortment -eggs, toast, sausage. I got one of their flatbreads (I was ravenous and didn't take a photo, sorry). I remember it being good, not amazing though. Butttt the shaken espresso drink they have is very good. Would get that again! My friend got their chicken club sandwich and liked it. Not sure how this place has a 4 star rating. Must be paying to remove the bad reviews. The food was just barely ok and the service was deplorable. Our waitress was inattentive, never refilled our drinks, checked on us or removed plates that were done. And wouldn't write down our order but kept forgetting items we ordered and never apologized! We saw her just hanging out at the bar the entire time we were there. We had to keep asking the host and other staff there to help us with items needed. Management needs to step in and turn this place around or they will be out of business soon. Old potted plants with just dirt in them sitting next to our table on the floor and they were loudly rolling silverware near us. Disaster all around. Stay away! Rather than a professional or constructive attempt to address the concerns raised, the message was defensive and hostile in tone. We stopped here on a Saturday looking for a nice brunch place with no lines, and this spot came up. Easy parking with various options (and free), and a cool spot. Service was very friendly and welcoming on arrival from the moment we entered until we left. We were seated right away, and our hostess greeted us quickly as well. I appreciated how they accommodated my request of blending two meals together, the breakfast crepe and omelet. I wanted a veggie omelet with peppers, onions, avocado and so forth, and they made it. My cousin ordered some chicken n waffles with an iced coffee, and I got chicken tenders for my daughter. All in all everything was pretty good. Met up with a fairly large group of women for brunch Sunday. The location of this place is not intuitive. If you reach the yoga parking lot, you are close. This restaurant primarily relies on street parking which can be scarce. This venue is small, but I think it's laid out nicely. Once all of the women arrived, the waitress came around to get drinks and answer any questions we had. Once she came back, we put in our orders. I got the Farmer's Breakfast with bacon and a side of french toast. I think this is a pretty typical american breakfast and I thought it was cooked well, but honestly, the food isn't memorable. Is it bad? No, but it isn't a place I'd be dying to go back to. Overall, outside of taking our orders, we didn't have a ton of interaction with our waitress during the time we were at the restaurant. We had to ask for more water several times and I would imagine given the size of our group, it wouldn't be hard to swing by and see when a new pitcher needed to be dropped off. For what it was, I think this is a good place. Due to the lack of parking, difficult to find venue, below average service and average food, I don't know that I'll be back here. read more

Made reservations for nephew's birthday. They couldn't find them so we waited for 30-45 min to be seated. There were tables available that needed to be bussed. Was told our table (8 or 9) was coming up. There were 5 in our party. Instead of seating us at one of these two tabletops, the hostess was overidden by management and sat us instead at Table 13 which was really for 4 people at best. Long wait for food, coffee was size of shot glass and no more offered up. Restaurant was noisy.. Bathroom was gross. No papertowels, dirty sink with needed maintenance. Food was so so, just "meh". I had an amazing brunch experience today. I ordered the French toast and it was phenomenal--the perfect balance of sweet and savory. My eggs were cooked just right, and the potatoes stayed hot from the moment they hit the table until I finished them, which is impressive. What really elevated my visit was the service from Natalie and Savanna. Natalie was my main server and she was absolutely fantastic--attentive, friendly, and just a joy to be around. When she wasn't available, Savanna stepped in and made sure I was taken care of. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. The only thing that put a slight damper on my visit was the initial interaction with Isa, the first person I encountered. Instead of seating me, he simply handed me a menu and pointed to where I should sit. It felt a bit dismissive, especially considering I later saw him eating his lunch--was it really too much to walk me those extra few steps? A small thing, but it made a noticeable difference in the tone of the welcome. That said, Natalie and Savanna more than made up for it which is why I am still proceeding with a five star review. I have never felt so humiliated walking into a restaurant in my life. I decided to visit GoodTimes Houston Midtown because I get a beauty service in the same building. I always see their specials, and since it looked like a small, busy local spot, I genuinely wanted to support them. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a simple lunch turned into one of the most disrespectful experiences I've ever had. When I walked in the front door, I followed the sign that clearly said "Please see hostess for seating." A woman who was serving a nearby table asked if it was just me, and when I said yes, she pointed to a two-person booth and told me I could sit there. She also pointed to a table with four chairs, but I chose the booth--again, a two-person booth for just one person. A moment later, a man walked up with two white gentlemen behind him. I am a Black woman. His tone was immediately hostile. He looked at me and said: "What are you doing sitting here? You can't just come sit yourself." I calmly explained that I didn't seat myself, the woman working had pointed me to that booth. He dismissed that and told me she was "just a server," and that this is not how they do things. He claimed they normally seat "larger parties" in that small two-person booth and pointed me toward the four-chair table as if that would somehow make more sense. It was clear he simply did not want me sitting there. By that point, he had already talked down to me and made me extremely uncomfortable, so I said: "You know what? Never mind. I'll just go somewhere else." And instead of attempting to fix the situation or at least remain professional, he said: "Yeah, go on. I don't want your type of business anyway. I know your kind." I asked him, "What's my kind?" He doubled down, saying: "The kind that leaves reviews. I don't care about your reviews. You people always leave reviews without even eating the food. Go ahead." His tone was aggressive and condescending, and the people sitting inside looked shocked, mouths literally dropped. When I asked his name, he said: "Isa - I'm the owner." And he said it with pride, not an ounce of remorse. It genuinely hurt my feelings. I don't even have social media, so I'm not one of the people who tries to go viral or tear businesses down. I simply wanted to try a new restaurant and support a local spot. But this owner made it painfully clear that he does not value customers like me. If a business owner can speak this openly and comfortably to a customer--especially a Black woman--about "your kind," then that tells me everything I need to know about how he runs this establishment. He may not care about reviews, but I care about how I'm treated. And no one deserves to be spoken to the way he spoke to me. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values respect, professionalism, or basic human decency. read more
