    Lady Bird Salad

This is our first time at Good Union, but it won't be our last, for sure! The food was spectacular. I got the Pig Mountain Sandwich (5 Stars in my book), and my wife ordered the Lady Bird Salad. She loved the taste of the chicken, as well as the combination of mango and cheese. The owner took our order, and he said we were going to love it; he was right. We were there during the Texas/OU game, so the ambiance was great! We're definitely coming back.

My daughter and grandson had come here and really liked it a lot so the whole family came here for dinner tonight. I really like the atmosphere here. There were several people having some drinks and watching the Cowboys game and it gave the place a great energy. Unlike most barbecue restaurants, this is a place you order at the counter and then they bring your order out to your table. There is no watching the meat carver in this place. I ordered a Sliced Brisket Sandwich and Skinny Fries. I also had a Maine Root Root Beer. Overall I enjoyed my sandwich but admittedly it was a little dry for my tastes. For dessert we tried the Banana pudding and also a Fried Apple Pie with Ice Cream. While both desserts were ok, there was some inspiration missing in both of them. The Maine Root Root Beer was SO good, it made up for several of the meal's other shortcomings. Service -wise, I would be remiss if I did not mention that when we got there, we were one chair shy of having enough chairs for the whole family. When the manager noticed, she immediately came bringing us a chair from her office. Great service!!! That gesture pushed what was probably a solid 3.5 experience up to a four! Review #2109

Go to location at Cityline for lunch or Happy Hour. I enjoy the salad with smoked chicken, called as Lady Bird. The smoking is super strong. Hours later when you belch it resembles a peat scotch. But it is tasty! And they use bright green leafy lettuce. They have a great beer selection. They never rush you when you are drinking after work with work mates. And the staff is top notch.

Visiting from out of town, decided to stop in for lunch. It was early in the day and seating was plentiful. We opted to sit on the patio. For lunch we had sliced brisket, burnt end, spare ribs, beans, chips and queso. Food came quick, and I think soft drinks are free and refillable. Everything was ok, the brisket was bad, wouldn't recommended. It's counter service, everything came out pretty fast.

This visit was a burger adventure, ordered the weekender burger. Had the dressing on the side. Both were sweet, over all good but nothing stood out. Had a side of Mac & cheese it was okay. Sat at the bar, service was great. This was my second time dining here. Much more impressed.with the brunt ends brisket sandwich and the fried okra. That was 5 star food and service.

This place was low key chill. Our family came here mid day. The staff was really nice and accommodating. The food was delicious and fresh. We would definitely come back here. Great Job Good Union Barbecue. -FL Resident

The sliced brisket was dry and had zero smoke ring. It looked like it had been boiled. We asked that the cornbread be packaged separately as we had a gluten intolerant guest. They put it on all four orders. Sides were good.

amazing food and quick service too, the burger and potato was fresh and the sodas even tasted good. Definitely wouldn't mind coming here again.

Nice / polite staff, order at the counter (very convenient), delicious bbq. Ambience is chill. The weather wasn't good so I bet normally there is more activity outside and around near the patio / grassy area.

5 frozen nuggets a side and a drink. $17 and some change.

The breakfast tacos are *chefs kiss* outstanding! I live nearby and go often. Burnt ends are amazing as well when it isn't breakfast time.

The burnt ends quesadilla is amazing. The ribs are good as well as the jalapeño cornbread! I also love the spud with brisket or burnt ends!

It's a cool restaurant that has a lot of seating, and cool decor with Guitars displayed on the wall and a small stage for performers. We walked up to where you order. It was counter service and the guy that took our order was laid back. We paid, he gave us a number and then we chose a place to sit and waited for our food. We ordered several items to share. We started off with a charcuterie board that had meats, cheeses, nuts, fruit, and toasted bread. It was really good. The bread was able to hold the ingredients and was nice and crispy but not overly crispy. The meats were good and the different cheeses were flavorful with different textures. The fruit was fresh and the nuts were a nice crunchy addition. Very yummy start. We also shared the Tejas Nachos with Brisket. The Nachos come with tortilla chips covered in cheese, queso, jalapenos, tomatoes, and crema. They were okay. The Brisket was plentiful. There was a lot of cheese and queso spread out all over the nachos. It was a little too much. The chips got soggier the closer you got to the bottom of the pile. Our last shared item was the ZZ Top BBQ Flatbread. It was okay. It came with an overabundance of cheese. It also came with jalapenos, BBQ sauce, and we ordered it with Chicken. It was okay. The cheese was gooey but overwhelming. The jalapenos added a spicy flavor and the BBQ sauce was tasty. Overall the restaurant has a cool atmosphere with good service. The counter service, ordering and paying process was quick and easy. Everytime someone brought our food to us they were friendly. The food was okay and literally very cheesy.

The bar is lit in a way that makes you want to stay and chat. The only thing lovelier than the bartenders (that have been the same for years) was the loveliest companion that accompanied me most recently, and held such a wonderful conversation. There is a lot to the atmosphere here, both inside and outside, with the inside feeling like an intimate event, and the patio being a party starter. They often have live acoustic music outside, but it isn't brash or overwhelming. Usually one person and a guitar with a small amp. Nothing crazy. I haven't had pizza in one million years, but if I were going to break the streak it would be here. It's got a real artisan feel and taste that can't be beat. If you dine in, I recall they had the bread strips they bring out - GREAT stuff. If you aren't sure what to get, go for that Texas Mule. Tito's...Ginger Beer... need I say more?
