I was on my way to a meeting nearby. I drove an hour and like to stop at dinners near the meetings to make sure I keep track of time. I have seen the Restaurant from the outside so I wanted to give it a chance. I waited 10 minutes for a menu and/or the free coffee. The staff saw me and told me to sit anywhere I wanted. I made eye contact with both servers several times and they both acknowledged me from a distance. Neither responded to attempts to get them to come to my table. Just a so-so experience on our way through to visit family. They offer baked goods by the slice when you dine-in or choose to take it to go. Laid back atmosphere, casual in nature. Homey, country type place where the locals haunt. Old folks and camouflage clothing are prevalent here. Unfortunately the food is not the best. Unless you like rubbery, tasteless pancakes and gamey, muskrat tasting scrapple you may want to look elsewhere for a good breakfast. Hash browns had no seasoning, clueless as to what the heck kind of cheese they could have possibly used on the omelet, but the sausage...well that was the worst! Stopped for dinner yesterday. Always heard that the Broasted Chicken was out of this world so thought I'd give it a try. What a disappointment with the meal over all. Chicken was ok.....mashed potatoes were disgusting.....contained large chunks of potato ........almost as if someone forgot to add liquid to the potatoes when mashing. Menu stated vegetable and roll and one cold side to come with the meal. Had no roll or vegetable when it was served. We have eaten here many time in the past and both the food and service were at a different level in the past than it was last night. All servers seemed to be of the younger generation and dress code was lacking also. Something appears to have changed at this establishment.........and not for the better. What a disappointment. Instantly rubbed the wrong way by the surly "hostess" whose job it was to brusquely ask patrons if they had "signed in." She seemed to be generally disgusted, if not at least inconvenienced, by everyone who walked through the door. I am accustomed to waiting for seating on the weekends at popular breakfast joints, but we waited for over half an hour for a table (again, not unheard of, but I wish we had been offered a seat at the counter that we didn't see behind the hostess that was nearly empty). Once we were seated, a lovely, lovely lady came over to greet us and take our order (the only reason this place gets two stars instead of one). We ordered, she quickly brought us our drinks, and here is where the absurdity really begins. Orange juice is clearly a mix or from a machine. Unacceptable. I'm sorry, but if you purport to serve "country cookin'" or whatever, and you're going to charge me $3, GIVE ME REAL ORANGE JUICE. This certainly isn't the only place that has committed this sin, but it bothers me so so much. Anyway, our food took I don't know how long to make its way to our table. The folks next to us, who were seated just before we were, had eaten and left and the next party had arrived BEFORE WE GOT OUR FOOD. This could be attributed to the utter chaos that could be witnessed in the kitchen in the back. Several plates of food went by us and back to the kitchen multiple times. Finally, the food. I got some sort of "Mess" -- mine was chipped beef gravy and biscuits (though I'm pretty sure I ordered sausage gravy, but it took so long that I forgot). Tasted like paste. Serving was ridiculously huge (not that I'm opposed to this). Home fries were good. My partner said his food was OK. I tried his sausage -- COOKED TO DEATH. It was cheap and our lovely server didn't charge us for drinks. I'm seriously disappointed that there seems to be little in the way of good, hearty breakfast places around here, and I thought this might be the ticket. Went with a group of 9 felt generally unwelcomed from the hostess and was told for any group more than 4 we need to make a reservation but she will work with us this time. We weren't sure about when exactly everyone would be there, 3 people from the group ended up being almost 20 minutes later than they thought, and we didn't mind waiting at all for a table. On top of that she had an issue with most of the group waiting outside instead of cramming into an area barely big enough for just our group let alone any other poor soul trying to pay or coming in behind us. Their new Selinsgrove location is not impressive, neither was their Northumberland location. The owner is turning away walk-in customers due to take out orders all while entertaing pepsico employees. If they cannot handle both they should reconsider their business model. I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and some mozzarella sticks after being informed of a 30 minute wait due to the take out orders. Needless to say, my burger came out 1st with french fries no sweet potato fries. My mozzarella sticks came out Bout 10 minutes later. This restraunt is staying off my radar!!! read more

We eat at both the Milton and the Northumberland locations and have NEVER had a bad experience. The girls are amazing and the food is so good. I went to Perkins Restaurant 2 days ago for breakfast and the food was not hot and we had to ask for more coffee.There were 4 ppl using one pot of coffee so one round almost emptied the pot. The bill for my husband and myself was 21.oo and some change not including the tip.The food was OK would have been better HOT. No home cooking there. No Thanks !!! We will go to Good Wils at least the food is hot,the service is great and we can afford to eat there more than once a week. Also if you neve tried the ice cream items give them a try. My husband and I ate at the Selinsgrove location on Sunday, June 26, 2016. The chili he ordered looked and tasted as if it was the last of the pot and had been reheated for days. My quesadilla was tasteless, even with sour cream and salsa. The restaurant stated it closed at 8 p.m. We went in at 7:00 and ordered a small meal. At 7:30, approximately 15 minutes or less after being served, the waitress was pushing the check on us --obviously because she wanted to close. The man who took our money at the register asked quickly if everything was alright and then became disinterested talking to someone else. Sorry to say I will not be going to Goodwill restaurant again...I ordered Liver and onions an it came out charred,,When I told the waitress it was way overdone, I was told that's the only way it's made...Potatoes were cold, but thought the gravy would warm it up, but that was barely warm...Will say the baked limas and coffee was hot at least..Needless to say the waitress could have cared less and made no effort to remedy anything...Paid my bill and left...I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone... read more
