Very cool candy and toy/gift shop located in the square in McKinney. We were walking around the square Saturday afternoon and happened upon this place. The first thing you notice when you arrive isn't the toys or gifts, it's the smell. It smells fantastic. Apparently they make all the candy on premises, and the shop benefits from the baking. This place packs a lot into a small shop. They several types of candies in the case, including truffles, fudge, sugar free options, bars, and other assorted items. I went with a dozen truffles to take home for $20. Also got a couple of slabs of fudge: chocolate peanut butter and salted caramel. The salted caramel was far and away the winner. Not that the chocolate peanut butter wasn't good, but the caramel was excellent. The truffles are gorgeous, they look like a lot of time went into them. Great designs and very impressive; they'd make a great gift. A couple of them looked almost like glass, they were that impressive. Again, I liked the salted caramel, but the strawberry was another favorite. In addition, they have a lot of the classic candies (think gummy candies, those old wax coke bottle things, etc), toys, shirts, general random gifts. And, although I didn't look closely, they have a lot of camera stuff too. Like I said, they pack a lot into a small space. You can work up quite a tab here if you don't watch yourself. Easy to snatch and grab from the candy case. 12 truffles for $20 might seem a tad on the high side, but given the location and the attention to detail, I think the price was reasonable. Highly recommended, it's a fun shop and you'll probably find something you like.

***Goodies Texas looks the part and is a perfect fit for its surroundings (McKinney's quaint, nostalgic and small town-esque square), but I felt their chocolate truffles were not as good as other great chocolatiers I have tried across the country*** Goodies Texas is a nice looking and local chocolates shop in Downtown McKinney. Downtown McKinney has a quaint, small town square feel and Goodies is the perfect fit for it. Goodies features lots of chocolates by the piece as well as a variety of packaged candy, treats and toys for kids. I tried a few of their chocolate truffles and they were decent. What was most impressive was their variety of flavors. They had a lot of standard flavors like caramel and dark chocolate, but they also had more interesting truffles like peanut butter and jelly, Irish cream, caramel apple, Jack Daniel's, and so on. Unfortunately, I did not love the truffles here. The fillings were fine and sweet but did not explode with an intense and distinct flavor like you get with chocolate truffles at top chocolatiers such as Kollar Chocolates in Yountville, California and Christopher Elbow in Kansas City. In addition, I found the outer chocolate shell a tad dusty like it had been sitting around too long. They did not have that good color of excellent dark chocolate. The flavor was pleasing, but it did not really taste and melt like high quality chocolate. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices for their chocolates are a tad high. Goodies Texas has a nice look that is cluttered but very charming. Sometimes, you can find great chocolatiers in small towns like McKinney, but I felt this one fell a little short. They had a variety of chocolates beyond truffles though so maybe some of their other selections like their turtles provide a more enjoyable and memorable chocolate experience. Free street parking is available.

Fun homemade fudge and chocolates store on the McKinney Square! Their candies are amazing and are almost too pretty to eat! I shopped with my cousin and she had the staff help her put a Valentine's chocolate box together for her husband. You can mix and match and get fudge, toffees, chocolates, cordials....the sugar sky's the limit! They also sell cute t-shirts and there's also a photography portion (across from the candies) that's run by the family. You can drop off rolls of film or have your camera repaired. I hear it's excellent as well!

Truffle mix! They look to good to eat!!!

I could probably spend my entire paycheck here. I stopped in one day and got 6 truffles and a mix of their other chocolates. It was well worth it. Everything looked and tasted fantastic! The only negative is that they are not open longer hours so I can only make it on the weekends!

Expect to be greeted by 'RBF' & ugly attitudes…read more Avoid. Don't waste your time! This place is filled with young people that don't even want to work and act as if their job is the worst. This company needs to get people that actually want to work with sincerity because the people currently working there are going to put their company down the drain. The young girl with the pixie haircut was VERY RUDE & gave nothing but 'RBF" upon entering and while I was asking questions. I came in with the intention of buying a full pie but after the service that was given I walked out with nothing in hand and I don't regret it. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. !!!MY RECOMMENDATION: I ended up going to an ice cream shop located in the downtown shops as well that sells boozy ice cream (I believe it was called boozy cocktail) which I recommend for your sweet treat in downtown instead! This ice cream shop was far superior in service than the pie place could ever be. PLUS ITS ICE CREAM! Who doesn't love that more than pies!

I had to round up as to not seem too harsh but, hang in till the end to get a glimpse of the real deal at Emporium Pies McKinney. In a sentence,I don't plan on returning to this or the other locations. What started out as a concept with a lot of energy seems to be running flat. There was no energy in the service, environment or food at my visit. It was a beautiful spring day and we stopped in to grab a piece of pie to go. The interior is less than appealing and every visit I wonder why they don't spice the place up I had been craving banana cream pie for months and I considered my self lucky it's on the menu. Also, blueberry which is usually a good choice. We took our beautifully packaged to-pie down the street and enjoyed on a bench watching the world go by

Chocolate !!!!!…read more and locally made Chocolate at that, they have a table for the holidays in the Palouse mall, right out side Quizno's, they also have a store back towards town but there is not enough room to park my 18 wheeler. I have drove by there store hundreds of times and wanted to check them out, so I finally got a chance, I picked some hot chocolate sauce to put on Ice Cream and it is some of the best topping I have ever gotten, it also goes well in coffee for a nice sweet kick I wanted some of the hot chocolate powder but there were out, I am hoping they will have some tomorrow when I stop in again Yeah I am Hooked On Cowgirl go and sign up for some Cowgirl News and specials http://www.cowgirlchocolate.com/

I love to bring my…read morefriends/significant others here for their first taste of Cowgirl chocolates... mostly because of the store policy of giving every first time visitor a free chocolate truffle of their choice! Now now, don't go abusing this policy... besides, they'll probably recognize you ;) Every time I come by, the same sweet older fellow is working, and he's always very friendly without being pushy, and will help you figure out what you're looking for. The store is small, with a work area in the back, but they carry a range of prepackaged gifts, some local art, an area where you can pick your own variety of chocolates, and t-shirts so you can spread the good word! So why hesitate, knowing that your first (free) taste of delicious locally-made chocolate is waiting? Recommendations: My favorites of the spicy varieties have to be the spicy mint and spicy lime tequila chocolates, and my mild favorites are the orange truffles and (I think it's seasonal?) strawberry lemonade daisies. Also, the spicy hot chocolate mix is AMAZING and makes phenomenal mochas!
