Many plumbing supply houses are not * The average discount over the entire order was substantial for the fixtures we bought, and was better than that offered by any other showroom In addition to all of that, Jennifer understands the emotional toll from renovations and reduces concerns where she can: * Your home is in chaos and daily routines are disrupted (she can't help you there) * The wide selection of brands can be daunting (she helps you cut through the clutter of information, and whittle down the options) * You are concerned about making costly mistakes (she helps you make choices with confidence and can also point you towards products that can be returned without penalty) * You might feel urgency to get the renovation done before holiday guests arrive (she can tell you which items are in stock and if not in stock, which manufacturers' estimated delivery dates are reliable) * Your contractor may be pressing you towards products you don't want or like (she can help you identify alternative products you do like) Jennifer has our highest recommendation.

The cabinet price…read morethey quoted me ended up being at least a couple thousand more than the place I ended up choosing and they were not as nice either (the East Star ones were particle board while the other ones were wood, the other ones were soft close which these were not, my actual layout ended up having almost entirely drawers on the base cabinets which wasn't included in the East Star price and so it would have been even higher than the quote they gave me, and so on). I was also looking for countertops and their options left a lot to be desired. They were maybe slightly cheaper than the other place ($40 difference for a standard countertop size of 110" by 26") but way less options and didn't look as nice. Mostly they were just not that helpful and I also didn't love their selections. I left searching for other options pretty quickly. I think one reason to maybe come here is the prices but in my experience even those were higher and the quality and selection were worse. In addition, ideally you want someone who can actually help you figure out a layout and make you feel like you want to shop there and I didn't get that sense. Maybe I just had a bad experience but even though I came in having some idea of what I wanted, I definitely did not get the vibe that this was where I would find it.

They emailed me last minute to say they'd do a smaller sink than I had specified and I didn't see the email until it was too late. They were about to do the small sink but fortunately I was onsite and caught the issue in time. They made it work with a proper size sink. Even with these glitches I still was satisfied and would absolutely work with them again. The price was similar to what I'd paid several years ago for a similar sized job so I would consider their overall offering to be very competitively priced.

I think it's important folks know…read moreabout this experience so see below: ______________________ I had such a bad experience with Mission Home which I know will look bonkers given the 5 star reviews. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!!

This makes no sense because we just want to get a ballpark to see if it's even make sense to continue. But anyway, on the date of the site visit, the guy come without any tool for measurements and for note taking. The guy just spent like 20 mins walking around the house and said he will get back to us with a quote. But I never hear back from them since. I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. This is also mentioned by other 1 star reviews.

The showroom is well laid out, two floors, attractive, not confusing, with a range of prices from, say, Delta, Moen and Kohler to higher end brands. (I think lower costs on the bottom floor, higher-end upstairs.) Free parking lot to the side of the building, which you need in the Mission. It's important to see and touch as many of these products as you can. We worked with Keoki Garner. He was well informed, timely, easily available, and collaborative. He stayed cheerful when I overrode him and then changed things last minute (due to my own mistakes.) I loved that I could do research on Build.com and then bring it to Keoki. He never upsold or resisted when I went, say, for Kohler over Grohe. Everything so far has been delivered impeccably and undamaged. Build.com offers an enormous range of products, and I like that too. You can return within a reasonable amount of time. We haven't started construction yet but almost everything is sourced and in the garage.We have a clear billing record so much came from Build.com. I ended up gravitating to some more expensive fixtures, but not because of pressure, because of my own preference. I'd definitely do business with Keoki and with Ferguson again.

The plumbing company I had originally called was more interested in selling me something I did not need. I really appreciated the help of the Ferguson customer service person who helped me find the appropriate solution. I am so pleased with my water pressure and lovely faucet now.

KZ was one of the reasons my recent remodel finished in four weeks…read more I started at KZ early in the process after visiting a few other stores and feeling both underwhelmed by their selections and overwhelmed by figuring out what I actually needed. On that first visit I met Bailey, who ended up becoming a key part of the project. I came in with measurements from my contractor, rough layout ideas, and a general sense of what I wanted: drawers instead of mostly base cabinets, quartz countertops, and a way to turn a small, dysfunctional kitchen into something thoughtfully designed with proper prep space. Bailey took those requests and my contractor's initial mockups and developed a layout. I was immediately impressed by his thoughtfulness and attention to detail. He also included things I would not have known to ask for, including a blind corner pull out "peanut" cabinet that turned dead space into some of the most usable storage in the kitchen. He explained his decisions when asked and found solutions as needed, for example suggesting a microwave cabinet when I mentioned not knowing where to put that. I left excited about the project and hopeful it could actually come together. He was consistently responsive to my many questions afterward. He sent estimates for different options so I could compare costs, such as a 4-inch versus full-height backsplash, and shared renderings of the cabinet and countertop combination. Seeing the space rendered that early was a significant moment for me. His involvement continued well beyond placing the order. As the project progressed, Bailey made sure everything was delivered properly, communicated directly with my contractor, answered questions as they came up, kept suggesting ways to improve the project, and made sure everything was set up correctly for countertop templating. The fabricator, Rafael, was also excellent and did a beautiful job. He and Bailey suggested adding another slab of quartz so we could do a full waterfall on the exposed ends of the counter. I took their advice and I am very glad I did. It made a huge difference and made that part of the design feel complete. I was also happy with KZ's pricing and selection. I visited four cabinet and countertop stores, and KZ had the best overall selection I found. Their prices were extremely competitive without sacrificing features or quality. The cabinets have plywood boxes, soft-close doors and drawers, and full-extension drawers, and they arrived fully assembled rather than flat-packed. My contractor had specifically told me not to buy RTA cabinets and these were straightforward for him to install. All of my other interactions with KZ were positive too. Delivery drivers called ahead, other employees in the store were helpful, and the factory expedited part of my order for an additional charge when my fast schedule required it. One thing worth mentioning for anyone considering KZ is the type of experience they provide. This is not a full-service design firm where someone makes every selection and manages every detail for you. I had to be a little assertive on my first visit because there were a limited number of design/sales reps available, but once I connected with Bailey the experience was excellent. You will get the most out of KZ if you come in with measurements and some idea of what you want, are willing to look around and give input, and are okay following up with questions. When I did reach out, Bailey was very responsive. Some practical things to know: they do not offer financing, some costs such as fabrication are settled separately and in cash, and delivery is extra if you cannot pick up the order yourself. Mine was around $500 for 18 cabinets plus panels and hardware, delivered about an hour away. I think some of the savings come from this model, but it helps to have the right expectations. My entire remodel took about four weeks, including a full primary bathroom and extensive changes throughout the house, with the KZ order placed roughly one week before construction began. A lot of the credit goes to my excellent contractor, but KZ's responsiveness, timely deliveries, and efficient work were a major factor in keeping things moving. It was night and day compared with buying my other materials through large home improvement stores. When I had questions or concerns, it usually took a simple text to Bailey to resolve them. I am super happy with the finished kitchen and with my experience at KZ. I recommend them to anyone looking for cabinets or countertops, and I am especially grateful to Bailey and Rafael for how much care they put into my project.

My home is an upper unit of a 2 unit, 115 year old building in the Castro. You can see from the photos below that Gregory did a beautiful professional job on my project, working with the architect/designer who had suggested the built-ins, and responding to my particular requests. Fitting new cabinetry into an old wooden building required a lot of customization during installation, and Gregory was definitely up to the task - as mentioned by other reviewers he is easy to work with, creative, flexible, with an "incredible eye." He did all the installation and finishing himself (with a helper). To be fair, it took Gregory longer than he had estimated to make and install the cabinetry, but it was definitely worth the wait and he was very responsive and obliging throughout the process. The quality and value were top notch; the cost was about 50-60% that of the estimates I received from online cabinetry firms I contacted. Definitely a 5 star experience - thank you Gregory!

The bookcases on each side of the center chest piece was his idea too and it was such a clever use of space and it looks great. He is one of the most honest and quality-focused contractors I have ever worked with. During planning, I spoke to a number of other contractors who wanted to use retrofit windows and just leave the siding in place. Alan took the time to explain the proper way that the building wrap, siding and windows had to interface to get waterproofing, and how we were better off replacing all three if we wanted to be sure we'd fix our problem. Even with this extra scope, Alan's pricing was very fair. Thank god we went with Alan. When they removed the existing siding, they found severe water damage underneath the siding and a subpar earlier repair job. When this surprise came up, Alan talked us through the damage and gave us our options. They ended up ripping up two layers of existing siding, cutting out damaged building sheathing and replacing it with new plywood, before proceeding with the job. The overrun costs were very reasonable and we never felt like Alan was taking advantage of us. The end result was great quality at a fair price, and peace of mind that our issues have been resolved and we won't have to worry about the front / roof for a long time now. I would definitely hire Alan again and would recommend him to anyone looking for this kind of work.

But that does not make any sense because the veneer is peeling off even in places far below the countertops. His quoted price to replace the damaged area: $1,685 I own another house where the kitchen cabinets were installed decades ago and still look great. If you want cabinets that last and a company that will stand behind their work, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The color was based on a sample that I provided, and the sample I provided turned out being not quite the right color of white. So when the unit was installed it just didn't quite blend with the surrounding trim. It's exactly the kitchen I envisioned...light, clean, and complimentary to our early 1960's home. He gave us a couple of options for cabinet finishes with detailed quotes and helped us select an option within our budget. He's busy and couldn't start for 3 or 4 weeks which gave us time to select and order a new countertop/backsplash, sink, faucet, and hardware. His countertop subcontractor did an excellent cutting and installation job too. John's crew worked M-Th which gave us enough downtime during the construction that lasted about 3 weeks. He used the same two guys throughout the project. Ed and Mynor showed up on time everyday and were hardworking and neat. He gave us paint to match the cabinets and we painted the interiors to exactly match the Thermofoil wrapped doors and frames. After 20 years as a construction manager at K-12 schools, I can honestly say John is one of the best contractors I've worked with. Nearly two decades later, the level of service we receive is exactly the same as it was on day one. That alone is extraordinary and something people should not overlook when selecting vendors for a remodel. Over time, as you'd expect, hinges loosen and drawers or cabinets fall slightly out of alignment. Every time this has happened, Keane has sent someone out for a "tune-up." We just had another visit today, and the experience was once again exceptional. The technician not only fixed the obvious issues, but proactively checked every drawer and cabinet in the house. We had an 8:00 a.m. appointment; he arrived early and waited in his vehicle until precisely 8:00. (No 4-hour arrival window with Keane.) I even assumed one pantry door was permanently warped--it is now perfectly aligned. Having worked with many contractors and vendors over the years, I continue to be blown away, and grateful, for the professionalism, craftsmanship, kindness, and consistency Keane Kitchens provides. This kind of long-term commitment is incredibly rare. Choosing Keane Kitchens was one of the best decisions we made among the hundreds involved in our remodel, and their longevity proves our experience is not an anomaly. Very few companies truly stand behind their work the way Keane Kitchens does. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
