I had walked over 10K steps that day and sweating. Just the right condition to stop by this yummy dessert place. I opened the front door and wham! Wafts of delicious smelling cookies hit my nose. Love that there's a spot for late night cookie cravings in Salem! I got the Kit Kat cookie and honestly can't remember the name of the other one, it might have been a Milky Way cookie? It was a double chocolate cookie with caramel and something else on top. I liked that one the best. It was so good with the warm melted chocolate chips inside. The Kit Kat cookie was less impressive but a decent tasting cookie. It just wasn't as moist and has less melted chocolate. You can order milk and they have dairy free options of milk too. This placeeeee! Where to begin! Okay, the decor, wow. I don't even smoke but I felt like I was in stoner paradise. The cool decor made me feel like I walked into a lava lamp! It was so exciting! The "bottomless milk" option, like what?! Sooo cute and also necessary with these incredible desserts. We got one of each cookie ice cream available. The pop tart one, so good! I'm usually a chocolate person but this was great. Soft but not too soft, packed with flavor, that jam fruity kick paired perfectly with the cookie itself. Then we got the chocolate one which had what looked like toasted ruffles potato chips on top. So random but so good! The cookie was incredibleeeee and so was the swirl ice cream we got with it. Lastly the peanut butter chocolate ice cream, I'm not getting these titles exactly right but close enough. So yummy! Not over powered with peanut butter which can sometimes happen. I saw a fellow Yelper review Goodnight Fatty earlier in the year, and bookmarked that I would have to stop by and check it out. This past weekend, I did just that and the cookies were great: crispy on the outside, very chewy on the inside with different fillings: cinnamon crumble, caramel brownie, and kit kat were available. If you go to their storefront, I was able to pick up a fresh batch, so they were still gooey and fresh. The menu each weekend rotates and is only available online later in the evening, which is quite late--and the menu isn't available online during the off-times. I can appreciate the mystery aspect--and it admittedly makes things tougher to plan if you want to know what's available beforehand, but can't find out until later in the evening. But all in all--if I am back on the North Shore and am looking for a sweet tooth craving, Goodnight Fatty is a great stop. read more

Alright, so I was behind in trying Goodnight Fatty but I am so thankful I had a chance to stop by. If you're like me and have been waiting a while to get their cookies, but are unsure of the process, here it is. You'll need to place an order online by filling out your name, number, email, allergies, how many cookies you want, if you want to be surprised or know the flavors, and if you'd like to order milk (whole, 2%, almond) and or soft serve (vanilla, chocolate - non dairy, or swirl). You'll also need to let them know if you're doing curbside pick up (you then give some general deets about your car) or pick up by walking to the store front. At this time, they will not take walk up orders, so order through their site! FYI you can only order once they open and sometimes they may need to close ordering due to the large amount of orders that come through. I went with 2 flights of cookies (2 of each kind: fruity pebbles, dunkaroos, and Cinnamon toast crunch), with and order of whole milk and almond milk. You then let them know the time you'd pick it up (15, 30, 45, 60 minutes from ordering), and then you will get a text confirming your order. Once you're out front, you'll text "HERE" to their text and they'll soon walk out with your order. Overall, awesome cookies!! They are gooey, flavorful, and dope. I also love that they are still able to serve during this time, so go on and check them out. I hope they bring back their oreo cookie so I can go back and try it! read more

THEE best!! We stopped by after our visit to the Witch Museum and this gem is located across the street. We tried the Milky Way cookie with vanilla soft serve. FRICKIN delicious, the cookie was baked to perfection, warm and paired nicely with the ice cream. We also got the Carrot Cake, also FRICKIN delicious and baked to perfection. The center was filled with a nice dollop of vanilla frosting and tasted just like a slice of carrot cake. We devoured them and unfortunately didn't snap a photo. I love the atmosphere and the whole concept. There was a line when I arrived on a Saturday night, but it moves quick and it's worth the wait. I wasn't totally impressed by the cookie alone, but when you dip it in milk it comes to life. DON'T skip out on the milk! They even have almond milk. When you get in to the store, they have three options to choose from and you need to pick rather quickly. While you wait for your warm cookie and milk, you can play games - had a great time with What Do You Meme. I'd definitely come back! read more

In downtown Salem you'll find a great cookie spot called, Good night fatty. They're only open three days a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) but it's totally worth it to check them out. Each week they have a different selection of cookies and you can buy them individually, in a three pack or in a six pack. I went with my friend and we got a six pack of the cookies of the week and they packed them up so quickly and they were still warm! Each cookie was so delicious and unique from each other. I'm so glad we got at least one of each to try. I would 100% suggest going here and getting yourself some yummy cookies! read more

5 Stars are not enough! My family and I recently discovered this Gem 1.5 months ago, and we visit Salem at least twice a month (we live in Boston) for the past 8 years or so. We are dumbfounded as to why this place doesn't have a line stretching around the corner for their delicious items! If they had a location in Boston's South End neighborhood, without a doubt, that would certainly be the case. I witness on a daily basis here in Boston, long lines for establishments that are not half as good as what Fatty's turns out. We are enthusiasts for their Breakfast "Savory" and "Sweet", and their location is now our 1st Stop anytime we visit Salem. We've eaten here 3 times in the past month and this place is consistant with truning out mouth watering items to enjoy on your own to share with friends and family. The Caramello varietal was one of the best cookies I've ever had: there was plenty of salt and the texture was simply divine. It's really fun that they rotate the cookie flavors so it keeps us checking back each week and stocking up to share with family. I hadn't been to Goodnight Fatty in months. This is a new location, across from the carriage house and has replaced their quirky alley location. This works perfectly as a location for social distancing, curbside pick-up orders and outside seating. I went on Friday evening and the line wasn't too bad - five or six people ahead but ordering together. I didn't realize how great this location is for curbside pick-up, very easy and plenty of room in front of the business. I'd consider that in the future just to speed things up. The business also offers fatty drops now (although none to Wakefield, alas) where you can order for delivery. You have to check their website and FB to see which cities are included as it seems to change based on day. My cookie craving partner and I waited about ten minutes and then ordered 2 of each cookie (6 total). They also have soft serve ice cream available now which looked good but we were being bad as it was ordering so many cookies so we didn't also get ice cream. The wait wasn't bad at all, maybe five minutes and we were on our way. This weekend's theme was Blockbuster movie cookies. They had a very unique popcorn cookie that honestly tasted like movie popcorn, complete with the butter taste. Really lovely and a delicate cookie. They also had what seemed to be cocoa puffs/chocolate chip and another one which was so gooey that it was easily my favorite - dark chocolate with what tasted like melted chocolate chunks inside. We loved all three cookies (had a couple fresh and then the rest on a road trip the next day). Really fantastic selection that paired well together and did remind me of movie treats you could get when I was a kid. read more

We came across Goodnight Fatty after our visit to the Salem Witch Museum. It is right across the street! It wasn't busy when we went but there were only 3 items on the menu (their food items are called "chubbies" which are kind of like a stuffed bagel ball). There was a savory, spicy, and sweet option. We definitely wanted to try the sweet option which sounded like a cinnamon roll but they were out of it so we ended up ordering the spicy. After we ordered the spicy, we learned that we got the last one so the only one available to order for other customers was the savory. Not sure how they only have 3 food menu options and sold out of 2 of them by 1pm and wasn't able to replenish. We also ordered a cold brew coffee with almond milk. The coffees were good--pretty standard. The chubbie was underwhelming. At $6 for one "bagel ball", I was expecting more. The aesthetic of the place was really nice--i can see why people are drawn to it. I think I would've had a better experience if I was actually able to order what I wanted to order. Give it a try if you pass by it and are hungry but make sure that there are food items that you actually want! read more

Found this gem last year at their old location and they've since moved to a larger location and to my delight extended their hours for October! It was a quick in-and-out. My wife had pre-ordered cookies for Valentines Day. The entrance is very simple, rustic, with their truck parked across the street. Or, the alley to be more accurate. Then, I stepped through the portal. Oh. My. God. The smell... was heavenly. Instant salvinating effect upon walking into the establishment. The smell of fresh baked cookies was heavy, it felt like you were on an adventure and that life could be beautiful all the time, and maybe this whole 'being an adult' isn't so bad (hahahahahahaha crying on the inside as I right this). Through the door, down the hall, and into the main room to pick up your cookies. Wide open space, charming lighting, with a counter space with the people that own the shop. I have been eating these cookies since they were working out of a coffee shop on Derby. They were always amazing. When they moved to the alley, still awesome. But since they moved to the new location they have declined steadily. The cookies that historically been epic, have now slid to average. Goodnight fatty, a bakery which serves warm weird cookies. Apparently their menu changes often so what you get varies. But I kinda wish they'd offered at least one more 'normal' option when I was there. My stomach isn't 16 anymore and was therefore not up for eating a cookie filled with raw cookie dough, or covered in all the sprinkles. I went for the m&m with caramel popcorn instead..and picked the popcorn off. Little too sweet even still. But maybe I got unlucky with the menu for the day?
