These tests were done to rule-in or rule-out the beginnings of Dementia. After the Dr's review of the tests, he determined that there are no signs of any illness however, due to a noticeable loss of memory that shared with him. He prescribed a medication he felt might assist with mitigating that issue. I cross my fingersthis will be the fix or at least stop the episodes in their tracks. The only issue I do have is with my Dr's lack of his 'Desk-side-manner' which he clearly lacks. Don't expect a handshake, smile or a friendly thumbs up after tests come back on your side. But, let me preface this by stating the 2 stars are solely for the clinic staff & not the physician. Upon arrival, we had a short wait but the check-in receptionist was kind and helped my fiancé get checked in and brought back quickly. Dr. Joo came in fairly quickly as well, at first she seemed kind but that quickly turned sour when she turned to my Fiancè and said "oh and who is that with you" as if I wasn't sitting right in front of her face. Soon after, Dr. Joo pulled up my Fiancé's stat MRI (FROM 2 weeks ago!!) stating "From your imaging, I'm surprised you chose me because I'm not a specialist in this condition" -- extra reassuring, right? If the clinic knew she wasn't a fit physician for the purpose of our visit why did they go ahead and book us in with her same-day? Following this exchange, my fiancé began to tell her the course of her medical occurrences and shared how quickly she's recovered thus far - even surprising her other specialists and PCP. But no, it was as if all of the info she shared went straight over Dr. Joo's head. Dr. Joo immediately turned robotic, blurting out medical terminology and scientific facts while going back and forth to consult with a provider who does specialize in our area of concern. Initially, she offered 2 different options (1 outpatient, 1 in patient) but then went back on her recommendation stating the only option was in-patient. She refused the outpatient option saying it would "take too long" even though that's what my Fiancè requested. Required we have my fiancé admitted to a hospital for treatment of a condition that she couldn't even diagnose. Just kept repeating that she's not a specialist in said area and that "this can be a strong indicator of ___, but you'll need additional imaging and testing to confirm" -- no additional testing ordered, imaging was ordered only in the event the hospital did not complete it on their own. After reviewing the clinical summary document, it's clear that Dr. Joo failed to listen to the information being shared with her as every detail - timeline, date of other Dx, time spent with patient- incorrect. A waste of a copay, complete disregard and lack of compassion for life changing news to someone in their mid twenties. It's sad that this was our experience as all the other reviews show her in a caring and compassionate light. I guess she must not be keen to the lgbtq community, young people, or brown people. Her "oh well, this is my recommendation" attitude is extremely off putting. She gives textbook physician, severely lacking in practicality and bedside manner/concern. We left the clinic feeling very confused, unconfident, untrusting, and helpless. I would never recommend this doctor if you're seeking care and happen to fall under any of these categories; we should've just waited for the Loma Linda Neurologists. Will be seeking a second opinion.
