Just before Thanksgiving, I lost power to one of my electrical breakers. I finally got these people, but of course I had to wait over a week for them to show up. It was a holiday. I mentioned that I suspected the outside outlet which a former owner had self installed for her hot tub. He looked at it and said that it needed a cover and they would put one on. He then said that the problem might be under my back porch, it might be the outlets on the back porch, it might be the wiring to the garage and of course that would be digging up the cement and the yard. Then he said I really needed a new breaker panel. They came to install the breaker panel and I still didn't have power to that part of the property. They said it was the wiring on the Florida room and disconnected part of the power to it. I pointed out the outdoor outlet again. They said you really don't want one there do you ? Yes. It is the power to the backyard. They fixed the outlet and got into the van. I plugged everything back into the outlet and didn't have power. The breaker had tripped again only this time it was on the new panel for which I paid $11,000. I asked them to come back and look at that outlet. He said the plugs were wet and if I let them dry out, everything would be fine. I waited. I plugged everything back in and had no power. I was back to the exact same issue I had before I spent over $11,000. I went to the breaker box and flipped the breaker on. Sparks shot out about a foot and I landed on my elderly rear end in the basement. I go out to that outlet and too heavy duty outdoor extension cords are completely fried. So, I basically spent over $11,000 and still had my original problem which by the way I later diagnosed myself and fixed. I would not recommend them. read more

Called for GFCI's in kitchen. Got an estimate and plan seemed reasonable. When they performed the work things were not as they expected and the tech spent many hours for this process. They all were very nice but the deception came when they were only able to put in one of the three GFCI. At this time it had already been a long day and I was told the one GFCI would cover for the other two. I knew better but was tired of dealing with it. When the one trips the other 2 are still active. Obviously this is a safety issue and wished they would have at least been honest they were unable to do it. Bottom line several hundred for just one GFCI put in. read more

After a nearly 2-hour meeting which was about an hour and 45 minutes more than necessary to analyze my issues The gentleman finally gave me an estimate of almost $10,000 for work that I got quoted at less than 3,000 from another company Total rip off...... I got an estimate from them to have my gas Lampost converted over to an electric Lampost. They would have to go for my landscaping which is right over on the other side of my sidewalk underneath my sidewalk and then into my garage and connected to that electrical outlet. I was told the cost would be $3800 approximately if I provided the pole and top of the Lampost and $4100 if I did not. I told them that was way too much and they offered me financing $50 a month for 10 years which I also told them was not acceptable. I got another quote from another electric company and am paying $775 for the exact same work. I was strongly encourage you to get other quotes. read more

BE CAUTIOUS.. All companies have good employees & bad employees unfortunately they sent a lowlife scammer name ELIJAH to my sister's house who tried to charge her $8,000 for work that didn't need done! Which would not have fixed her problem! And he had a tech in training with him! Elijah told multiple lies directly to our faces trying to convince us she needed a "full service" on her breaker panel inside and out after she lost a leg of electricity coming into her house. He told us that! He correctly identified the problem, and bold faced LIED about how to fix it. He also left the protective covers off of multiple switches/outlets and THE MAIN BREAKER COVER leaving high voltage wire exposed which is a major hazard! Luckily she had an honest electrician come out for a second opinion the following morning who spent less than 10 minutes in the house, and told her to call the electric company because the problem was outside! The electric company sent a tech out a few hours later who in 30 minutes had fixed the problem. For free! I would avoid this company, but If you do decide to call them make sure they don't send ELIJAH! read more

BEWARE!! Had the tech come out to my Mom's house. He quoted me a price which I thought was a little high. He called someone and they took it down a little. They asked for half down, so I wrote them a check and asked them if I give another check to the guys when they come out 2 days from then. He said, yes, give them the check for the rest. Next day, I check my bank account and they took the whole amount out before even doing the service. So I called there and they said, they are sorry and offered to take $100 off. I said, no, it's a red flag, I want my money back. I asked if they are going to credit my bank account. No, we'll write you a check. When? I'll put it in the mail today. A week later, I have a credit in my bank account. So, he lied. I called there today and he said, it was best to just credit your account so the check doesn't get lost in the mail. I said, so you made me wait a WEEK? Then I asked him, I wrote a CHECK to you. Normally, companies deposit the actual CHECK! He said, we took a picture of it and deposited it that way. He said the guy entered the wrong amount. I said, why didn't the bank catch it if you sent a picture. I don't know. Check with my bank today, it was a telephone payment, so obviously, they took my account number and paid the WHOLE amount BEFORE doing the actual service! Lie, upon lie! Don't trust this company! Shady and unethical! I wouldn't have them change a light bulb for me! read more

If you have a generator put in by them, do you not expect to get immediate service if anything is wrong or on your one year service. Every time that I've called them they have put me off three or four different times extending the appointments out. My 1-year service was due in the middle of March. They have called twice since then an extended the service dates out this time they're claiming it's because of the storm damage I reminded them that there was not a storm the first time that I called. Also if you are planning on buying anything from them make sure to get a second or third estimate from somebody else do not take their word that they are giving you a good deal because they are not I learned the hard way. I ended up paying $5,000 more for the generator that I have because they said they were giving me a good deal and they could get it put in the next day. This makes me feel like an idiot which I am not normally put into this type of a situation. I usually no enough to get multiple estimates I will never use them again. read more

My name is Katie and I had you come out and do a maintenance on my furnace in September of this year 2023. He told me a few things that needed to be replaced and he did ,cost me over $1300 and I called next day because it wasn't running he came back . Now I know why it won't stay started. I called them again Monday and they couldn't come till next day but it was 23 degrees and I needed heat so I called a company that comes out 24 Hr service. the new company came out at NIGHT and after he checked it out he said I wasn't going to be happy...asked me who serviced it last I told him YOU. He said well there is a crack in it and is dangerous to use! Needless to say I was ticked it could've been a terrible end for me if I didn't call them. Tech said other company should've seen it. needless to say I am getting a new furnace with OTHER Company. They know what they're doing. Goods called me next day and I told you what he found and you said our tech didn't have a crack on his findings. I said well there is. And I said how come you don't come out 24 hr service she said we like to be home with our family's at night and they are Family oriented. I asked if I was getting any money back she ignored me. I would not recommend Goods unless you want to spend your money for nothing. I thought they were good at first but I was blindsighted! Since the first of the year I have been dealing with 3x my normal KWH usage and called your company to diagnose the problem. I was told that my entire service on the pole needed to be replaced for $4244.00. Because the amount was so high I wanted to get a second opinion. The second electrician who came out immediately discovered that the problem was in my well / well pump. My plumber came to check out the well and discovered that the pump was not shutting off. My problem was SOLVED with a $28 pressure switch. Imagine if I had spent $4244 and the problem would not have been solved!!?? read more

Goods Electric came out and gave us an estimate for a Generac whole house generator. We bought it they came and installed a Honeywell generator. Ok, I know they are the same, so we let it go. Our purchase included a one year service contract. We realize now this is worthless. After repeated calls to them, we finalize got a hold of them. Our routine maintenance is overdue and they repeatedly reschedule our appts. Very disappointed in this company and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

These guys really have a thing going here... They give you a song and dance when you call about how they're gonna give you a fair estimate when they show up and you'll have a $39 service fee. They don't quote anything over the phone and when they show up they will assess the situation... I was having difficulty getting another electrician out so I hired these guys to come out and give us a quote. After looking around the house at the job we needed done, they gave me a quote that was three times higher than the other electrician. I was dumbfounded by the cost that they were giving me and I asked to speak to somebody about the overall scope of the job and how we might be able to bring the cost down. When I was speaking to the supervisor he was giving me a song and dance about their customer service and profit margin and that's why the cost was so high. At the end of the day I run a business and I will never do business with these guys because quite frankly I think they're just going around ripping people off. I went with the other electrician and ended up getting the entire job done for 1/4 of the cost. The other electrician actually did the job for cheaper than he originally said. read more

We had an electrical line go dead to our pump in our septic. I was working across state my wife called Good's electric company and was given a quote of $1,410 to run a line 30' in conduit. There was already an outdoor outlet that they could tie too! This job literally consisted of 30' of conduit, 30' of 12/2 UF-B wire and two GFCI outdoor receptacle. It cost me less than $130 in material at Menards. I'm sure they could get it for less than $100 at their cost. It took me 3 hours to dig the 24" trench and wire everything up. How can a company pray on women like that? It's sickening that companies like this are allowed to price gouge people. I don't know how the owner can sleep at night taking advantage of people like this. We will never call them for anything again. read more

I was having issues with my central air unit and they sent out their technician Chad to my house. Chad was very knowledgable about his job and explained everything in detail so I was able to understand what was wrong. I also have a dog in the home and forgot to put him in another room but Chad was super friendly and my puppy just loved all the attention Chad gave him. He replaced a part and my air conditioning was back to normal and it was blowing cold air again. The customer service from calling in to Amber and having Megan book my call was a fantastic experience as well, they were all very kind. They gave me a call beforehand so I knew when to expect the technician. It was an all around great experience. I would definitely recommend doing business with them and I will be using this company for all my HVAC and electrical needs in the future. read more

we bought a generator from Goods almost a year ago for family members with health problems that we can't afford to lose power. the worst decision we ever made going with Goods. we went into our savings and paid over 10,000 in cash because they would give us a better deal that way. ever since it has had problems with it not running they have been here at least a dozen times and will not make it right. we now are coming up on the 1 year warranty expiring and we have a generator put together with duct tape crimped wires and elect tape. it does not run through its tests cycles every week well I take that back after a half a dozen service calls and more tape it sputters through a test. lost electric the other night and it took awhile to sputter on and acted like it got to wet in the storm we were having to run. technicians came out again to say there was nothing wrong with it. I do believe they sell you a lemon for a huge amount of money just to wait until your warranty runs out so they can take you some more. don't buy anything from them they really took us for a huge amount of our savings and leaving our sick family members high and dry and at risk. read more

Got furnace replaced Jan 2021... Now Feb 2022 the control board is shot due to them installing the furnace without letting me know my chimney may be a potential problem. Now my furnace won't run because water got thru the chimney and down the liner, and they can't replace it under warranty because of this. Not only that but when they installed my AC system the guys didn't even install the power correctly so for a few months I had no working AC. Whoever installed my system in the beginning they did a terrible job and now I'm paying for it. The company reps and some technicians that came after were amazing, but they're just cleaning up the mess left behind by the original installers... Now my $7200 furnace is worthless thanks to them. I'll be looking for a new company to work with. Like another said, their prices are 2-3x higher than others but this is because you can finance around 18 months with them. Not worth it though if they don't care about you and just want your money even though it's their own fault that my furnace no longer works thanks to a bad installation. read more

Here we are again. I setup an appointment to have my furnace checked and they came today and checked my furnace. I found the furnace was 33yrs old. They were doing their checks and one the checks they do is to put a camera into the chamber took pictures and they showed some stress cracks. So, my furnace chamber needed to be replaced or put in a new furnace. With the stress cracks, this could lead to carbon monoxide leaking out. The technician said they would send someone out to talk to me on choices. Obviously when you have a furnace that has outlived its usefulness, it's time to replace it. Sara checked my house and came up with five options. Since I have no central air and I had been wanting to have that, I chose the first option, and they are coming in a couple of days to install it. Sara did a great job of explaining every scenario and answered any questions I had to my satisfaction. I will post again when the job is done. read more

I have had a good amount of upgrades done to my property in Salem. Every time they were here they were polite and timely , very clean and neat, efficient and courteous. Although I have had an in ordinate amount of work done I have additional things come up by Ohio Edison and now must have an electrician come and move our electric lines which are under ground from one pole that is being removed supposedly to an alternate pole which has been here since 2010. I would highly recommend them for in and out door work. Some of the jobs they have done include outdoor lighting, making my cupola into a lighthouse, install ceiling fans were there was no light or fan prior, dig lines a good distance to install outdoor lighting to the perimeter of our property and illuminate my garage, mud room, and basement. read more
